I was involved in a car accident and came for a cortisone shot and now a plasma injection. Every time I've set up an appointment, at least 5, they are ALWAYS late to see me. Minimum is 30 minutes waiting after check-in. Can't help but think this place is cramming as many people they can to maximize money. I don't feel this place values their customers or their time. I would recommend to seek other places that focus on their patients, not their revenue. read more

Parking is confusing. It makes more sense to park at Kmart and cross the street to here. There are a bunch of signs that say not to do this though. I parked at the parking lot and went into what I thought was the main entrance because there's a staff member who checked my temperature and and asked me COVID-19 questions. When I tried to go to the orthopedic office it turns out I was in the wrong building. It took me a while and asking a few other staff members to finally get to the correct place, I had to use the elevator, so glad there was hand sanitizer at the orthopedics office. When the left I went out the door of the orthopedics office and no one is checking temperatures or taking any COVID-19 precautions. Came here to get my back and hip checked after an auto accident and the staff were kind and knowledgeable. I got my X rays done here and the nurse is super nice and friendly. I asked for a copy of my x rays and they were kind enough to print them out for me too. The staff are wearing masks and there is hand sanitizer on the counters so I felt that it was pretty clean. But since I was lying down on the x ray table/bed and that elevator ride, I did go home and shower and change, juuuuuust in case. read more

My insurance referral said Dr. Eldringoff (Dr. E) so I made the appointment with him. He looked at the MRI results and then examined my knee and took x-rays from the back office. The recommendation was a shot and PT. When I got insurance authorization for the shot, it was from Dr. Unal. I figured it was just for the shot but then I also received PT referral from him as well. When I called the office, they tried to convince me I saw Dr. Unal, not Dr. E. I looked up both doctors on the internet and found their pictures. I did see Dr E! Then the PT referrals came from both Dr. E and Dr. Unal. How can I get a referral from a doctor whom, I supposedly never met??? The whole experience was frustrating so I decided to go with another orthopedic group. I left messages twice with the medical records department I would like copies of the x-rays. I waited days with no response. I had to get my primary doctor to order x-rays for me. I'll never go back to them, again. read more

Front desk staff is disorganized and spacey. Customer service is TERRIBLE and wait time is normally 2 hours! Over the last year, I've been to this office 5 times, and it's been a nightmare every single time. I would either call to make an appointment or set a date and time at my previous visit for the next visit. I would never receive an appointment reminder, and many times when I call in the day or several days before to confirm my appointment, I was always told that my appointment had been moved to a different date without my knowledge and no one had called me to tell me my appointment had been moved. WTH? I would come to my appointment 10-15min early, and I would still have to wait over 2 hours to be seen for my appointment! What a waste time!!! Dr Babak is not only a skilled and outstanding surgeon but extremely patient, kind and understanding. He's worked on my right shoulder twice repairing the rotator cuff and the long head of the bicep which became detached and I cannot feel other than he had done above and beyond what was possible. His office staff are very good and decent. His operations manager Haydn is wonderfully kind and understanding and beyond helpful. I had to go home and drive back for the Dr. to fill it out and she had the nerve to say, the Dr. won't get to it until the end of the day cause I told her I was waiting for the paper. I am so disappointed, I Have never seen so much back and forth with a Doctor before. I thought Doctors are supposed to help their patients especially when they are in pain, discomfort. I had to find a new doctor for three reasons: 1) Out of the three office visits, I only saw Dr Samimi on the first visit. The two other office visits were with an assistant. 2) Considering the last two office visits were just for cortisone shots, I found treatment fees charged against my insurance to be a little exorbitant. 3) As of January 2023, I am still receiving billing for treatment done in November of 2021. That's two years ago! What the....? There were also multiple claims charged against my insurance for the same date. What kind of bs billing system do these guys have? Thanks, but no thanks. I have been a long-time patient with Samimi Orthopedic Group. I came in with a shoulder injury, and it was confirmed I needed a reverse total shoulder replacement. I've had some complications - through no fault of anyone's - and that's why I've been with them a while and can assess them thoroughly! I just know God has me on a journey and sometimes we need to go through valleys to appreciate the mountaintops. My medical treatment has been excellent, my care team treatment has been compassionate, my office visit treatment has been outstanding. Each and every person I am in contact with at Samimi's has been encouraging, caring, knowledgeable, and friendly. They have horrible customer service. The orthopedic requested to get my MRI last month and they didn't provide my insurance company enough details in order to approve It. The authorization was rejected last month and it has been almost a month and they have no fixed the issue yet. I called more than 4 times to follow up and they tell me same excuse" the person who is working on it is not here or she is working on it "They do not even call patients and tell them an update for their cases . I have Cigna PPO and it should not take them that long to fix the problem. Overall poor customer service read more

I had an accident resulting in a separation grade 5 of the acromio and the clavicle bones. Dr. Samimi immediately recommended surgery. Within a week they scheduled me for surgery. I will probably have not even a scar after the great repair doctor Samimi did. The bone was literally sticking out and after seeing the x-ray after surgery, I was amazed. Dr. Samimi did a great job putting my shoulder back in place. Ana and Sydney were extremely patients with me and all of my questions following the surgery were answered. Tried to contact the office for nearly two months to schedule an appointment, left messages, tried scheduling my appointment online which they were supposed to confirm and I never received an email back. Even had our primary care dr office try to contact them with no answer. Finally got through to them today and they didn't care about anything I said about how I couldn't get through, no apologies or anything at all. Because of all the time that passed our authorization expired so she said to call back after fixing that. I asked if there was any other number to contact them because of how hard it is to get through, she said no and when I asked if I had to drive there to make an appointment she said yes...seriously??? The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. Dr. Babak Samimi was nice, but he wasn't open to hearing what I had to say about my condition. As I was explaining my situation, he implied that I was trying to blame my previous doctors for my situation when it wasn't like that at all. Although, if someone messed up and it can be proven, it becomes a statement of fact, they messed up, so it is their fault--End of story! I certainly have a right to have my feelings about it, because after all it is my body. But, I wasn't giving him my commentary, I was telling him the facts, not blaming anyone like he had expressed. He seemed surprised after his little speech, to hear that certain tests had not been performed and certain issues had not been looked at during the course of my previous treatments, thus proving that I was right. In short my condition could have been prevented with a proper course of treatment, unlike him telling me before that it was unavoidable and no one's fault. However, but the damage had already been done. I felt that he judged me based on my age and what I wrote down as my profession: perhaps, thinking that my job, not my career was the sum of me, which was a very unfortunate mistake. I put that down for insurance purposes only. He never acknowledged that someone who knows him, fairly well, had recommended me to him. He seemed surprised, and his reaction read like; How could you possibly know me or someone that I'm acquainted with? I know that he certainly factored in my insurance at the time and made a judgment based on that as well, just as he did in the case of Jeff S. I left his office that day depressed and very sad. The sadness that was caused by this interaction with him bothered me for months. The last thing I needed when facing a big decision like surgery was to deal with cronyism, medical politics and for someone, (another doctor, no less), to make me feel worse than I already did about my situation. I'm sure he's a really great doctor for some, and it could be because he's still young, but his attitude in telling me to basically, get over it, and by making light of my situation, again when he didn't have any facts was disturbing. Even if he is a doctor, I could have made judgments about him, but I didn't. It's too bad that he didn't do the same for me. He'll learn one day that everything in life, isn't at first what it appears, and that there's more to everyone than just what meets the eye. read more

I was lucky I was referred to Dr. Samimi's office from Smart Clinic in Industry as I didn't personally know of any surgeons who could operate on my torn achilles tendon. There are two Dr. Samimi's: a father and a son. I was seen by Dr. Samimi, the father. He confirmed that I did have an achilles tendon tear and needed surgery. He explained to me how he was going to sew the tendon back together again. I'm summarizing in my own words here, but the sewing consisted of 3 separate parts. Part one was to initially tighten the two ends together. The second tightened the two ends even tighter together. The third consisted of multiple smaller loops between the tear site. Also luckily, there was an opening for the surgery room and team to repair it that afternoon (otherwise, I would have had to wait 2 more days). After checking to see if my insurance covered part of the surgery, I limped down one flight to get my surgery. After paperwork, waiting, and the nurses getting me prepped for surgery, I was rolled into the Doctor's Hospital OR and the anesthesiologist put me under for my surgery. When I woke up, I asked the nurse if they operated on me and she confirmed that the surgery was done. I was in a hard cast for a month and it wasn't too painful, just annoying. The most annoying parts was the difficulty in taking showers and just getting myself around with crutches. I went here multiple times post-op for check-ups. Each step of the way, Dr. Samimi clearly let me know what was going on. A month after surgery, Dr. Samimi gave me the option of wearing a walking boot instead of wearing another cast. YES! The price of the walking boot unfortunately might not be covered by my insurance, but I elected to wear the walking boot since I was so tired of my cast. Another two months later, Dr. Samimi cleared me from having to wear the walking boot. He allowed me to wear regular shoes and walk around. He told me if I had anything else I needed from him to come by and see him. Otherwise, I was ready to go to the next stage of my healing, which was physical therapy, and didn't need check-ups with him anymore. That last appointment was a week ago. I'm walking with a slight limp since my leg is weak and looking forward to physical therapy. I've received some status updates from my insurance and looks like they'll be covering a huge chunk of the cost. The amount I have to pay up to this date seems reasonable. The office also told me that if I had any problems financially in regards to payment schedule that they would be amendable. Overall, I had a positive experience with Dr. Samimi and I would recommend him with this type of surgery. Thanks Dr. Samimi for successfully operating and connecting my achilles tendon. read more

I visited Dr. Samimi twice for cortisone injections. The first time was a few weeks ago when I had a lot of pain in my elbow. He recommended that I receive cortisone injections. I watched him load the syringe for the first injection with anesthetic and then stick it into an empty bottle of cortisone with only a bubble inside. I thought maybe I was mistaken since he was the doctor. But then I had relief in my elbow for about three days and then the pain was right back. I went back today because I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. After waiting 45 minutes, I saw Dr. Samimi and he asked about my pain. When I told him it came back after three days, he was surprised and said I needed some more injections and he would have to first get authorization from my health care provider. I did not authorize him to do that because at this point I do not trust him. Be very careful about visiting this doctor who will keep you sick to keep his money coming in. read more

Such a great experience!! I broke my ankle on Feb 10 2014 but because of a laps in my insurance I wasn't able to see an orthopedic doctor until almost a month later. I was given my referal on a Wednesday called to make an appointment that day and got in to see the doctor the very next day at 10am. Greeted by the first office staff they where very welcoming, I was taken back right away only about a 10 minute wait I was filling out my paperwork as a new patient. If I could give Dr. Babak Samimi, MD 10 stars I would. He is not only the best surgeon in the area and surrounding area, but he is genuinely a very good person. I had a complicated break in my wrist, which involved three pins and a plate just to stabilize the joint. Dr. Samimi preformed a flawless surgery along with some of the best patient follow up I have ever experienced. A week after my surgery, I had question for him. I called and left a VM, and within 10 min, I had three missed calls from him. That's simply unheard of, I would know, I work with Drs for a living. Excellent staff and Dr's, Rosie is always there and willing to go the extra mile to get the patient the help they need and that is the #1 key at a Doctor's office. The front desk staff are the patients' first opinion and contact. Rosie and front desk staff are always friendly and very helpful when I call with a question or an insurance need. Yes you do have to wait a bit in the lounge, but it is worth the wait to have a Dr that will spend time with you and has a great bedside manner. I believe Dr Samimi son and dad are aware their patients may have to wait a bit, but since I have been going there they have upgraded the waiting room and added a working TV to pass the time. Since my injuries I have seen multiple doctors and none of them have treat me and take care of me as well as the staff and doctors at Samimi Orthopedic Group. Coming from a Company that is 150% customer service based and is #1 in customer's expectations I have to say that both Doctors Samimi are right there with the top. I've been taking my mom for her knees and shoulders for a few yrs now. The Drs. are great, they take their time with their patients and they listen. The only problem is the receptionist, they do take a long time to call you back for insurance approvals. You also do need to be calling them instead of they calling you. Came in today to get a hand fracture checked out and was immediately assisted by Dr David Eldringhoff. David was super knowledgeable and very experienced, he quickly looked at my hand and knew something was wrong, my previous doctor had told me to let the fracture heal naturally but the fracture was bent at such a huge angle it would have affected my hands ability to perform it's everyday tasks. Since it had been three weeks since the initial incident, David knew he had to act quick. He immediately proceeded to realigning the bones and secured it with a splint to make sure this time it heals properly. This was not your typical doctor visit where they talk to you for 30 seconds and make you pay an outrageous fee or tell you they are going to refer you to a specialist and you're stuck with another appointment that's weeks away. David knew exactly what to do and was able to solve the issue straight aways. I would definitely recommend Dr David Eldringoff to anyone in need of assistance. read more

Dr. Samimi and his staff are wonderful! I had my first appointment late last year. I ruptured my achielles playing soccer sometime in March 2014. Always stretch! I went to a podiatrist first but all they did was recommend a walking boot for three months. That treatment did not work for me. I was glad I found this office, Dr. Samimi recognized my symptoms right away and immediately suggested surgery. I was still able to walk and drive but I would have chronic foot pain and could not run or play soccer. He said I can do without surgery but it would come down to living two different lives. One without surgery where I wouldnt be able to run or play soccer or a life with surgery where I can work to getting better and get back to living a healthier life. Needless to say, I opted for the surgery and Im so glad I did. The staff is great at scheduling my appontments. Most my appointments are either on a Wednesday or Friday because that is when he is not in surgery. Shout out to Mary for scheduling my surgery, checking my blood tests and locking in the cadaver I needed. A big thanks to Hayden for always smiling and being helpful. She got my disabilty papers done in a snap. Big help! Dr. Samimi knows his stuff. He talked about his plan to sew up the achielles and wrap it in a cadavar to really secure it. Even mentioned the nerves that could be affected with this surgery. I asked if it would be 100% back to normal and he told me, nothing can be 100% but the surgery will get me to a better situation than I was before. Dr. Samimi is honest and gives it to you straight. Guess what!? My chronic pain is gone! I can go back to circling the mall as much as I want. Dr. Samim is knowledgeable and trustworthy. Before I knew it, i did my blood work and the day of surgery was upon us. I was in and out of the hospital on the same day. I was in a splint for about 5 weeks and in a walking boot for another three weeks. The crutches were not fun but I got to catch up on my netflix. Buy a shower cover, shower chair and shower hose. Trust me, it will help! Got prescribed pain meds but it made me pee more often. By day three I was like screw the pain meds, it doesnt hurt that bad. Plus making it to the bathroom in crutches was like an obstacle course. Soon enough, I was walking on my own two feet. My scar looks good, just the bottom half looked a little funky. I think because its that area with excess skin for range of motion. Doc recommended physical therapy twice a week and it made a world of difference. I went to Body Synergy in Pasadena. I will post yelp review for them too. Four months later, I feel a whole lot better. Chronic pain is gone but still not 100% but Im sure with time and hardwork, I will be out on the soccer field soon enough. Im glad my insurance was able to cover a majority of the surgery. So make sure to get insurance where the doc is listed as a provider. The only down side was that I had to wait close to 45 minutes to be seen every time I went to see the doc but that just shows he is in high demand. So be patient because he is worth the wait. When it got really busy, the Dad doctor was very proactive in moving along the patients. Parking is free and they are located on the second floor. My appointment was pleasant and efficient. Front desk team was friendly and welcoming and I saw Shana PA. She is awesome. Bedside manner was great. The young lady that took x-rays was also wonderful. Yes, they are very busy but that is how good Dr. Samimi and the other doctors are. Doctors are all very nice and friendly and take the time to explain things to you if you don't understand. I would not recommend Dr. Samimi. I went to Dr. Bob Alavy because I had tremendous foot pain in both feet. After an MRI and multiple X-Rays and visits to Dr. Alavy, he had no idea what to do to help me out. He referred me upstairs to Dr. Samimi. I went up and met with both Dr. Samimi's and they told me that there was nothing they could do. They told me that I would need some kind of extensive surgery and referred me to a different surgeon. I was in their office for a total of 10 minutes and they charged me $225 for doing NOTHING! I I tried contacting the surgeon that they referred me to for weeks and they never got back to me. I ended up finding my own surgeon through my insurance and it turns out that I NEVER NEEDED SURGERY! I have arch supports now and I am back to normal. I wouldn't trust anything these guys have to say. read more
