I called about 8 different local papers to get their prices and deadlines re: publishing my Fictitious Business Name Statement (aka DBA) and only 3 of them even bothered to call back. Ellen at THE PASADENA WEEKLY was not only the first but she knew her business backwards and forwards. Since everyone was basically the same price it was customer service which made my decision for me. And when I sent in the paperwork she noticed a mistake made by the County Recorder's Office and got right back to me about it. After 2 follow-up calls a piece, I have yet to even hear from The Pasadena Star News and those other papers. Call Ellen and use her for all your FBN needs in LA County!

They took the time to walk us through everything and made sure we were fully set up and comfortable. While her dementia has progressed and reading is harder for her now, having the paper is still a meaningful way for her to stay connected to the world and to something familiar. I'm genuinely thankful for the care and patience the staff showed and for a service that goes beyond just a subscription.

Los Angeles' newspaper of record for the Korean community. From their website:…read more The Hankook Ilbo (Korea Times) publishes 5 million copies of 5 different daily newspapers every morning, and is the largest Korean newspaper in the United States in terms of total circulation and production capacity. In addition to news and culture, The Korea Times serves to unite the LA Korean community. I do some college outreach in the community, and the Korea Times has been super supportive of those efforts. Print edition in Korean only, in English and Korean online. Home delivery of a thick paper newspaper is not dead!

The Sentinel is the best source for Eagle Rock news. And it has been getting better and better…read more Their recent stories on the restaurant burglaries have been thorough, clear and informative. It managed to be interesting and exciting without ranting or finger-pointing, which raised it to a fairly rare journalistic height. I'm giving it a second star for the fact that they put together some pieces where local boy scout…read moretroops, elementary school classes, high-school football teams, etc. get to see their name and picture in print. The light local news is fine. Unfortunately, the quality of writing needs to improve ("Want Fry's with That" [sic]), and some of the other articles could use more appropriate sourcing and less vitriol. Hopefully, it can become the paper that Eagle rock deserves.

I would love to see what other Yelpers think since I value everyones opinions.

Nothing seems to have been updated since 2010 so I have no idea why it's still coming up as the FIRST result in a google search for "la health". I can't believe it. I'm stunned that their downloadable media kit looks fully funtional but when you call their number (323-297-4001) it's a completely different business who claims to get tons of calls for LA Health. So wrong!
