Had them replace a flat rear tire and gave me a list of problems with my bike their "18 point inspections" SCAM. Since I ride 99% on my bike for work and errands, I felt the bike had to be reliable and made it clear to repair only critical problems that were necessary to function and went through the list several times. They held my bike ransom over a month and exceeded the estimate over $700. I paid it and left with the bike, 20 miles later I lost the function of my speedometer only to find out, the cable disconnected from the sensor at the wheel. I returned to American Biker, and showed Russ at the service desk that the speedometer cable had been damaged. He tells the part guy to order a sensor and charged me $116 even though Russ did not determine the sensor was defective and the cable was not ordered. Multiple trips to American Biker to order the cable and have it installed. They charged me an additional $230. Drove another 39 miles and speedometer failed again. Returned to American Biker where their Service dude Kirk claimed that the Speedometer gauge was worn. I told him bull sh*!. I have been riding this bike for 6 years and never had a problem until they serviced it. They were responsible for the failure and I wanted my money back. Kirk wanted to sell me a GPS speedometer. I rode the bike home, ordered a speedometer cable for $19 and drove the bike over 1000 miles without a problem. If American Biker had their way I would have spent over $600 for damage they created. They would not admit they caused the problem and Kirk told me they would not work on my bike again. Feelings mutual. All I wanted was to replace a flat rear tire.

When questioned about the charges and asked for an explanation, the owner became unprofessional and confrontational instead of addressing my concerns. We were told it was a $80 part & $350 weld fee and the rest was labor! Rather than working toward a reasonable resolution, he insisted that the full amount be paid and made comments that I perceived as threatening, which made the situation even more stressful. By law, customers deserve clear estimates, transparent communication, and authorization BEFORE significant work or charges are incurred. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I would STRONGLY encourage anyone considering this business to get every estimate and authorization in writing before leaving their vehicle. Based on our experience, I cannot in good faith recommend this business.

We agreed to replace only the axles, quoted at $1,600+, and were told the car would be ready Monday or early Tuesday. From there, communication completely broke down. We received no proactive updates. Multiple calls were routed through an AI system with no callbacks. When I finally reached a person, I was told the staff member handling our car had been out sick and that parts were delayed due to a storm. Totally understandable -- but no one called us, despite us coordinating work, school, therapy appointments, and Uber with one car. We were then told the car would be ready Wednesday, but again received no call. On Wednesday, we were told one axle never arrived and repairs would be done Thursday -- again, no prior notification. When I picked the car up Thursday and paid $1,500, the exact same noise was still present within a quarter mile of driving. I immediately returned. After initially being told it was due to not replacing the brakes (it was not a braking noise), they test-drove the car and then said the real issue was a gunked-up timing chain/belt, which they "fixed" with another oil change and flush. The noise stopped. That raises a serious concern: why were $1,500 axle replacements done when the original issue was misdiagnosed and resolved with an oil change? Had this been correctly identified, we would have made very different decisions. Between the misdiagnosis, repeated missed timelines, lack of communication, and unnecessary expense, this experience was extremely frustrating and left us without confidence in the work performed.

In spite of this, the manager told the guy at the front desk to charge me for patching the tire. I paid more than I ever paid not to patch my tire than I ever paid before.
