This Sams store is so nice. When we are in Joplin we will stop to see if they carry something we don't have at our stores. I've noticed that there beer section is always cheaper so I will usally stock up on my Heinekens from here. They always have a great meat selection as well. Really disappointed in the lunch counter since they took away the self serve kiosks. Why is it ok for us to check out our carts are selves with hundreds of dollars worth of products but not a drink or slice of pizza? The lines are always long now, there is never enough staff, they are trying but particularly in a hurry. It was so much faster with the kiosk and rarely a line. The gas station micromanagement with the cones has caused lines all the way to the street almost every day. Everyone was hoping you'd figure it out and put it back where we decided where we wanted to go. People are naturally more efficient and use common sense, your way is slow and wasteful. I recently was in a Sam's in another state and was shocked at the difference, nicer facilities, clean restrooms, no micromanagement of the gas lines and no congestion. The store was nearer, cleaner, more like a Cisco with better presentation. I didn't realize it's just ours that's unkept, messy and unattractive. read more

I ordered a half sheet cake for my husband's birthday party recently. The cake was delicious and moist. I believe this is the first time I have ever purchased a cake this large that was completely consumed. Usually people take a piece and take one bite and throw the rest away. This did not happen with this cake. Received a lot of compliments from my guests and everyone wanted to know where I had bought it. Highly recommend their cakes! read more

Oklahoma liquor laws are so backwards, and overpriced even at the discount stores ! I had heard about Sams liquor department and made a trip over to stock up on the Staples and add to my ready to drink wine collection! This place did not disappoint at least 25% cheaper than Oklahoma so worth the drive if you're going to go deep! I posted my receipt in the photos ...that's how serious I am about saving money on booze ! FYI ... We went in to get hearing aids for someone with a limited income. The advertise a $300 aid. The hearing doctor said a hearing aid was needed for one year. The individual who helped us said both ears were needed and would only show the top of the line. $2000 each with added insurance and accessories. (Insurance, cleaning box, batteries ...:). Ouch. I was excited when they updated their cafe! I loved their pretzels, pizzas and hotdogs. But the food changed and not in a good way. The pretzels were hard and when I went to the front to tell them the guy already knew what was wrong, I also overheard someone complaining about the fries and the manager said she was sick of people complaining about the fries.. well if multiple people are complaining about the same thing then it's the food. I know of a lot of people who go here for lunch and I can imagine this decreasing. I have to mention that they do sell Berkshire pork and Wagyu beef so I have to give it an additional star for that! I like SAMs but you do have to watch their prices. Milk is almost always cheaper, a lot cheaper than Walmart or other stores. On other things you sometimes don't really save any money because you are buying name brands when the same stuff (manufactured and distributed from the same exact address, look on the packaging) is less expensive in generic at other stores. Their pizzas and cheese sticks are really good. One last thing, SAMs has the best steaks around. Personally, I will take a pack of their Angus steaks over any butcher shop steaks in this area! read more

I enjoy shopping at Sam's Club although the lack of product at times especially in their premade salads and deli area becomes quite frustrating especially if that's what you're going to do say stop off and pick up their chicken salad and when you get there there's no chicken salad it's all gone. read more

Sam's Club pharmacy violates HIPAA and would not give a flu shot to a young disabled person after filing the request online a day before. The clerk said the insurance was not valid. I contacted the insurance company and everything was in effect. I fully intend to file a complaint with the Americans with Disabilities Coalition. read more

Family have been members for 30+ years. They have an identity and a way of doing business which may not be perfect, but it works overall and we get what we want eventually. I had a single tire ordered and was given a call that it was in. I was told to just drop by, and they would fit me in to get it installed. So, I show up at 6:05PM and wait about 10 minutes until someone finally comes to the Tire and Auto desk. 6:15PM by now. He REFUSES to do the install, because they have two vehicles they're already putting tires on. I say no problem, I don't mind waiting. He again reiterates they have two vehicles and they close at 7 and the vehicles will take them up to that time. I again say I don't mind waiting, but he still refuses. So I have him call the manager over, because this was NOT "fitting me in." Assistant Manager Johnny (real name) not so kindly told me that there was absolutely nothing he could do, despite the fact I had showed up 45 minutes before the Tire Center closed. I told him this was very lousy customer service, and he said I could call 1-800 Walmart because store hours were more important than customer service, they couldn't fit me in, despite there being over 40minutes until closing of the tire center, and that he would not let the tire center people stay even one minute over to help a customer. I told him again this was very lousy service, at which point he dismissed the one attendant there, didn't even tell him to schedule an appointment with me, and walked away from me saying to call 1-800 Walmart, which, by the way, I found out isn't even the correct number for Sam's Club Customer Service. So while I'm on the phone in my car to the Walmart phone number and talking to the representative, the Tire and Auto guys finish up with the two cars I was working on. This was 6:40. IT DOESN'T TAKE 20 MINUTES TO PUT ON ONE SINGLE TIRE!!!! But no, they closed the garage door and finished up for the night. Shortly after this, the Walmart representative on the phone tells me she can't file the complaint because she's not the right service and that she has to transfer me to Sam's customer service. I tell you, it's been a long time since I've been that mad. First the Tire and Auto rep lied to me and said they would be busy until they close. Then, Assistant Manager Johnny showed me that apparently neither he nor Sam's cares about customers before showing me he doesn't care about customer service AT ALL by not even trying to resolve my issue and just walking away, telling me to call the 800 number. Yeah, real nice customer service there. I'm director of an online business, and if we treated our customers like that, we wouldn't be in business very long at all. But I guess my one membership doesn't mean a thing to Assistant Manager Johnny and Tire representative at the Joplin's Sams. I will NOT be renewing my membership. There are plenty of other brick and mortar stores that will ignore, marginalize, treat me like crap, and lie to me for free. I don't have to pay for the privilege. Thanks Assistant Manager Johnny for showing me the true value of being a Sam's Club member-- which is there apparently is none in your store. read more

This place always has the most rare interesting fruit in town. Today I found something called kiwi berries there. They're very good. In the beginning of June they had honeycots, the best apricot I've ever had. And Sam's always has new unique flavors of pluots & apriums. They also have the most affordable dates in town (16 cents per ounce compared to over twice that at Price Cutter & Fox Farm), and the cheapest raw nuts in Joplin (about 27c/oz for almonds & walnuts compared to about 37c/oz at Walmart). Plus the free samples on Fridays are fun. I'm giving them only 4 stars because of the ridiculous practice of charging membership, luckily I have a friend with a card. Drive over an hour to get to bentonville Sam's. Rude staff except for housekeeping. Waited in self checkout for help with one item. Staff looked at us and ignored us. Had to yell and wave arms for help. Then finally some lazy lady came over and she was in no rush. Very rude. I asked about staff ignoring us and she said you have to have a key and they have no key. I said you fixed it without a key. was she rude because we did self checkout and there was 4 of them standing by a register? Was she rude because she was a a different skin color then me? Wrote corporate and said will respond in 24 hours. 4 days later nothing. Will not go to Fayetteville Sam's again. Other stores closer. Zero stars for service. 1 for cleanliness. Almost 2 hour wait time for a passport picture. Most ridiculous SAMs club I have been to in the country. We had to leave after hearing this. Service is not good as well, especially in the electronics section. I spent almost 45 minutes trying to buy an iPad last year. Produce is ALWAYS bad the day or two after I buy it. I've found some good deals on clothes so no complaints there. Sometimes you pay more for food items than you do at Walmart. The tires are only cheaper if you catch the free install and $$ off at the same time. Otherwise be careful and savvy about what you buy at Sam's. And if you buy produce eat it right away! read more

Had a cart attendant watch me struggle for 5 minutes to load the Christmas tree I just purchased. After I had it loaded and strapped down he comes up and asks if I have a receipt for my tree. I showed him and asked why he asked. He said he had just been told by a manager to do so. I asked for him to have that manager come talk to me. I found him inside later talking to a cashier, who said she hadn't asked him to look at my receipt but that it was policy. (He lied to me straight up) I asked if it was policy to not offer to help load and why oh why would you have a temp interact with customers. I drive an old truck, need a haircut and don't dress that well but I bet dollars to doughnuts if I'd been loading a new vehicle I wouldn't have been singled out. read more
