This office is amazing and the staff is so friendly, the office manager Nannette was great and worked with my insurance and and I was able to receive and afford all the dental work that I needed. One star is too many. They lied to me on 5/7/2014 and my insurance company on 5/9/2014. My insurance has a zero copay for an amalgam filling. I was told by the girl that handles the "financial" part of the diagnosis that they do not do amalgam fillings because of the mercury in them and if I insist on amalgam I will have to go to a different dentist. She repeated this to me after going and speaking with the doctor. I needed the tooth taken care of so I agreed to pay the $109 copay for the "recommended" type of filling and I did pay as agreed before I left. I called my insurance company a couple of days later. They in turn called the dentist and was told that the dentist does, in fact, do amalgam fillings and I was mistaken or not telling the truth. So THEY LIED TO ME, twice, AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY. If this is the type of people you want to give your money to that is your decision. I will be filing a formal grievance with my insurance company and the State of California. The way I was treated is disgraceful, dishonest and very unprofessional. read more

First dentist I saw after moving back to the valley. The refused to do a deep cleaning unless I paid an extra amount for the medication used in deep cleaning. My insurance didn't cover this at this time so I got only a tooth polishing. I found out later that the deep cleaning can be done without the medication. In my opinion dentistry has become, not about the patient, but about money. In my opinion this is nothing more than extortion! If I could rate this a zero or negative star, I would. I had called and left messages on three separate occasions, trying to MAKE an appointment for my three kids and myself. I finally got a hold of the receptionist, and she wouldnt accept my word that I had spoken to the insurance and that I would have my card BEFORE any of the appointments. She told me that SHE would call and verify insurance and THEN get back to me. She never called me back, so I had to call a FOURTH time. I was finally able to schedule an appointment. One for me and three others for my kids, all on the same day, at the same time. I showed up for my appointment, was led back to a room where the windows were wide open and people could look in at me. The woman who took my x-rays was friendly, but the dentist was the unfriendliest person I have ever met. I tried to make small talk and she ignored me. Whatever that tool was that she used to clean my teeth, hurt so badly! It sent pain through my teeth and made me want to scream and cry. My appointment was back in mid-August 2012 and it is now two months later and my teeth hurt more now then they ever did before. My jaw locks up, and it never did before. My kids never made it to their appointments. The office called and cancelled their first appointment, the day before the appointment. When I didnt receive a call to confirm the second appointment, I called and left a message first thing the morning of the appointment. I received a phone call back almost within an hour, but the woman had no clue that I had called. She was calling to cancel the appointment, again, for the second time in TWO weeks!!!! This time I complained to her, asking why they were cancelling for a second time. She apologized, stating she didnt know why they cancelled the first time, but that the dentist was scheduled to leave town the next day and that she had decided to leave early. Turns out that the dentist cared more about a vacation than keeping appointments with people that she had ALREADY cancelled on the week before. At that point I told them that I would call my insurance and go elsewhere. The woman was VERY apologetic, but understood. She even went as far as to say that she wasnt happy about coming in for a full days shift and being sent home early just because the dentist decided to close shop and cancel appointments. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DENTAL OFFICE TO ANYONE!!! And just to add, my teeth are perfect. The dentist even made the remark. I have had one filling/cavity in my 32 years, and no other dental work. No reason why my teeth should STILL hurt to this day! read more

Walked in needing a cleaning and two teeth pulled. Walked out with my teeth still needing to be pulled, a wet shirt, confused, feeling lied to and a $12,000 estimate for dental work that they would do but anything lower I'd have to go somewhere else. I needed two broken teeth pulled and a cleaning. After my cleaning which soaked my shirt and had the liquids running down my throat almost choking me they refused to pull my teeth. At first the dentist said she didn't want to because she was worried about complications because of the way they were broken. She wanted me to go to an oral surgeon. Seemed totally reasonable until she then changed her story. Saying she'd pull them there if I'd get implants that cost $12,000. So if she'd do the work if I got implants that cost as much as a car but not if I just wanted them pulled for around $200? What happened to worrying about complications? When the office assistant came in with her price list she wouldn't show me the paper or answer my questions. She was rude and refused to give me exact prices for the lower cost work. When I was getting ready to leave the really nice front desk girl was offering to help me find a oral surgeon since the one they worked with wouldn't be back for a month. The other girl who gave me prices started to argue with her in front of me telling her I could do that on my own. She shouldn't help me. Totally rude and unprofessional. The other girl ignored her and said she'd help but never did call with any information. At this point I was almost laughing out loud at all this. I'm not one to yell and get rude back. When I went to pick up my prescription I was told by them my insurance would cover it and they would call it in for me. They were wrong about my insurance, by computer they sent my information but not what meds I needed and they messed up my information so bad I had to play guessing games with the pharmacy tech to find my stuff. Only after I gave him the back up paper prescription I was given incase I didn't go to the chosen pharmacy. They put my name, my husband's birthday and other info that was so wrong the guy almost had to call them to make sure this was a real prescription. Until he ask where I was coming from. He said he has problems with their prescriptions all the time. So overall it was a waste of a visit that left me with a wet shirt, frustrated and without help. UPDATE: Found another dentist in the area that did the work in the office. I also didnt need to wait for an oral surgeon. I price checked to other places for implants and BOTH charged half the amount for the same work andbwere shocked at the high price quoted. read more

Thee worst dental experience of my life!!I think I'd rather work on my own teeth than go back to that place. Not because of the dentist but because of the people like Nanette that work there. Nanette is a complete idiot. I have dual insurance coverage for my family and she couldn't figure out how to bill the 2 insurance companies properly and sent me to collections for her own incompetence. Then once my wife figured it out and contacted the insurance company herself, Nanette still couldn't admit that she had made a mistake even though the insurance companies ended up paying. Their sister companies, Margarita Dental and Butterfield Dental are much better places to go and the staff at those offices know what they are doing and do everything possible to take care of their clients. The only reason Esplanade Dental got 1 star from me is because I couldn't give them 0 or - (negative) stars. read more

Beware this dental office!!!They smile all the time they are taking you to the cleaners!! They will do procedures that you do NOT authorize and bill you to death for it. They pulled a fast one on me by taking pictures along with the xrays, not explaining to me that this would not be covered, and this after I told them I only wanted what my insurance would cover. BEWARE!! DO NOT GO HERE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF!! I started going here in 03/2016 because I had a broken Permanent Bridge that I needed fixed. They stated it could not be fixed, but they could make me another one. So I agreed to do that, the Dentist on Duty was a older man in his 70's whom proceeded to mess up my mouth, it was sore for weeks after he "prepared my mouth for the new bridge". I made another appointment to come back and have the bridge "Fitted". When I got to the office I was told the prior Older Dentist no longer worked there, and everything he had done, was done improperly and it had to be done all over again! (Mind you, they had already billed my Federal Employee Dental Insurance) for all this work, that had not been done or improperly done, per new female dentist on duty that day. (Which was over $4500 dollars.) She proceeded to look in my mouth and tell me that I should never have had the new bridge made, because my mouth had to have time to heal up. She then told me she saw 3 other teeth in my mouth that really needed new Crowns, because the old ones were "Detererating". I agreed to have her do this new work, I trusted her to tell me the truth about my mouth needing to heal for the bridge and new crowns. She spent over 4 hours making impressions and removing the old temporary crowns that the Old Dentist had put on, she stated he done those wrong, he put permanent glue on temporary crowns that is why it took so long to get them off. Ok done, impressions made. Lady dentist told me to come back in one month, when my three crowns would be ready to be installed, then they could go back to working on my upper bridge, which should be healed by then.... Well when I came back today..... Yet another Dentist was there, I WAS TOLD the prior younger woman dentist that I saw previously, no longer worked there either! And none of the prior staff works there, everyone , including prior office manager, clerical clerk at front desk and all the dental assistants that were there prior, no longer work for the practice! (Where has everyone gone? And why did they leave?) Well I found out, at this new appointment, they made for me to come in. Nobody knew why I was there, The bridge was not ordered, so I couldn't try it on, the 3 crowns that on my prior visit I had sit in chair for 4 hours being prepped for and all the impressions that the lady dentist made or supposedly made, nothing was done, they called the lab, nobody anywhere could find my crowns or my bridge that was ordered back in 03/2016? Nothing was found, all the needles to numb my mouth all the wasted time sitting in dental office having the Old Dentist post nasal drip all over me, all for NOTHING!! The New Office Manager totally rude, called me a liar, telling me that the woman dentist was not actually taking impressions, that she was doing something else in my mouth for 4 hours. What I asked was she doing then? Office Manager had no idea, she was new! Needless to say, today is the last and final day I will ever step foot in this unorganized mess they call a Dentist office! I had to call my Dental Insurance and have all the billings they submitted for items they NEVER delivered reversed, so I can now go to a "Proper Dentist" and get the Proper work done!! This experience was a NIGHTMARE to say the least!! So I say to someone looking for a Dentist---AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! read more

DISHONEST. They lied to me and they lied to my insurance company. Did not want to do a procedure my insurance would cover so they told me they did not do it. Even told me if I wanted an amalgam filling I would have to find a different office. My insurance co. called them and, of course, they lied again and said they did offer the amalgam filling. if you have dental insurance beware!!! I went in requesting services that my insurance coverage was 100% They added additional costs to everything. Then was told "they couldn't offer FREE services to people coming in off the street or they would have to close their doors" after returning home and calling my Dental insurance provider who found this statement totally ludicrous since they are being paid by the insurance and new clients be referred was just disgraceful! Thank goodness I found another Dentist who is honest and not a thief and now receiving all my necessary dental work! Only gave this a 1 because zero wasn't a option.
