He built the house and we moved in in early 2023, 20 months after signing our contract. James comes on strong but as the job progressed you could see that he was just ready to be done and did not seem to oversee his subcontractors. There was an issue with the custom exterior siding, which was around a $16,000 up-charge, that if we were not on site it would have become a real mess due to minimum on deck supervision of the siding crew. Luckily, we were able to stop the subcontractor and get it done right and when we did tell James we wanted our expensive siding done right he told us our job had become a "S___ Show". His exact words about our Dream House!! And that we were trying to "nickle and dime him". Very Unprofessional! Some of his subcontractors were good tradesmen and some of them were not.. We have already had to re-caulk both bathrooms. Additionally, we had a problem with the flooring and when we called James and told him this, he started yelling into the phone that it was somehow our fault then he hung up on us! Finally, after 6 months of trying to get James to fix our floor he sent us a check for $7600 and told us to have another contractor fix it! We hired James to build the house. His warranty clearly stated that any defects would be repaired by him. Now we have to bring in a 3rd party contractor to fix what his people messed up as James basically bowed out of his warranty responsibility by paying us off. Do we still even have a warranty on anything else?? At the end of the build James did not do a 'Punch Out' walk through. We are still correcting problems. All the switch and plug covers were crooked. Most of the cabinet doors were loose and in need of proper adjustment. The tub still even had the stickers on it! The interior trim is a mess because James did it himself instead of hiring a proper Trim Carpenter. We paid James every single Draw right on time. We did not complain about a couple of things that the contract price increased on because we understand that stuff happens. At the time of final payment what we got from Pro Craft Builders was "OK, so we're done, right?" Not a 'Thank You'. Not an 'Enjoy your new home'. Just "We're done, right?" The house seems sound and functional. Time will tell. We like looking at it and living in it. Did Pro Craft build us a good house? Again, time will tell. Would we hire him again...Probably not. Would we recommend him to anyone....Probably not.

We did the traditional method this time - filter barrier, stone and repack the top. Ironically, it cost 7K with LRE and 7K to repack it 3 years later. What ever foam they used has completely disolved when it was dug out or very little evidence foam was ever used. Do not waste you money and go the old tried and true method to repair your wall and just dig out.

We replaced countertops, backsplash and put down premium vinyl planks over the entire 500 square foot area. Also added new sinks/faucets in the kitchen and laundry. Design staff was able to guide us to our final decision of quartz countertops, with waterfall peninsula, slab backsplash and wide plank flooring. We chose Vadara Aurora quartz, with subtle light grey and gold veining. After reviewing many samples, we chose Shaw Fresh Take Shell Taupe 60" x 9" vinyl planks. H2OPlumbing, Joe Phillips Electric, H & H Construction, Stone Boyz and Island Accents did excellent work, arriving on time and cleaning up when they left. The scope of the project expanded when both plumbing and electrical staff found faulty/hazardous work previously done, which was corrected in an efficient manner. Top Gunn chose their trades wisely. Our master bathroom has been nothing but problems since moving in 5 years ago. It wasn't until Cesar at Miracle Plumbing came in that things started to improve. Using his leak detection services Cesar was able to quickly identify the root cause of the problem that every other plumber and even our home inspector missed. The main stack for plumbing in our home was not only cracked but practically severed in half, causing a major leak and damage to the surrounding wall, frame and floor. Cesar not only provided an estimate to resolve this problem once and for all, but he also pointed out that we could use our home owners insurance to cover the restoration costs that would be involved. Those costs ended up being considerably more than the costs to fix the plumbing issues, and we were obviously very grateful for his insights. While getting new flooring installed we discovered a leak in another bathroom. We immediately called Cesar to take a look.
