I live near this place, in Marion. The store used to be in another location some years ago, on the same street. This location is, sadly, dirty and as well as gloomy due to the low level of lighting inside the facility. Gospel and ex-addicts conversion voiceovers play on the sound system continually at a fairly high level of volume. The prices are much higher than they used to be, way over the actual worth of the donated stock. Customers run the gamut of the poor who really can't afford the jacked up prices. Salvation Army is now filled with useless junk since anything worthwhile has been snatched up by customers who run a side hustle reselling whatever they found at their never-ending yard or garage sales. The only reason to go there is to marvel at the item displays, which are color coordinated on the shelves, red, blue, green, yellow, and clear for glass items. The clothing is done the same way. Let's put it this way, I've worked in food service, retail, and industrial and I've never seen an overseer yell and threaten everybody that much as workers. I endured over 3 years of harassment and I was fired for, what I say, two reasons. Retaliation for harassment complaint and I gave my overseer an penny donation on her birthday fueled by years of mistreatment. Day after penny donation she gives me two verbal and puts me on a 3 day suspension without pay. Within two months they made two false claims and ignored my witnesses and attempts at camera evidence. Officially, they say throughout my employment I was insubordinate. They claim on the day before I was fired, they had so many complaints rolling in about slamming carts/pallet, slamming doors, using curse words, and being insubordinate. This isn't a gripe about products, as the products are used and how well are you gonna pull GED and diploma people together for searching out every defect for products under the sun. They don't have warranty, but sometimes you can catch a decent bargain. They sell donated goods, so look at the service as a convenient one stop place for difficult curb, trash, yard, garage finds. Factoring value is ranging from just get you going to some difficult to find new items that are unused. Sometimes, it's a nice resource to pick up cheap emergency odds and ends items like if your bed frame broke, just ask somebody and they can get you a cheap one. It may not be worth your time for job. As a consumer, be savvy and discerning while understanding the items are used and getting knowledgeable employees in that atmosphere can be tough. Be aware. Happy shopping. I'll end this review noting, many of them sleeping in homes piled against me while I'm homeless. I feel much of that is due to the fear of the overseer yelling and threatening them. read more

Absolutely RUDE SERVICE- Will not ever go there again. This was my first and only time at this thrift store. I spent 2 hours in there. I found some bargains and went to pay. I put my clothes on the counter. There was one item that didn't have a price on it. I told the cashier. She g abbey the piece. Slammed it down on the counter and huffed. She proceeded to ring stuff up. I said sorry about that. Not a word. I repeated myself. Nothing. And seemed like she was getting madder. I said it's not my fault. Again, nothing. I then said. Just forget all of it. She then finally said "what's wrong?" I walked out and left everything. What a waste of time. read more

I was looking for a pet carrier for a cat we were adopting from the shelter. I have always been able to find them at thrift stores before for less than five dollars. I actually found a hard case one buried under the suitcases on the side wall. It was dirty, dusty and smelled, but I could clean it up, no problem. There was no price on it at all. I looked it over completely. After some searching, found an employee to ask about price. He took the carrier to someone in the back and came back out with a price of $12.99 on it. I asked if they meant $2.99. He said no it was what was marked. I said you know I can buy a brand new clean one for $20 from Walmart? He said " do whatever you want but the price is still $12.99". I said okay, turned around and left the store. That was 3 weeks ago, went back in with a girlfriend today. She was looking for pants. The carrier was still there and still $12.99. read more

Terrible store (in Marion, Ohio). I have had to correct them on their own prices, sale prices, a do a lot of other coaching that was met not with an apology, but hostility. They can't reason or problem solve, & they can't seem to count or work a register properly. Example: Wednesday's everything is 50 percent off--everyDAY their books are 90percent off their original cover price. But buy a book on a Wednesday & they wanna sell it for only half off. So their half off day is more expensive--in their way of thinking. And I just can't afford a discount like that. Horribly disappointed in the service at this location. I am a person who prefers shopping local and will always choose a charitable service over anything else. That is with the exception of this store. I hope I never have to go in there again. I was ready to drop $220 on some furniture, which by the way was more expensive than I could find similar new ones online that would be delivered to my home but like I said, I prefer for my money to support businesses that mean something, but was told that they would not hold the furniture until this evening when I could get the truck there to help pick it up. Now, if this was the policy anywhere else, I wouldn't be posting this review. However, the other 2 charitable thrift stores in town will hold big ticket items with payment. One holds for 3 days. And organization is won't even hold something until closing on the same day when I was ready to pay for it right then? Ridiculous. They have lost a customer. And if I have my way, they will lose a lot more. read more
