My husband and I just used Dr Park for our surgeries 1 week apart from each other. I had 2 torn meniscus and my husband had a full knee robotic knee replacement. We are still in recovery process but are very pleased with the outcome and more importantly wanted to mention the bedside manners of Dr Park is 10 stars never rushing making sure all questions are answered and the 2 separate facilities that are surgeries were done Newport Hoag and Aliso Viejo Hoag were both amazing. I started seeing Dr. Samuel Park because both of my knees were really bad. I had seen so many Doctors that really didn't help. Dr. Park was able to put painless injections in my knees while doing an ultra sound to see exactly where to put it. It helped so much and it didn't hurt like most of them do. After a while, we had no choice but to replace BOTH knees. He did them at the same time. He is an amazing surgeon. He did such a great job that I was able to go home after 6 days in hospital rather than go to a rehab for a few weeks. I am so much better. I wish I would have done this years ago. I am so happy I found Dr. Park and his excellent staff. I never have to wait, Dr. Park spends a lot of time with each of his patients, he listens and is very compassionate. I had my first appointment with Dr Park today and was very pleased! He asked a lot of questions and really cares about getting to the bottom of all my issues. He didn't push pills like many doctors I've had in the past. I plan on making this the family go to. If you are in the area and looking for a new doctor, this is the place! Dr. Park himself isnt bad, no complaints, however the staff sucks. Like Id rather deep throat a cactus than deal with them again. Saw Dr. Park in Oct for a new patient consult and again in Dec for a minor issue. I had a recurring prescription that needed Drs approval. January 12 comes, refill is blocked, denied by the Dr. No call, no email, nothing. I had emailed and called from Jan 2 to Jan 26 for various reasons, a total of 3 calls, 4 emails. Only reply was a simple email saying to call for an appointment so they could consult on snoring. I finally get an email saying they have just faxed approval for my refill to my pharmacy on Jan 25 (misspelling in my name, too). I respond asking why the delay/denial, no reply. Later I call and am told Dr. wants to see me on a 3 mo basis and thought I hadnt been in since Oct, missing the fact that I had been in 1 month prior. Ok. Great. I get it, he needs to see me for my Rx. Would have loved to have been told that, as I was told refills were simply subject to faxed approval from the Dr. and his concern was just making sure I wasnt refilling weekly on a monthly supply. No mention of any needed recall appts at all when I first worked all that out. I send an email asking for appointment options that fit my pretty open schedule: a whole month, MWF at 4 or 430, for an appt that should take 15 min. Should be easy to get some options. I get an email saying my appointment is at 11:30, not "I can offer this time", my APPOINTMENT. No approval given from me. Called to ask WTF, and breach the topic of replies and communication, and was told that all emails have been getting replies. Nothing in spam, tell the staff. Entire time she had a rather apathetic tone like they didnt have time for me, that I should go elsewhere. He was great, but even if it was free it wouldnt be worth putting up with his staff. Fired the Dr. In about 3 mo because of his staff. read more

We've been with Dr. Park for about three years. I'm shocked to see some negative reviews. I'm extremely picky I can usually diagnose the problems before the doctor, and I can honestly say that he's been great!!! In fact, we had a problem with Choc hospital where the doctors there were horrendous and literally almost killed our daughter! (Not joking) Dr. Park was life-saving, so I have nothing negative to say. Everyone I have recommended him to, has been satisfied. I've been a patient of Dr. Park for three years, and I think he's great. I would recommend him to my family, and friends. The wait time is usually less than 5 minutes, and the facility, and rooms are clean. Dr. Park is personable, and very easy to talk to. Dr park is a great Dr. Yes he is still human but he is definitly five star as good as it gets in Family practice physicians that can really do just about any thing you walk in off the street and need like an infedtion, broken bones , physical exam etc. Any intelligent physician(and he is very intelligent ) has to be a little unahppy with the mess our healthcare system is in and the truly rediculous amount Drs are expected to accept these days. Dr park still works fairly with cash paying patients struggling to find good healthcare. He really is a kind person and does listen to you very carefully. He really can only be as good as his patient is receptive to what he has to say and what he reccommends. Divirticulitis is common in people over 40 and even more common when you are over 60. The first line of treatment is to adjust your diet. I imagine he discussed diet with you if you went in complaining of abdominal pain and this does general solve the problem most of the time. He is very honest about what is reasonable and cost effective treatment. I went in with the flu once and saw that he is not as receptive to me when I am sick and whiney. He perscribed the appropriate treatment and told me to go get some rest. I happy to say I got better quickly and was reassured i wasn't sicker. My whole family goes to him and we work in healthcare too. He has so far diagnosed everyone exactly right. I reccomend him to people all the time. Dr. Park is cynical about the medical profession and the way it doesn't pay enough to be a doctor. He also believes that his congeniality is very important. My experience with him seemed okay until I went with a problem that could have been diagnosed if he taken the time to think about my symptoms, which were pains in the pelvic area and no infection shown with test for bladder infection. I went to him three times over two months and he never caught on that the symptoms were those of diverticulitis. Instead, he told me he thought my excruciating pains were in the "normal range." I consider this misdiagnosis of a major degree! Three times with same symptoms, three times with clear urinalysis--no bladder infection. When I showed up twice in one day, before and after work, because the pain was so horrible, he laughed. I can only assume it was a laugh of embarrassment. I question whether he knows what a differential diagnosis is, where a doctor looks at the symptoms and systematically eliminates each possible cause. There is one thing I recommend him for, which is minor surgery. He is good with a needle. read more

Dr. Park may be an excellent Dr., but his office is terrible. When I first called, I wanted to make sure that they took my insurance - an Anthem Blue Cross PPO group policy through my business. I was assured by the office that they did accept my insurance. I also checked online with my insurance to make sure that Dr. Park is in network and he is. However, when I got to Dr. Park's office for my appointment, the receptionist wanted me to sign an agreement acknowledging that Dr. Park's office does not participate in any Anthem Blue Cross Bronze Exchange EPO's and accepting full liability if Anthem Blue Cross doesn't pay them within 60 days of their submission of my bill. I pointed out that I had a non-exchange PPO - not an exchange EPO - but they insisted that I sign the document anyway. So first, they were wrong about my insurance - which they actually do accept - and second, insurance often doesn't pay within 60 days. Sometimes its the Drs. office's fault (wrong billing code or something else) and sometimes its Anthem Blue Cross just being Anthem Blue Cross. But by signing this agreement that really didn't apply to my insurance under the guise that is did, I'd be forced to pay the full bill within 60 days if Anthem didn't. I refused and told the receptionist to cancel my appointment and walked out. Insurance is often difficult for both Drs. and patients to deal with, but Dr. Park's office accepts my insurance and trying to hold me responsible for any issues that might arise within 60 days of billing is not right. Went to see Dr. Park for the first time this week. Wow, got in at 8:30am! I decided to visit based on the reviews and I must say I concur with the reviews. Dr. Park is on top of it! He seem to really care about his work and patients. I was not rush out of the office, asked as many questions as I wanted, and was just happy that I felt really comfortable with the doc. Although he isn't a regular medical practice, Dr. Park has been my "go to" Doctor for years. A few years ago I went in for a visit while experiencing dizziness. If it weren't for Dr. Park's persistance I would never have found out I had a life threatening heart condition. You can always get a same day appointment and he is always the ultimate professional.
