If you're a parent thinking of sending your kids to this school please just consider giving this a read. I began 7th grade here in 2019 and I'm extremely lucky Covid saved me from this hellhole otherwise I wouldn't be here to write this review.
Where to start, this school did absolutely nothing about bullies, in fact many teachers even saw it happen and did nothing about it. For example these kids in my science class were making fun of me for my looks, they asked my science teacher if I looked like Sid from Ice Age while at laughing, she could see I was fake smiling to fit in but wanted her to stop it. She said "go sit back down." She told me to go sit back down to the same group that was bullying me. Just wow.
Speaking of bullies let's talk about the lunch line. It was always extremely long, it would take half of lunch just to GET my lunch. Then there would be the kids who would cut you after you waited 12 minutes to get to the front.
One of these kids angered me a little bit too much and I wanted to fight him. Keep in mind I'm a little 5'2 scrawny kid and this is a boy twice my size. I didn't really wanna fight but also didn't want to be pushed around. This kid beat me senselessly, it wasn't even a fair fight. The security guards did the one thing they're decent at and broke up the fight after I had already been shoved to the ground and pounded around 20 times.
And guess what the admins did. They suspended me and him for 3 days. And that's it. He continued to bully me after we came back to school and kept threatening to beat me up again and to fight him. The counselors never even thought of trying to get us in a room together and solve the issue. They never thought of trying to make either one of us apologize. They completely ignored the issue.
After ~8 months of constant being shit on by all of my so called friends and bullies. ~8 months of being shoved around and punched in computer class as a "joke." And ~8 months of my teachers not cutting me any slack because I didn't turn in the homework the next day. I had enough and was considering suicide. I never once thought of ever going to the counselors. NOT ONCE. That's extremely depressing, the people who are supposed to be there I didn't feel were there for me. I was showing signs of depression (withdrawal from friends, not being cheerful as I used to, not talking in class, going in the corner of the class every class, avoiding other students) nobody notices. Nobody.
I planned it out...where to do it, in 3 weeks time. And If it wasn't for Covid isolating me from all that for a year and a half I would have done it.
The only redeeming parts of this school were some of the teachers who did care and did want to make a difference in students life's. I'm talking about you Mrs. Howe, Mr. Phillips, heck even the reception ladies took note of how I would come to school late almost every day.
