It was a nice place to eat and the service was good. The food was ok but not great. The did have a large menu which could be part of the problem. It's hard to know what to order and it's not the same culture as Italian restaurants where there is a specialty with a few other items for those that want to stick with traditional cooking. I haven't seen many Asian restaurants here so I can't say I would try other ones so as to compare. It's good for a quick dinner, but not an experience.

Not this place - it's white cloth dining and even has a huge aquarium beneath glass floors. Very nice and quiet too. Service: Average. Lots of attention when you want it, but not the most outwardly friendly staff. Venues in Chinese/italian/English Food: Excellent. A huge list of items to choose from with loads of variation. Some pictures included which helps too. Everything we had great flavor and high quality ingredients. Price: Very cheap for the quality. Most of the restaurants around it were 50% more. I know it's probably not what you want when given limited time as a tourist in Italy but trust me, if you want to be sure of a good meal, give it a go.

It as a cool-ish early fall night, so we were thinking soup and bread. They told us the soup of the day was bean and pasta soup (pasta fasciul- which we typically love so we were excited!) so we ordered three for our group of four. We also order several desserts. The takeout total was equal to or more than it would have cost us to sit down in a restaurant and order off the menu. When we got to the house and excitedly opened the containers of soup, we were surprised to find something quite different from what was expected- it was basically canned refried beans mixed with pasta- it was partially solidified and because they put it in a paper to go container instead of a soup container it had absorbed into the container as well. Honestly, it wasn't great. We also got one of their pizzas which was cold and stuck to the top of the box, so by the time we ate it was more unappetizing. We didn't go back. Too bad, it gets amazing reviews otherwise. The thing was that the guy behind the register was somewhat arrogant and unhelpful- he knew full well what we were getting and that it wasn't what we were thinking and did not guide us any differently. So sorry we wasted one of our precious vacation meal choices on this place. It turned out to be the worst meal of our 16 day trip - every other meal we had was spectacular.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. AMAZING I SAY!…read more Gian's parents decided to bring us for a major feast before we headed back to Glasgow and what did they choose for us? Meat. Lots of meat. MEAT!!! Da Giovanni is a traditional family restaurant that's been in Padova for years! So the way this place works is, you go there, they serve you your first course, then bring you trolleys of all the meat cooked by roasting or by boiling, trolleys of vegetables and then trolleys of dessert. Yes, TROLLEYS. And then you can choose what you wanna try from all the delicious choices given to you! So, for the first course, I had handmade tagliatelle with pomodoro sauce and funghi (there are 5 sauces and all of them are handmade daily and brought to you on a tray so you can choose which you want with your pasta). I LOVE tagliatelle! It's my fav! So this pasta was a win for me! Main course, boiled or roasted meat with vege. There are all kinds of meat and cuts for you to choose from! For boiled, you hve like cow tongue, brain, leg, some pork and stuff while the roast, they have turkey, chicken, lamb bla bla you get it, it's ALL MEAT. I went for roast with some brocolli, zucchini and pepper (veges also come in huge trays on trolleys for you to choose from). It was so filling omg. Delicious like crazy but man, you'll explode at the end of the meal! Desserts were cooked on the day; they had 4 different types of cakes/pies, caramelised pears and then some fruits that were soaked in spirits lol. I dunno what to say guys. I loved it so much. It was such a nice experience with the family and the environment was so wonderful! How can describe it ... Authentic? Quick and witty Italian elderly people serving up amazing food and making jokes! I loved it so much! Highly recommend!

Very disappointing! Our tour guide called for us to confirm the restaurant had vegetarian options…read moreand was assured we'd be taken care of. There was one vegetarian option in the menu Pasta e fagiiole. This turned out to be a few wide noodles submerged in a puréed beans. No garlic. No cheese. No herbs. No vegetables. It was like eating a bland watered down hummus over noodles. I give them 3 stars because my companions had the gnocchi with mushrooms and pork and loved it.

We found this place walking by the narrow streets of central Padua. I don't even recall how we arrived here, in this little alley. From the front door this place is so gloom that doesn't inspire people entering. However, the handwritten menu caught our attention. At first, prices were not clear - perhaps due to the calligraphy -, but once all was deciphered we decided to give the place a go. I glad we did. In this little yet ancient "Osteria" I rediscovered all those tasty recipes my granny (from Venice) was used to cook me when I was a child: "Sarde in saor" and "Baccalà mantecato". Whilst going to the gentlemen, a flavoured full-bodied smell reached my nose. I was told that was from an old poor but traditional recipe of the once upon a time Venetian Osterias: "pollo in tecia", or chicken drums cooked in wine and grappa (distilled wine) with herbs and vegetables on a polenta bed. Of course I went for it, with some chards-like vegetable side. The dinner has been tossed with a glass of Tocai (not that good) and completed with two marvelous desserts, a chocolate and pear cake, and a coffee and chocolate mousse. Price wise this place is much cheaper than the one we've eaten two days ago, and the quality was much better. A visit is absolutely deserved. P.S. the empty place was so crowded when we left and people were waiting outside to be accommodated. If you are a small group, greater than two, I'd recommend booking in advance.
