I'm not the one to write reviews unless the place was terrible but this place was the EXTREME OPPOSITE The pastries are AMAZING on top of the friendly and generous staff. I had the custard puff and two different kind of cannolis. The owner was sweet enough to offer me a sample of their delicious cannoli even though I did not ask. Everything is baked fresh in the morning and inexpensive for the quality. (~$2) versus defrosted donuts elsewhere. So delicious, amazing service and freshhh

Awesome rum cake and cannolis. Wish he'd still make his fruit cakes, though. If you want a pineapple cake, you'll have to drop off pineapple.

Tried the canoli, rum balls, run cake and tiramisu. Meh. Only the canoli was worth a second trip.

    Such a delicious cannoli

She assured us that these are better than any other that we've had before. With all the construction going on the street the businesses on Locke Street have banded together to support each other. If you spend a certain amount in one shop and go to another, show the second business your receipt from the first one for the discount. The box they put your goodies in is quite sturdy so you don't have to worry about everything shifting all over the place during your travels. The whoopie pie was a good ratio of chocolate cake to cream filling. I'm not a fan of cream but this went well with the cake mounds. My cousin did find the cake on the dry side. I don't like things that are very sweet so I found the butter tart on the sweet side but not too, too sweet. My cousin's friend loves butter tarts and said that the crust is really well done and the filling was runny but not too much. Also being $3 a piece is much better than $4.25 somewhere else.

My sister…read moreis the person who splits the cake part of a cupcake in two and makes a cupcake sandwich so when we saw Bitten had whoopie pies we thought it might take the work out of the treat for her and decided we would try this place out. Driving down Locke, Bitten ended up being pretty easy to find with it's bright, big, and bold signage. The inside is a lot of fun with neon walls and of course, a counter full of cupcakes, whoopie pies and butter tarts. We were greeted by two happy bakers who were so friendly and so helpful, especially given my brother-in-law has anaphylactic allergies to peanuts and soy protein so we often need to get some insight into their preparation processes. There weren't as much variety of whoopie pies as we hoped but there was a large selection of cupcakes so we decided to go for those instead. We told the lady serving us we weren't sure if we wanted six or twelve because our plan was to just get six but the flavours all seemed awesome. She told us to just start choosing and we'd go from there. I am pretty sure she knew we wouldn't just stick to six and we definitely didn't. Around the eight or ninth cupcake, it dawned on us there were twelve flavours total so we ended up with one of each. The cupcakes are so pretty and made for such a festive celebration. Honestly, they are some of the most beautifully decorated cupcakes I've seen which is always nice. Taste wise, I tried three over a few days: Rainbow, Fairy Bread and their red velvet. While I must say the first two (while fun and lovely) were a bit underwhelming since they were basically just vanilla cupcakes, their red velvet cupcake was wonderful. It was so moist and rich and had wonderful cream cheese frosting. The others were less stand out and memorable. Their other flavours seemed so intriguing though and going by the reactions of my family, I think they were also quite great. I would definitely return again. Between the friendly staff and the beautiful cupcakes with such wonderfully fun flavours, it is worth a visit!!

There's something about buying fresh, locally baked bread that makes you feel just a bit more rustic. The sourdough here has just the right amount of tang that goes so well with a nice spread of butter. The dough is incredibly soft (the squish!) but the crust holds its own. I wish it didn't harden as quickly though - still haven't found a way to delay this process. Not in the mood for bread? Try their sourdough scones or cake loaves. Equally delicious, especially with their coffee too. If you're not sure, ask one of the friendly sales and they'll be happy to chat with you about all things sourdough.

The entrance is on Vine St and as soon as I walked in a was hit with glorious smells and of fresh bread. I seen the cookies and I had trouble deciding what I was going to get. But I settled on the buckwheat and peanut brittle sourdough cookies and each were delicious. The sourdough buckwheat cookie was my favourite and that surprised me because I love peanut brittle so much. But I think it was the colossal chocolate pieces that won me over. Each cookie was soft with a slight crisp around the edges which I love. The lady working the store was incredibly friendly and eager to help me out. She signed me up for their reward program which was great. I love sourdough and I will be back to get some bread. I can't wait to try the bread.

I hadn't been back to this plaza in over three years. This Cobs Bread looks. I walked over to check this bakery out. This plaza has a lot of parking spots. It's anchored by a huge Walmart. A man immediately welcomed me when I walked in. I needed some time to look at everything, but it reminded me of visiting Cobs in Ottawa, but without a crowd. I love the danish pastries with custard. They were so good when I had them in the Summer that I got some more. My order consisted of these items: - Wild blueberry and custard danish - Raspberry and custard danish - Cinnamon bun My two pastries were in a bag. I got my cinnamon bun in a cute box. I paid with a debit card. I tapped and was good. I thanked the man and left with my goodies. I devoured the raspberry and custard danish after dinner. It was perfection. I liked the natural raspberries with the smooth custard. It was the best pairing. The danish had a light dusting of sugar sprinkled around the edge. Yummy! I haven't had the other goodies. They'll likely be gone by tomorrow. Such a great find. I may head back and get a chocolate croissant. I also like the flatbreads that are perfect for lunch or dinner. (396)
