On a good day I could have given it a better rating but considering there're better coffee shops close by it seemed a little bit too much.

Le Ble is a chain bakery and cafe…read more These places are all over Buenos Aires. The food and drink are basically good. * * * We just stopped in for snacks. I had a submarino, and an orange-blackcurrant scone. A submarino is an Argentine specialty: A specially designed meltable chocolate bar That is dropped into hot milk to make hot chocolate. I have had insanely good submarinos in France. But a submarino is never bad. Le Ble's submarinos totally do the job. * The orange-blackcurrant scone rocked the house. * They have a lot more stuff on the menu at Le Ble. And in Buenos Aires, there is always some Le Ble somewhere near you. There are better places. There are worse places. But Le Ble is reliable. It is good solid stuff.

I bought a baguette yesterday. I don't know why the bakeries in Buenos Aires are incapable of producing a crusty baguette like they do in France. Instead, the baguette was soft to the touch. Fortunately, lightly toasting it adds crispness. Crispiness + butter = Good. Food - 3 stars - I base this only on the baguette i bought. I realize that this may be viewed as unfair, but really, the quality of the bread is fundamental for a bakery. Ambiance - 5 stars - Very nice design, furnishings, and atmosphere. See the photos. Service - 4 stars - This is based on my encounter with two smiling, friendly servers that I encountered before reaching the counter, as well as the fellow behind the counter.

Luckily, close to the mythical Bond Street Galeria is this lovely coffee store. Walking by the door I noticed a girl drinking a latte out of a huge bathtub like mug... Bingo, found my place. I ordered the biggest Latte they had in the menu, an semi sweet Chocolate cake and my boyfriend had some Twinnings with a parma ham and brie stuffed croissant. Heaven.
