Lasso, black smith, arts and crafts (wildflower seeds), making adobe bricks, "museum" of home life and a history talk. The kids LOVED the adobe brick making. This is kinda messy. Kids are to take off shoes and socks, roll up their pants and mush around in mud. Then they take the mud, mix it with hay and make bricks. After they are done, the students get help with rinsing off the mud and drying off. Great place for 4th and 5th graders.

Upon check in, they give you a little flyer where you can FaceTime with Santa and your Children. On the back of the flyer, you will be able to do a little scavenger hunt and attempt to find all of Santa's missing reindeer! My family and I enjoyed all the light tunnels, and we all had a good time. Some lights were broken or turned off, but overall it was a very festive way to start the season!

What you want to do is walk around first then come back for the performances. I enjoyed the dragon on the floating water. Different dragons and monsters to ride for photos. Earlier that day, I had taken my wheelchair from my home into Claremont, about a mile and a half, to enjoy the bakery,The farmers market ,lunch, and the local shops. Everywhere else I went, I was treated kindly and respectfully. My service dog was calm, controlled, and remained with me in my wheelchair the entire time. When I arrived at the museum, only one of the double doors was open. Because the building has older, narrow doors, both doors needed to be opened so my wheelchair could enter. Instead of being welcomed or assisted, I was questioned at the doorway in a way that felt cold, suspicious, and humiliating. I explained that my dog is a service dog and that he assists me by alerting me when I am medically in trouble and helping me regulate my condition. I also tried to protect my medical privacy while answering the question about the service he provides. Rather than opening the second door and allowing me access, I was left outside in the heat for several minutes and then told I had not answered sufficiently. The staff member physically remained in the doorway and would not open the second door for my wheelchair. This was especially upsetting because my dog was calm, controlled, and not disruptive in any way. I was simply trying to see the exhibit like any other visitor. I understand that museums and public places may need to ask appropriate questions about service animals. What disappointed me was the tone, the delay, the lack of warmth, and the failure to make the entrance accessible for a wheelchair user. The interaction made me feel unwelcome in a place that should be open to the community. I hope the museum uses this as an opportunity to better train staff on disability access, service animal etiquette, and how to treat disabled visitors with dignity. A visitor using a wheelchair and a service dog should not have to sit outside in the heat, argue for access, or feel interrogated before being allowed to enjoy art. I wanted this to be the lovely ending to a good day in Claremont. Instead, I left feeling excluded and deeply disappointed.

If you're looking for something to do during the holidays, this is a great option…read more First of all, it's huge. I remember at one point as we were walking around I said "It just keeps going!" Secondly, the light displays are amazing. If you're looking for photos to post on social media, this is the place for you. Everywhere we turned we were like "Oh, wow!" and stopped so many times to take photos. A couple of the displays were also animatronic. There were also little freestanding rooms with mirrors that turn the small space into an infinity room. You just have to wait outside in a line until it's your turn to go in. And other rooms had seating, flowers, and Christmas trees specifically for people to pose and take pictures with. They also had a live circus act and carnival games. There were food trucks and food stalls with places to sit down and eat. There was also a "Transformer" car, so we actually decided to sit and eat there while we waited for the show to start, but they will try to charge you a small fee if you want to take a close up picture with it and they'll try to sell you toy versions of it. When we went on the ferris wheel, we actually got to see it transform from our aerial view. We also got a great overview of how expansive the light displays were and noticed an area we hadn't gotten to yet, so after the ride we went there. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the long line and wait to get in while sitting in our car. We also got a little lost trying to find the entrance because Google Maps told us to go to the wrong gate. I think it's been fixed since then. Overall, though, it was a great experience. Just know that you'll be doing a lot of walking.

We got to see bunnies, rabbits, turtles, and so many different types of birds. It was such a peaceful and beautiful experience being surrounded by nature. Whether you're looking for a relaxing nature walk, want to explore the trails, or enjoy a nice hike, this is a great place to visit. Claremont, CA This…read morebotanic garden has grown on me. There are so many varieties of California native plants and they do have a nursery that is usually open a few days a week but is closed for Summer and reopening in October, 2026. What I love about this property is the sprawling amount of walkway to take a nice walk. You'll find enough shade along the way but many parts are not shaded. The pathways are decomposed granite, concrete and or asphalt so it's like hiking in nature but without the dirt road or elevation gain. I also really love that it's not crowded here. It's also smack dab in the middle of nature so you will occasionally see wild animal poop on a path, cracks that have not been repaired, but none of that really bothers me. There are plenty of benches along the path and a restroom on one side of the property so plan accordingly. They used to have a nice gift shop here and novelties like hats, t shirts, children's toys, books are now displayed in a small outdoor kiosk near to where you check in. California Botanic Garden is a member of the American Horticultural Network of Gardens (AHS). So if you have an annual membership at one of the participating Gardens associated with AHS Gardens you automatically have access to visit all of the gardens in network, unlimited visits for no additional charge. It is nice being a member at one garden and having access to visit hundreds of gardens. The Asian American Expo is a fantastic way to discover new products; especially food products!…read more This was my second time attending the AAE and as amazing as it was, it wasn't as fun as last year's, which had way more brands and samples (as well as deals). Think, buying products at wholesale prices, without having to buy them in bulk. There were a lot of the usual sponsors, like Toyota that had a wonderful set up; selling merch, giving swag, and having a few display vehicles to wow the patrons. There were also a lot of cultural dances to watch if you wanted to just relax in one place, sit down and watch some drummers drumming or dancers dancing. They were all so beautiful with their make up and outfits! Another note, both years I attended, there was also a simultaneous expo next door called anime impulse. You could walk around on that side too which showcased some neat cars, artisans selling crafts and merchandise, and a whole room full of kpop(Kfest), as well as cosplayers walking around. There was definitely a lot going on and it's definitely worth the 30$ entry ticket and 20$ parking. There were also shuttles (like the ones at Disneyland) taking people to and from their vehicles from the giant parking lot to the venue which was very nice and convenient. A lot of people bring suitcases or wagons to shop without having to keep going to and from their vehicles in the parking lot too often, dropping off goods (it gets heavy and hard to walk around!)

The expo this year was held at the Pomona Fairflex. We arrived around 11:30 am and the entrance already had quite a long line. I took a bit of time to get our parking ticket. Parking is $21 but there's definitely plenty of parking. We chose to park towards the back so it was a bit of a walk but we noticed there's also a mini tram to take for folks who prefer a ride versus walking. Getting through the actual main entrance to the expo was quick and easy. Once in, it's off to a lot of different booths, shows and photo ops! The Asian American Expo was in Hall 4 and it housed a ton of different booths offering Asian food and drinks. One could basically almost find any Asian food or drink that exists. It was that extensive! I saw hot pot broths, lots of noodles, Chinese onion pancakes, pineapple cake, cookies, rolls and so much more. Many of the booths offered free samples. Aside from food and drinks, there were also giveaway booths from different casinos (seemed to be popular thing with a lot of visitors as I saw long lines). There were also some beauty and massage booths. There were also various shows throughout the day. From kung fu dancing to karaoke, the entertainment was a lot of fun! Outside of the hall, there were lots of food booths. They are the booths you typically would see at fairs and night markets. We enjoyed some bbq sticks, Peking duck rolls and boba. On average expect to pay about $15 or more per booth. This year Asian American Expo was at the same time as K-Play K-POP convention and Anime Impulse (more on those events in a future Yelp review). A ticket to the Asian American Expo included entrance to those events too! A day pass ticket was $29.42 or you could purchase a 1 day pass 4 pack for $97.77. The expo ran from 10am to 7pm- plenty of time to get in your share of samples, shows and shopping! Overall I had a fun time at the Asian American Expo and would go again.
