My review of Sam is long overdue! She absolutely SAVED my hair! Before going to Sam, my hair was seriously in shambles--super frizzy, balling up out of the shower, damaged! I attributed it to aging and having had two kids. Turns out my previous stylist was way over-processing my hair. I can't believe I never made the connection. I just happened to leave my former stylist because the location was no longer convenient to me and started going to Sam. Fortunately, Sam educated me on why my hair was behaving the way it was and assured me that it was treatable. I seriously am in awe with the health of my hair now. I so appreciate the fact that Sam cares about the integrity of her clients' hair and thinks about the health of my hair long term. This forethought informs what she does during each of our appointments. She is extremely knowledgeable and has taught me so much about hair care and styling. Her products are amazing and her price points are the lowest I have found anywhere. In addition to improving my hair health, my highlights/color, cuts, and styling are always amazing, and I walk out of her salon feeling like a million bucks. I was so ready to cut a large amount of my hair off, not only because it was too much to take care of, but also because I wanted to donate it to Wigs for Kids. Sam was a great conversationalist. She has a small studio space but she instantly makes you feel comfortable. She cut my hair in four ponytails just like you need to do in order to donate it. After years of thinking about it, I finally decided I was ready to take the plunge (and fork over the cash) to go with a vivid hair color. I combed through Yelp, stalked various Instagram accounts, and called around to fully understand what I was getting into. Sam was easy to talk to on the phone and gave me great info about the time and cost involved in maintaining vivid color, and she gave me advice about how to maintain the color so that I didn't need to hit the salon every month. I've been to Sam's studio three times now and I have come out every time completely in love with my hair--both the color and the cut. The color lasts and stays vivid without me having to put tons of products into it between visits. Sam has given me great information so that I know what to expect, which is so helpful when you're new to vivid color and balayage. Where do I even start? Sam is absolutely fabulous! My niece was finally ready to say goodbye to her super long locks and opt for something short and fun, but wanted it done ASAP before she changes her mind. We were so lucky that Sam was able to fit us in! The location itself is quite interesting. There's plenty of parking. Sam's Studio is located inside Sola Salon, which consists of a bunch of individual beauty businesses, from hair to facials to brows etc. Sam's Studio is absolutely adorable. The space is incredibly welcoming and very chic. There's even a patio right outside her space, where you can lounge and relax! Sam really took her time to ask what my niece wanted to do with her hair. They reviewed photos, discussed options and she made sure my niece was comfortable with how much length she was cutting off. Then she did the color and made sure it was perfect, even if she had to spend more time on it than previously expected. It's amazing how soft and shiny my niece's hair was when everything was done. When I moved to Bentonville I wasn't sure who I could count on to help maintain my beloved bottleneck style bangs. I was lucky I found Sam! On the first visit she immediately knew from talking and looking at a few pictures what I was going for, and recut my (at this point super overgrown) bangs perfectly. I've probably done about two more hair cuts and two more bang trims with her at this point, and she always gets it right. She has a very scientific and attentive approach to what she does, which I appreciate. For example, after my first bang trim, the bangs looked great at first but I noticed over time they really wanted to split in the middle. The next time I met with Sam I mentioned this to her, and she changed her cutting technique slightly and the problem was solved! Because my usual stylist was booked and I got the itch for change and didn't wanna wait (you know us chicks ) and 2. Because this place had great reviews, not many but that's okay! Sam is the owner and solo hair dresser for this location and she is great! My first impression is great, she's first off super gorg, and she's also very sweet & super informational. I love Sam's work I followed her from Fremont. A little bit of a drive but she is so worth following I have been going to Sam for about three years now. She has always given me the best tips and tricks for my crazy long hair.
