Free bread and olives - bread was chewy and fresh, paired well with the antipasto plate for sure. Didn't enjoy it very much. For dessert, got the tiramisu; it wasn't too sweet which I appreciated, but there was a bit too much cream. The cake was moist and tasty though! Service was really slow, perhaps we were a big group (probably around 40-50 people), but they knew we were coming so having more than one server for our group would've probably been a good idea.

There seem to be quite a few locals who are regular visitors -- these were greeted with hugs and kisses. All visitors received a happy "Ciao!" or "Buona sera!" upon entering. The workers mostly spoke Italian to each other but spoke fine German with me. Only negative point is re: music. They played Marvin Gaye and funky friends the whole time I was there. Nothing against German food, but I didn't want anything too heavy so I figured Italian would be great. Checking on Yelp, I found I was close to a couple of pizza places but this one looked best so I stopped in. It was 8 pm on a Friday night and there were only three tables occupied and I thought "Uh oh, this place should be packed" but since I was hungry AND too lazy to go someplace else, I sat down. The professional gentleman who was waiting on the tables was efficient and friendly (more friendly that most of the German waiters I had during my time there, which isn't meant to bash anyone, it's just that most service was more business like). I ordered a beer and a pizza and was surprised at the generous portion that came out! I think my bill was about €15 and change and it was so much food I couldn't eat it! The pizza was good (could have been baked in the oven a bit more but that's just my preference) and my beer was delicious. Definitely a great spot for a nice meal that won't break the bank.

I had been in the mood for pasta carbonara and ventured to Pizza Vira with the BF. It took a while for the cooks to start on our food but it was worth the wait (15 minutes). The pasta tasted fresh and had not been overcooked, which is a regular problem with this dish. I could see and taste the egg yolk in the cream sauce :D. The BF ordered a spinach and gorgonzola dish. I typically can't handle too much gorgonzola but I loved the sauce. It tasted more of cream than blue cheese, so if you're a blue cheese buff, try it on a pizza instead. Lastly, remember to grab your own silverware. We almost forgot to!
