On top of that, I went it for a re-crowning procedure and it only cost me $86, as opposed to the $120-$150 other places were charging. This is definitely the best dental experience I've ever had (and that's a weird thing to say)! I want to bring my family here for their dental needs even if I move to Raleigh/Durham. After years of dealing with what I've described, I'm finally done going here... I'm a medical student who comes into town on some weekends and holidays with very limited free/flexible time. The day before my scheduled appointment, I went to confirm the appointment, and I was taken to a page that said my appointment been cancelled - with no prior notice. Once the office was open the next day, I called, and they only had record of me having an appointment a week later (when I will no longer be in town) than my scheduled appointment - despite the emails I have confirming the date/time that I scheduled for. The staff have been nothing but lovely. I truly blame this on whatever terrible corporate management owns this place with likely no knowledge of patient care or customer relations. Instead, I'm sure they only care about data/stats/profit and force providers to take on more patients in a day than is reasonable. Any observant and long-term patient could see that the clinic has high staff turnover and is understaffed regularly. Clearly, whatever they're doing isn't working for staff or patients.

When checking in, the receptionist had a bad attitude and rudely stated that she "had called to confirm the appointment yesterday and the day before but nobody answered." I replied that I hadn't gotten a call from them. Come to find out, they were calling my husband's phone number, not mine. There was no apology given for her mistake in jumping on me about something I had no control over. After the cleaning, the dental assistant asked my daughter if she would like fluoride brushed onto her teeth, as if it was part of the service, and my daughter accepted. No mention of it costing anything. Upon checking out, I was charged $62!!!! When I complained about the hidden charge & that the assistant never mentioned one word about it costing money, the receptionist dryly responded that she would "talk to her about it" as if that would change the fact that I just had to pay $62 for what should have been a free teeth cleaning visit. They knew I was upset and didn't help in any way to remedy the situation. My children are not new patients there, but the experience was so terrible that we will go to a different dental clinic from now on.

She handed me documents to fill out without giving me eye contact. I felt maybe she was annoyed because I was running late ( I was supposed to be there at 8 am and I arrived at 8:10) I passed the location twice. She gave me firm direct to complete forms in front of her. So I did. Another customer walks in and She SMILES and greets them with a nice Hello. So I was almost positive I didn't get that because I was late. She continues to talk to the customer over me so I ask should I step aside she responds no stay there and fill out the paperwork. Once I was done she slide me more papers but told me "you can go over there and fill those out" so I went and sat down and proceeded to fill out my forms. I'm a matter of maybe 2 minutes she walks out and directs my son. My 10 year old son to go to the back. I'm sitting there filling out the forms she never looks at me. I rush and get up To hand her the paperwork she took the paperwork and looked over it still avoiding eye contact with me. So then after a few breaths I asked her is there a problem with me. She said no why. Then I explained that It was our very first time there and I was unaware of how they handle things there and I would appreciate if she will communicate with me. She looked at me and said what do you mean. I said you directed my son to go to the back but you never looked at me or communicated to me about where he was going and why he was going there. As a parent I feel that you should have explained to me what was taking place. She never informed me they was taking him to the back to be prepped. She just just directing him to go, leaving me out of the loop. She stood up and said " I am trying accommodate you because you're late and my focus is to get him an out and back to school on time normally we don't take clients after a certain amount of time I'm trying to help you". I responded I appreciate that however I'm axing you to communicate with me as a parent this is our very first time here I apologize for being late but you have not given me any kind of welcoming feeling from the moment I walk to the door. Dr. Barrett has the absolute, most gentlest and kindest of bedside manners. He took all of my concerns seriously and listened carefully to my complaints and description of pain. We made an initial plan for repair and salvage of my teeth and I appreciated the optimism. After some further x-rays we amended our plan for full removal of the problem teeth. That step I appreciated even more because it told me that Dr. Dave is always looking for the best solution for the patient. You will not be upsold on extra unneeded procedures, but you will get the right care for your problem. Dr. Barrett and the staff were *very friendly* and *very understanding* of what I was going through. I felt very safe in his care. I owe them an apology for being a little too scared during the procedure, honestly. I had to take a break from the procedures and he *listened to me* when I expressed any discomfort. To the utmost degree, Dr. Dave and the staff expressed real care and concern for my physical and emotional well-being for every visit to their office. I am eternally grateful. Shout out to dental tech Sam Wells! She is the greatest companion to have during cleaning and other procedures. She is super fun and knows her music trivia!
