Sarah and her family were always polite and friendly towards me. They let me borrow equipment with…read morepermission and helped me with training. I noticed Buckwheat seemed to be getting skinner in my last few visits but being an hour away I was reliant on Sarah. I couldn't visit often and was paying 400$ in the belief my mare was taken care of. After telling Sarah I would be moving to a facility closer to me (I was charged 200$ for two days of board since she wasn't moved before the month was over) I noticed Buckwheat started looking worse. By the time she was moved she was 300lbs underweight, covered in cuts (her excuse was horses will be horses), had swollen legs, and the heels of her hooves were cut so short she couldn't walk properly. The vet told me to put her down but I wanted to try EXPENSIVE shoes before going this route. It took a year to get her in good shape again & her front hooves "can never be barefoot" due to the damage done. If you board here I recommend you visit daily and use your own farrier. The facility is gorgeous and Sarah is nice but if you can't visit daily I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Photos of my mare after being moved are attached. Oh & her husband "accidentally" used my tack despite her policy of not using others tack without permission. It wasn't damaged but a pricey brand new contour saddle pad I wouldn't want to share. Boarding here cost me thousands in vet in farrier bills.
