Outrageously Expensive!!!! : The people there in Access New Paltz are good and what they do, they…read moreare pros and kind, but be sure you know what you are getting into. If you have insurance and have a high deductible this place is outrageously expensive and it's a nice way to quickly clear out your health savings account. Only 3 trips 1st 45 minute assessment and each additional appointment 30 minutes totaled us (appointments was for my wife) over $1,600+!!!! We are not cheap, we are not beggars we don't mind paying more for quality but $675 for 1st and $475 each 30 minute appointment you have gotta be kidding me. That is with the "network discount" the initial bill to my insurance company was much higher!!!! We called the billing department with my insurance company their primary objective is to squeeze in as many codes as possible in 30 minutes at bear "minimum" 8 minutes a code is allowed....they squeeze in 4 per 30 minutes appointment and charge ALOT! Each code is supposed to cover 8-15 minutes so you get squeezed out (this is a company standard that's not to say they won't take extra time if they aren't busy in the office) My insurance had a single $167 code charging only $34 for most other offices for example. Again these people are good and kind but they work under a hospital called Montefiore Einstein they run a show. Good news is they aren't located in a hospital they are located in a shopping plaza and you can grab a slice of pizza next door when you are done, fortunately the Pizza place is an independent business from Montefiore and Rhino runs a great shop!

Facility: C- Old and in desperate need of renovation. The facility is broken down to the point…read morethat anywhere you look you'll see something that needs to be fixed or replaced. Maintenance tries to keep up with the most urgent repairs, but it's a fools errand. It's also in need of a deep clean. The outside area also looks broken down. All you see are dead shrubbery and dirt. Staff: B- This is a real mixed bag. Like many facilities, they are chronically understaffed. That's inflamed by habitual calling out at the last minute. Some aides and nurses are very good, others not so much. Relations between the staff is internecine, with constant bickering and undermining of each other. At the root of this is that many of the aides are young and unprofessional. Many have commented that they've never seen such a bad facility. Therapy: A This is the one bright spot. I can't say enough about the therapists. I wouldn't have made it through if it weren't for them. It's also amazing how they work in a small, cramped space. Much therapy takes place in the hallway. Administration/Company: F This is where the problems begin. Everything else is fruit of the poisonous tree. Beyond the incompetence of the administrator, the primary issue is how cheap they are. Whether it's low staff pay, poor supplies (they constantly run out of things because they aren't willing to pay for extra resources so outages don't occur every week. The parent company is being investigated by the AG for misappropriation covid funds. Food Service: D Yet another casualty of their miserly policies. The food is of a poor quality and repetitious. They run on a two week cycle, which for longer term residents means a nonstop barrage of the same bad food. The menu is primarily made up of ground beef, chicken and pasta. The vegetables are mostly inedible due to the poor preparation (simultaneously overcooked and cold). They have very few sugar free options and offer very little fresh produce. The staff is barely competent. At least 2 or 3 items are left off the tray. Like all other departments, there is a litany of excuses that are offered. Avg Grade: D+

His morning medication was given several times at lunch. The administrator listened to my concerns but nothing changed. When I found a new facility for my father the paperwork was delayed. I just called again (there aren't many PTs covered around me), and she again took the opportunity to argue instead of make up for her mistake. At this point I feel there's no chance of receiving quality care here, specifically because of her attitude. If I went here, I'd also have to see her- and she makes me so uncomfortable I'm deciding not to receive care. Incorrect info aside, it's the willingness to fight and put me down that really disturbed me. I think she's the sister of the owner, so expect her to be there a long time. Finally, IF I had listened to her incorrect information I would be on the hook for out of pocket PT (she kept insisting I could come in without a referral, even though my insurance told both of us that wasn't the case.) I hope the practice takes this review seriously-- I'd like to think that at least the PTs take their oath not to do harm seriously.
