During this time, I learned that not everyone likes a do-it-yourself like me. Some even said I wanted, "free work." Not true! However, the current installed prices spoke to me. I grabbed my tools! Pulling a local permit as a home owner/builder in Florida, I installed a 2 ton (24k) ACIQ-24-HP32 condenser and ACIQ-24-AH32 air handler, and related mechanical. This system replaced a 26 year old 1.5 ton (18K) Trane XE-1000 condenser and TWGO18A air handler that was showing its age -- like me. One of my main hardware vendors, HVAC direct, patiently worked with me as I learned the new system requirements. With help from Isaiah Luke Appliance Repair to do the final commissioning of the system, the new ACIQ inverter system passed local inspection! The new system is a noticeably quieter and produces considerable heat split by comparison with the previous system. The fact that the ACIQ has a higher BTU rating, (24K) a higher seer rating (18), and yet uses smaller breakers, 30A down to 25A on the outside unit and 30 down to 15 amps for the inside unit and doesn't dim my lights when it runs, says it all. I contacted this company to service a Thermador six burner gas cooktop. The burners were all…read moreproducing a very high flame even at the lowest settings and it was very difficult to simmer or cook food on low heat. Steve (and co-worker Sean) arrived today and efficiently 1) determined whether the gas source connection was appropriate, 2) confirmed the regulator was installed and functioning property 3) educated me about the location of the emergency cut off, and 4) adjusted the burners to just the right level of flame at the lowest simmer setting. This was done by accessing and turning a very well hidden adjustment setting behind the controls / faceplate of the cooktop, We were anticipating having to order parts and he was able to solve all of the mysteries and issues without the purchase of parts and in one visit. Steve also educated me about how to better maintain some of the surface parts for better performance and longevity (no water on steel components, keeping tiny vent holes clean, etc.). We appreciate Steve's level of the expertise and efficiency in getting this fixed.
