Was this on someone's property and they wanted to be awake? Set the day and time and headed out there. At some point if you forget you are in texas and everything is a drive and roads may appear to lead to nowhere, don't panic. You will get there and see why. Everyone there is warm and friendly and obviously pationate about where they work and what they do. They are more than willing to answer all your questions and educate you as well. The tour is important and it takes around an hour. They don't take government money which enables them to do what they do with the animals best interest at heart at all times. These animals are well cared for and the staff are really dedicated to them. I suggest at least a donation of $10 per person to help them out. That is a deal for a tour. They also have a souvenir shop that you may want to shop in as well. This place is for anyone that likes animals, seems like a good place for ag students to visit, seniors, families, or anyone literally capable of riding in a cart and following behavior expectations such as not playing in the waste or pulling the tails or smacking the donkeys. Wear appropriate shoes so you can get close.
