We contracted with Dennis Lovan to build a custom 32-sided, 41-foot diameter cedar-sided wood-framed yurt cabin ("Yurbin") with a second story loft and a 22-foot high vaulted ceiling. It's a "geometric nightmare" for most builders. Just about every aspect is custom as there are very limited right angles in the home. Just looking at the vaulted ceiling compound angles would give any normal trim carpenter an ulcer. We needed an exceptional finish subcontractor to do the vaulted T&G pine great room ceilings, interior & exterior doors, base trim, stair railings, window wraps, mullions, bed and bathroom cedar ceilings, bathroom vanities, pocket doors, kitchen cabinets with crown mouldings, kitchen and laundry pantries, closets, and utility room trim. Byron Hatfield of Hatfield Construction Services was selected based on a reference, verified work quality, and estimated price. He not only accepted the challenge, but embraced it. That noted, I can tell you that Byron was meticulous beyond our expectations. His focus on details, precision and creativity is amazing. He solicited our input about details we didn't even realize needed additional consideration. His creativity included designing a "sunburst" feature that was added to the T&G pine ceiling around a 6-foot diameter glulam skylight ring that is literally the center of everyone's attention as they walk in the door. We asked Byron to do additional work beyond our original scope after realizing the value of his work. He was fair and reasonable in change order pricing, and allowed me to work collaboratively with him to stay within our budget (I'll also confirm he was nice enough not to run me off my own project while "collaborating"). He worked extended hours to help us maintain our project completion schedule. In summary, I'd say Byron's more of an artistic millwright than a carpenter. My wife and I consider ourselves blessed with not only being the owners of a beautiful custom home, but also a new friendship. We can't recommend him enough. Thank you - thank you - thank you Byron!

They are licensed and bonded unlike another company that said they were but weren't. I would highly recommend them if you need your house painted. We've had bad experiences in the past so we were delighted to have a great one! They were hard working and reliable. They came when they said they were coming and finished the job in a timely manner. They were conscious, careful, great attention to detail. Johnny and Javier have a great work ethic, are kind and Johnny is a great communicator. I'm sure Javier is a great communicator. They stepped in quickly last summer when another contractor was unable to complete the work and finished the exterior paint job during a week we were away on vacation. Came home to a wonderful finished product. Brent also returned to do touch-up which was appreciated. Anthony just was out to paint exterior and interior of the new front door and sidelights that completed the job and he was absolutely terrific! Anthony was at our place for an entire day -- more than he certainly expected. He was polite, professional, understanding (the a/c went out during his visit!) and the finished product is beautiful.
