This place is a big joke. Where do I begin? Why would a franchise allow their good name to be portrayed this poorly. They had a list of sides to choose from but only two were available. Why give a choice. Hilarious. Prices are average but once again the awful service and speed of getting your food drags this place in to the one star category but once again the food saves this place. I like how this place has an option to have your food grilled instead of fried. I order the number 25 which had shrimp, stuffed shrimp and fish with two sides. The price was well worth it the food was delicious! It came with grilled onions and green peppers which I love! Being a trucker on the road we don't always get to eat good food. They did forget my fries but they were pretty busy and she gave them to me no problem. I like how they have an extensive menu. If I'm still here at dinner time I want to try the crab cakes and salad. This is some of the Best Fried Shrimp I've had in a long time! The Shrimp are extra large & were fried to a golden brown, just the way I like 'em! The Come-Back Sauce is waaaay-good! We ordered fries, green beans and hush puppies for our sides. Everything was seasoned perfectly. We couldn't contain ourselves & we ordered a Peanut Butter and a Honey Bun slice of cake. Lets just say, there was No talking as those were being consumed. Ridiculously Good! The Fried Green Tomatoes looked pretty tasty, as well. The portions are large and reasonably priced. Stopped in Minden on my way to Arkansas to grab lunch and this place caught my eye on Yelp! It was pretty busy even at 2 o'clock in the afternoon . I ordered 2 fish and 2 shrimp (both grilled) along with green beans and dirty rice for sides . Everything was fresh and very tasty ! Only thing is that I wish I had ordered a bigger helping ! Decided to try another local mom and pop restaurant since work has me here for an entire week. Walked into the place and it was dark like they were closed although the sign said open. Nobody in the restaurant completely empty and it's only going to be 2 o'clock. I know that for a fact because the lady who didn't greet me and was at the back of the restaurant that I could hear combining that it's only gonna be 2 o'clock. So after standing there for about 5 minutes not being acknowledged even with the door having a little Ding-Dong when I walked in... I decided to walk out and leave. As I'm halfway down down the parking lot the lady runs out the door and says "sir did you need me to help you" and my response to her was "not anymore". After reading several of the reviews and looking at some of the photographs that have been posted, it looked like it was going to be a good try. Although one review did state something about the food being spoiled and after seeing an empty restaurant I decided maybe it was it was a message from a higher power telling me don't eat here or you're gonna get sick as a dog and end up in the emergency room. Unfortunately there's no option to leave 0 stars so I left to only one. No photos either cause I didn't get a chance to try any of the food. I got the crab cake special: 3 crab cakes & 2 sides. The food was like other Sam's locations: pretty good. The lady that took my order greeted me when I walked in and was very friendly. I got my order fast. The reason for only 1 star: FLIES!!! I sat down at a both & in about a minute they were swarming all around me. Moved to the other side & it was a lot there too but not as bad. It was disgusting! The only reason I didn't walk out is my food came out so fast and I was hungry. I don't see how it could pass a health inspection. Sure hope I dont get sick! read more

Meh. Ordered meat pies. They were nice and spicy. Sides were just ok (dirty rice & green beans). Of the 3 people ordering 2 had to remind server of missing sides. Good cole slaw and fries. Potato salad - just ordinary but the red beans and rice were excellent. Fried gizzards tasted like they had been fried in the same oil as the cat fish and shrimp. Real unpleasant taste and smell. Only 1 girl working the counter. She was taking orders and in between she had to go in back to collect outgoing orders. She was frazzled to say the least. She asked one in our party if they'd like ketchup. My friend asked for packets instead of the pointy squirt bottle because the man in the next booth kept sticking the ketchup bottle in his elderly mother's ear. GROSS! Won't be going back. This place has some of the best fried fish and fried shrimp Po boys I've ever had. The people were nice, and even though they forgot our fries, they quickly brought them out to us!
