I came in as a first time visitor, and was provided with a complete tour of the library. From the available events space, bookstore, computer lab, to the books. I stayed for about two hours completing work, before heading to the back deck where I watched people enjoying their time in the park with birds singing. I will certainly be a regular here moving forward.

I reached my campsite and decided to read up on the library. The reviews were great so I decided to go the next day. Since I was visiting in the area I asked the librarian if they had any info what to do in town. She was very helpful and friendly. After pointing me in the direction to look for things to do in town. I sat and looked around the library and was admiring the architecture. It was a gloomy, windy and very wet day. But, being inside the library I didn't get that feeling. It was bright and open and with floor to ceiling glass windows it brought the outside beauty indoors. They had individual work rooms, meeting rooms, teens and youths areas. I decided to walk around and view the outdoors from the youth section. There the floor to ceiling windows opened up an entire room you can only look at from your chair. With the storm hovering above you could see Mother Nature in the works. What a grand room! So also in this area they had set up on the tables easels with canvas and paint supplies. I found out from the librarian that they sometime offer different art projects for anyone to do at no charge! So after my town adventures in the rain I returned to do a little painting of my own. In the two hours that I was there painting I also enjoyed the sound of the heavy rain tapping on the rooftop and windows. Watching the plants blowing in the wind and the dark clouds pass by. The library has a security guard just inside the front door. The entrance lobby is open and bright. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I would definitely return to the library if I'm in town. You should see for yourself what they have to offer.

This is also a spot for emergency preparation from sdg&e when the lights go out . You can get water and change your cell phones. Feed San Diego uses there parking lot every other Wednesday to give out food. You can find good books here if not ask they will find them for you. Yes I recommend visiting them

Parking is a disaster, spots are small and limited to 9. If you drive a larger car I recommend parking across the street where you will find plenty of parking. In the afternoon after school is out, you will find lots of kids hanging out. It gets a little loud and staff nor security say anything to shut em off. The library is great addition to the neighborhood that is often neglected by the city.

I come here…read moreto prepare for college exams, and instead of a quiet environment, it feels like a loud social hangout. There is consistently either a disability group or middle school students that run around talking loudly with zero consideration for the people around them. It's disruptive, disrespectful, and completely defeats the purpose of a library. I understand that public spaces are for everyone, but that doesn't mean basic courtesy should go out the window. A library is supposed to be a place for reading and studying not a place for ongoing loud conversations. If people want to socialize, there are plenty of other places to do that. The library seriously needs to step up and enforce noise levels or create strictly enforced quiet zones or hours.

Was surprised at how quick and easy the process turned out to be. Just need a photo ID and proof of address so if you have a California ID that's good enough! I did want to say that their events calendar for the library is really awesome. I saw there was Friday Night Magic and movie nights on there, and that was just some of the programs they offer! There's are tonnnns! PS - The door slams super loud if you just let it close!

Amazing library curated on each floor to educate the mind…read more Sad to see that public libraries are homes of the homeless and transients. Taking showers in the bathroom. The stench is unbearable in the elevators and at times fearing for my safety. My hopes is that there is a service contract from the city to clean weekly if not twice a week. I enjoyed the music and art floors. Card catalogs still in use and you can check out a vinyl record. In the 4th floor, you can use a sewing machine or a three D printer. Fascinating. Here is also a place you can bring used books or clothes to deposit. The roof top is pretty with a rare collection section and a museum. You will also find a small high school on two floors. Worth a visit. The views are amazing from every level.
