On this trip - (breaks, lube chassis, balance tires) I was fairly annoyed between the service department and whoever it was at Boswell that made my appointment. I was pretty detailed in what I wanted done. None of that was received by the service department and spent about 10 minutes discussing it when I arrived. I needed to drop my wife back at work right away and just made it seem inconvenient. Once I was gone the service adviser later called me and asked about random services that printed out with the sheet to get done. I.e.: engine coolant flush, replace spark plugs and replace fluids. Josh did a good job of catching these, otherwise I think I would have had some free fluid and plugs... The more baffling part is I never asked for any of this, and why would anyone do this at 60K miles? I have no issues with plugs, misfiring etc.... I would like the appointment people to care a little more about what I am saying and actually listen. If I have another experience like this I can take my business to Child's Automotive down the road, who will do the job better and cheaper (and oem parts if I want). Josh did a good job making sure parts were not put on without my knowing about it. Kudos to him for that. Edit: Upgraded my review to 3 stars. Josh in the service department provided 5 star service, but the extra stuff I didn't want with the miscommunication between the service and appointments department (perhaps they are the same department..) was not helpful. Terrible service department. Never got any update calls of the work being done on my truck , only reason I knew about updates was because we called. We received about 4-5 different finish dates. Never offered or informed me about loaner vehicle or rentals since it was warranty work, per GM they should of offered. Service advisors would state that they were working on my vehicle on multiple different days but in reality they had not even started. Went and checked myself, and caught them in lies. After 2 months finally got my vehicle back. Would not trust this service department for anything. read more

The one star is for the service department that Sam Boswell in Enterprise Alabama has and Derrick is the guy over the technicians and he don't hold his techs accountable for messing up vehicles and wants you to pay more money toward services being done that they messed up on but denies it because my best friend took a vehicle in and left with more problems than she arrived then was denied of the technicians causing more problems to her vehicle and wanted to charge more money for services to be done and had attitudes about how they didn't cause anymore damage to her vehicle.Meanwhile missing work and kids appointments going back and forth to Enterprise and this is the 3rd time vehicle has been in their care within a 2 week period and wanted it back a 4th time til finally said she wouldnt be charged for the last service and for her to not bring the vehicle back since we don't trust his techs but the attitude after asking to speak to Josh the General manager and the owner of Sam Boswell was uncalled for so I wouldn't take anything to get worked on to Sam Boswell til they put different ppl in charge and different techs. Then the Mackenzie girl at the service department desk also comes with attitudes when being asked to speak to someone higher in charge which was Josh the GM due to the ongoing problem of my friend vehicle and kept making excuses of what Josh was doing,so I personally walked onto the sales floor asking for Josh and he was in his office as if he was so busy but wasn't so instead of y'all personal feelings to one another next time please be more professional about the customers concerns of their vehicles. read more

Sam Boswell sales department was great. They went the extra mile to make sure I got the brand new civic that I wanted all the way from Florida. However, it has been just over a year since my purchase and the maintenance department has made this dealership one that I will never work with again. I try to always bring my car to the dealerships that I buy from as far as maintenance goes because it's continued business and I should be able to trust them the most. Unfortunately, for my last simple oil change and tire rotation, the tech who worked on my car either broke the drain plug resulting in my car eventually leaking oil. Because my husband was out of town for military training and had the car, we had to take it to another Honda dealership in Brandon, FL. Here they had to fix the threads on the pan and replace the plug completely overall charging us $120+. The Brandon Honda told us that if it were their dealership that made this mistake, they would refund us no questions asked. Apparently the moral at Sam Boswell just isn't the same as they basically told us "it's too late" and to kick rocks. I will never step foot in this Honda dealership again and they will not get another penny of our business. We will spread the word to other military families as well. I've gone back and forth on writing this review for a while now but don't want anybody else to end up in the same bind I have been in. a couple of years ago I was looking for a truck and found one at Sam Boswell Honda. Now it was high mileage and I would not have even considered it if it was from an individual or a "less reputable" dealer. I was assured over and over that it had been put thru the shop and multiple inspections and it was in great shape plus they would warranty it for 3 months and 3000 miles so if there were any issues they would make it right. So foolishly I trusted that. A couple of weeks after the 3 months was up I was driving home from work and it all began to fall apart. The truck started spitting and sputtering barely staying running and barely going at all. I took it to the dealer and they said they would make it right. They kept the truck for 2 months before telling me "we can't fix it or even figure out what's wrong with it" so basically "sucks to be you pal. Every mechanic I talked to told me exactly what the problem was without even seeing the truck but the master mechanics at Sam Boswell Honda apparently couldn't figure it out or maybe they didn't want to spend the $3,000 to fix it. So we paid another shop to fix it. We have also replaced all 4 window actuators and many many more things. It is currently in the shop again and appears the only way to fix it is a new engine all of this with only around 12,000 miles put on it. I paid $10k for the truck and 4 months later when I had spent $3,000 repairing it they were gracious enough to offer me $3,000 for trade in to date we have spent at least another 10k to keep it running. When I asked if that seemed fair to them their response was "well that's what you get when you buy a used vehicle. No not usually but apparently that is what you get from Sam Boswell dealerships. They will never get another dollar of mine and hopefully this will keep someone else from making the same mistake especially in times like these when everyone is just doing their best to keep their heads above water. I know that $10k is a drop in the bucket to big dealerships but to me it's ALOT of money. I never asked for or expected a refund but I do feel like they could have tried a lil harder to make it right like if nothing else a lil better than 30% trade in value on a vehicle I bought 4 months earlier when I was trying to buy another vehicle from their dealership. I have had almost great service here in the past. I own a Hyundai now since my beloved Honda got totaled in an accident. Service is good here but can seem very slow or disinterested very often, but from experience, I know that is due to the fact they focus on one person at a time. It would be nice if they spoke to those waiting in line in the service center more and assured them they would be gotten to ASAP, that is not the case as I have myself and seen others stand there for a good bit of time before anyone even acknowledges them. The showroom and property are very clean and nice and there is always someone willing to help. No overbearing salespeople either. read more

TL;DR Honda sold car supposedly with no issues whatsoever when it has check engine light and major issues at that moment, refuse to answer questions or calls for weeks at the time Like nearly every other review here, I was assured a car was in perfect condition, but ended up needing major repairs. I arrive to pick up the supposedly newly worked on, newly purchased and spotless car... Except the detail job was very lazily done, I would have to clean it properly myself, and unbeknownst to me not properly serviced either... Directly after returning from test drive, I asked salesman if that was a check engine light that was on. He repeatedly assured me that *all* issues had been taken care of by mechanics. I get home, take a look at the owner's manual; "yep, that's a check engine light. I have Honda look at it the next morning. Turns out the catalytic converters need replacing. No one can give a definitive answer to who will end up paying for these repairs. They have me drive to a shop who tells me it will be a couple days before the parts will arrive. 20 days go by as I try every few days to get up with Nick from two different numbers, neither of which he answers or returns. I end up going in person several times to demand to know what is going on. Turns out that Honda stopped the shop from ordering the parts so they could determine if I should be the one paying for the repair. NEARLY A MONTH after I bought the car, with car payment, tag and tax all now due, they finally tell me the company will take the bill and allow the shop to order the parts. The shop does the repair, and then tells me that this isn't the end of the repairs that need attention. The spark plugs and others that I can't remember at the moment need replacement for a total of $225. Yes, this is better than the original price of the entire repair but it is not right to assure customers that cars are in perfect working condition when they have check engine lights on and many issues underneath, then pass ANY repair bill to them when it was there before the purchase. read more

The most unprofessional and unprepared staff I have ever experienced. Buying a car from these people has been a month long nightmare. I have had the car for a month and have not received my registration paperwork and the dealership has failed to send my information to the DMV and therefore I don't have a tag. The staff has no idea what their talking about and I am constantly transferred from manager to manager. WORST experience we've ever had. We went to Sam Boswell Honda to look at a Honda Odyssey and trade in our vehicle. We didn't agree on the trade in value of our car. KBB WAS $2000 more dollars. They initially offered us $2500 less then KBB. Our request was based on KBB, Carfax and Carvana and at a time when used cars are selling for top dollar. Our sales person, Kendall was absolutely wonderful. She was so sweet and answering all of our questions and doing her best. The problem we had was when the sales manager JAMIE CHRISTIAN came to the table. After telling him we would like more for our vehicle or if he could budge on his price of the used vehicle he became irrational and making a scene in front of the whole sales room. I guess he doesn't like to negotiate things (his words "I don't know what this going back and forth stuff is") but isn't that part of buying cars? If we weren't able to come to a deal, then we understood that. It was how irate he got when we didn't agree to the deal he was trying to give us. At the end he throws his hands in the air and starts raising his voice looking at everyone around us and shouting "was I rude, was I rude, was I rude". At this point we were extremely embarrassed and calmly said that's okay we will try somewhere else. Packed our three small children up and left. I got there and the CSR went behind closed doors after telling me it may not be covered because of the VIN number! No courtesy vehicle, no choice of mechanic, and, oh by the way, if the check engine light comes on, don't drive it which was why I took it to them in the first place! Not looking good. read more

I purchased a brand new Honda Civic EX in May 2016 from Sam Boswell. Being a first time buyer I really wanted to find somewhere I could trust, and I was wrong. It started off well, they gave me a great price for a vehicle that I needed. However it started going down hill from there. Once I signed the papers, and payed for the vehicle. I discovered many faults on this "new" car. There were various interior scratches and chips on the steering wheel, the front passenger safety belt component keeps popping off, and various little dents around the exterior of the car (they helped resolve a dent after some negotiating and blame on me). All of which I never ever thought I needed to inspect on a brand new car. To make things matter worse, I purchased this vehicle right before i moved to another state and again being a new car owner and had limited knowledge, I asked the them more than once about how the vehicle registration and tag would work. They told me to register it in Alabama (where I lived at the time) and once I move to Georgia in a few weeks, I simply just go in and get it done. I asked if there were any fees within that, in which they continuously replied no and it would be an easy process. Since my move to Georgia, I learned the taxes I would have to pay in order to register my vehicle here would total more than $1500. If I had known the lack of honesty in customer service and the quality of their vehicles, I would have NEVER bought my car there and don't plan on doing business with them ever again. Disappointed and angry are the only things I could say about it all. I expected much more, and I do not recommend this place to anyone. Pay that $500-$1000 extra somewhere else and save yourself from a nightmare, and that way you would at least get a brand new perfect car you payed for. read more

Two years now and I'll never get another car from there, NEVER! Uppity snobs, never any attention, I must be the worse human being they ever had walk into there service dept. I have read all the reviews and I've got to say they are a 180 from my experience. I live in Panama City, Florida where hurricane Michael came ashore. Three days prior to the storm my wife had cancer surgery. We made it through the storm PTL. However, she had to be taken by ambulance to Capital Regional Hospital in Tallahassee, Fl. for bloodclots issues. She was released after 5 days and we headed back into the disaster awaiting us in PC. We had to move several times due to no power or mold issues. All that time my wife required home health care, but none was to be found, so we were on our own. The storm took out my just purchased used CR-V that I just five months earlier bought at a local dealership. I really liked the car as I even asked the damage assesment agent to not total it. I tried the dealerships around PC for a replacement car and even in other places, but all the good cars were picked over by the time I could devote some of my attention away from caring for my wifes medical needs. Then I went on the internet and stummbled upon Sam Boswell Honda in Enterprise, Alabama. I made contact with a salesman named Roger. I gotta tell you at this point I was not feeling good about used car salesmen or car dealerships. But after explaining my dillema to Roger he assurred me that he would do his best to find me a good used Honda at a price I could afford and bring it to me to boot. Now that got my attention. Not only did he find me a great used CR-V EX-L but he did so at a cost well below any dealership I had been to previously. I told him I liked what I saw on the screen, but needed to have him drive it and give me his assessment. At this point Im thinking to myself, "Man I must be really desperate to ask a used car salesman to drive a car hes trying to sell me and to think he would tell me the truth about it." He did test drive it and told me it was a really nice looking car and drove very well. I asked him if he had it driven to me in PC and if I didn't like it what would happen? He said, "Tell the driver to take it back and it wouldn't cost me a dime". So I told him to send it down to PC. This was a first for me as I don't like buying something I havent put my own eyes on and driven. When the very congenial gentleman arrived with his return driver and car to my house, I was amazed at how great the condition of the car was and how nice the drivers were. Well, I signed the paperwork paid him with a check and off they went. Now I am a proud new owner of a Honda Certified vehicle that is better than the one I lost to the storm and cost less too. I know the owner of Sam Boswell Honda dealership has sent two crews of men down to PC to help tarp leaking roofs, and to do other helpful things for our storm victims. Now thats what a dealership should be like. I know looking at the other reviews all this sounds very unlikely. But I'm telling you it is all as true as true can be. I am very, very greatful to Roger and to the dealership as a whole for how they helped us out. I am very pleased with this dealership. I bought a used car, the salesman advised that new breaks, and a popping noise would be fixed. 2,000 miles after being bought the front end noise started again they advised they would only pay labor and not the part. Mr. Christian... Please forgive this lengthy email...but I feel that this is needed in order to truly show how dysfunctional your Sales Dept has been with me from day one. I have never in my 60 years of life had the misfortune of having to deal with the level of ineptness that goes along with the 3 individuals I have been dealing with. On November 13, 2020 I left message via CarGuru to be contacted about the 2013 Cadillac SRX with only 21000 miles for Sale at Sam Boswell Honda in Enterprise, Al. I received an email from Sales Manager Jamie Christian stating that a Will Marler would be in touch. I was the one having to initiate conversation with Will. He always seemed to be somewhat out of touch...never knowing where the vehicle was or the status of it. After two days I was informed it was still in the body shop. That was news to me. I was told I would get a return call once Will could find out when the car would be ready to sell so that I could drive down from Atlanta to test drive the vehicle and hopefully purchase it. Never again did I hear from Will. My best friend Nick Bowden, who went to school with ONeal Boswell...telephoned him on Monday November the 16th...sharing my frustration thus far. I am once again referred to Jamie Christian. I call Mr. Christian the same day of the 16th...explaining my situation to him. Mr Christian states that he would check the status of things and get back to me. Again...I have to reinitiate contact. I travelled down to Enterprise yesterday to get to the bottom of things. First I get a call from Joshua Byal..sp...stating the vehicle was available for sale. I then get a call from Mr. Christian stating that the vehicle is in the shop and a deposit was taken from someone the day before to purchase the vehicle. THE DAY BEFORE??? I have been working on the purchase for almost a week. I have the emails...texts and voicemails to prove my point. Since correspondence from these gentlemen was via voicemail...I immediately returned the calls. NO ONE HAS EVEN BOTHERED TO RETURN MY PHONECALLS...NO ONE!! I am punished for the incompetence of your sales staff. How truly unbelievable this entire situation has been. The only reason this place isn't getting 1 star is because their sales department is friendly and great. The salesman who sold us our truck was attempting to detail it when the detailing guy decided he didn't want to do his job. We were told to bring it back for a proper detail another time. However they only get 2 stars because their service department is atrocious. The absolute worst we have ever dealt with and before the army my husband was a automobile mechanic. We dropped off our truck on A Friday for a repair that was owed us during the sale. The seat didn't work right and needed a new part which had already been ordered. Part of the sales agreement was that the seat would be fixed on their dime. So we drop the truck off, my husband let's them know about the oil leaking out and we put in a service request for that. We are told that the truck would be ready by COD Monday. Monday comes and no call. my husband has to call them to get updates and is on hold waiting for someone who actually knows anything, no one does. We don't get the truck back until the following Saturday. Over a week. The entire week my husband had to call and get updates. They replaced the seat with the wrong color, said they were going to rewrap it and never did AND never told my husband they didn't until we go to pick it up. Not just that but it wasn't until midweek they even looked at the oil problem because they "didn't know" service was requested after my husband brought it up everytime they called. We have never in our lives dealt with such an unorganized, unhelpful, slow, company before and we will never go back. Our vehicles will be serviced elsewhere. wow I just got scammed from the sale personnel from Sam Boswell Honda contacted the BBB as well .I made a deal on a TRLE and worked on the sale price for over a week with the sale rep Trey rivers the deal sounded to good to be true .so my wife and I decided to do the deal on TRLE they ran my credit and put insurance on the wrong truck the RTLT so when I showed up to the dealer I noticed it was not the same truck we made the deal on they did the old switch trick and tried to give me a cheaper model. then what we made the deal on .contacted the insurance company . These guys are your typical small town scammers. Sam Boswell adds "exclusive packages" of stuff that people don't need to every one of their new cars like splash guards and paint protection. These should be optional but Sam Boswell makes sure that their customers don't have a choice and are charged exorbitant prices for it. Then they try to make it seem like a good thing. This is something I have seen at other Honda dealerships and it is very disappointing. People choose Honda for their exceptional engineering and technology. Dealerships like Sam Boswell do not represent the company well. Honda should have more centralized inventory management and make it easier for customers to get what they want and harder for dealers to scam more money out of people. read more

I purchased a used car from Sam Boswell Honda- and I thought everything was good surprise to say had not had this car a week and the air condition went out- I was told I needed to speak with Jeremy and its been two week he has not answer my phone calls nothing, when I speak with the sales persons I am being told he is in his office let me transfer you and once they speak to him they come back to the phone and transfer me to his voice mail this been going on for two weeks. My sister referred me to this dealership and she is so sorry, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. I didn't have the money to purchase a new car so I wanted a good use care get back and forth to work and help my daughter with my grandchild now were having to drive her around in the heat, bad mistake going there, and this manager Jeremy don't have enough respect for his client to give them a call back after numerous attempts. Hello! I'm not sure who these yahoo's are or what dealership they are talking about, but I for one have had nothing short of spectacular experiences here at Sam Boswell Honda. Yes, I bought a previously owned auto from them, yes it was a Honda, and unfortunately I did encounter an issue after leaving. However, when I brought the issue to their attention, they assured me it was an oversight during inspection, quickly corrected the problem, and sent me on my way. Since then, there has been zero complaints. I return weekly (biweekly when weather ensues!) for free cleanings and though it does take some time to complete, I am quite pleased with my FREE cleaning. So, again, I hope these other two folks just don't know who they are talking about, or are just disgruntled folk in general. This review is for the service department. I'm just going to tell the story of my experience which was unfortunately long, so TLDR at the bottom. I was having problems with the driver's side window on my 2000 CR-V. Although I knew that dealerships are generally overpriced for service, I went to get a quote on what it would cost them to fix it. I guess just because it's easier than finding a reliable independent mechanic. Anyway, I did my research ahead of time and found a replacement regulator/motor assembly on Amazon for $65 so I was expecting something in the $150ish ballpark from the dealer. I showed up, and told the guy up front that my driver's side window was struggling and asked if they could give me a price estimate to fix it. He said sure thing. Before he left I asked "You'll let me know before you do anything to it, right?" and he assured me that they would. I'm waiting in their little waiting room with the TV and all that, and it's been kind of a long time. I've kept myself busy on my phone for the most part so I wasn't keeping close track of time but it seemed like I had sat there a bit long for just getting a quote. There were other people in the room with me, so I figured they might just be busy. An hour after sitting down they finally call me up, and it's a different service guy. He says that the motor/regulator assembly is shot and to replace it will cost $330 in parts and about $130 in labor. I tell him that I'll probably just try to fix it myself, and thanks anyway. $500 after tax for a $65 part and MAYBE an hour of experienced labor are you kidding me? Now he starts telling me that they have to charge me a diagnostic fee for an hour of labor at $85. Probably noting my incredulous look, he quickly adds that for me (oh I'm special) they are only going to charge me for a half hour and $42.50. I'm a bit confused and I tell the guy that. All I asked them for was an estimate on the cost to fix the window (for the record, the motor/regulator assembly was the only thing that could have been wrong with it. The only other thing it could have been was the window switch, but the window worked so it obviously was not that). Well the guy keeps talking, and I'm getting a decent feeling that I'm being salesman'd because he's pretty much repeating the same stuff and not giving me any information. After a few minutes of this I just asked the guy to hold up, and said "What exactly did they do to my car?" The guy stops and says, "Why don't you just come with me and I'll show you." We go out to the shop, and the guy has my door panel off already. Apparently when they were messing with the window the motor gears had stripped the rest of the way, and the guy was telling me that the window isn't even going to stay up by itself now. Great. I'm feeling more and more like I'm getting shystered every second. They're tell me they couldn't give me an exact estimate without taking the panel off, but have no answer when I ask why they didn't tell me before they started doing chargeable work. Eventually they realize that I really don't want them to fix it. The dude in the shop jerry-rigs a couple cardboard tubes to keep the window up, and tells me there's no guarantee that they'll keep the window up. He puts the panel back together, forgetting about the plastic sound/weatherproofing until he's done and just tells me it isn't good for anything and cuts it off. The guy up front tries to convince me that he's doing me a favor by only charging me $42.50 for making my car worse than it already was. I'm not having any of it, and after about 15 minutes he excuses himself to go out back. When he comes back, he tells me he'll just talk to his boss and they'll figure it out. At this point I almost feel bad because it seemed like we had a genuine miscommunication, as much of a pain in the ass as it was for me. I take the car and go, a little bit annoyed at my now completely broken window and the fact that I wasted 2 hours of my afternoon. I'm driving a bit carefully to avoid dislodging the tubes and making the window fall, heading back to Ft Rucker. Driving up to the gate, I know that my window won't work so I try to open the door to hand them my ID. Nothing. Somehow they missed reconnecting my door handle as well. So here I am motioning at the female private to try to get her to open the door from the outside, which she finally figures out after a minute. I make a comment about how the dealership forgot to connect the interior handle, and she just gives me the most incredulous look the whole time. How embarrassing. Their negligence in reassembly and failures in communication are the reason for this poor review. TLDR: They basically broke my door, tried to overcharge me and were not upfront about the whole situation. The service department does not have good attention to detail. I would avoid going back if possible. read more

We bought a used car for just over 10k. Honda certified my ass. Nothing but problems with it and the service department. Saying them fixed things when they didn't. About ready to bring the car back and ask for our money back. Do not buy a used car from these people. They will jerk you around until your 3000 mile warranty is up. read more

Words cant describe the customer service that they offered. Me and my mother we were in the market for a 2017 Honda Accord Sport, we check in my home town they had one but the way they treated us was totally unacceptable. I got on the internet I found you guys I sent a message to your dealership, and a gentlemen by the name of Max Johnson responded. He was top notch!!! He provided me and my mom with a++ service, from the time we traveled there until the sell was complete. We love our 2017 Honda Accord Sport they provided a lot of amentias with this car, too many to describe.
