Sandpiper is close to 17, so not far off the main road! The exterior of the building is crisp and modern with a super cute logo on the front entry. There are a few ways to enter the Brewing Co, as they boast a large deck that wraps from the front all the way around the side. The deck holds the most comfortable Adirondack chairs! There is room for the kids to play in the yard as well as the dogs to frolic about! Now that you're inside, you see the beautifully decorated space, with counter tops that look like the beach and ocean (see if you can find the shark tooth)! The interior space is roomy and you'll find some Sandpiper Brewing Co merchandise (if you're lucky!) It goes quick, as the owner, Ashley, tells me! Who wouldn't want to don the cutest logo for their favorite brewery, right?! The bathrooms are very well appointed with cloth, single use hand towels- what a great touch! Sandpiper Brewing Co has a great selection of hand crafted beers, along with their signature seltzer! Ashley will find something to your taste, or ask for a sample, everything is delicious! There is something for everyone, even juice boxes for the kids! You can bring our own snacks, but don't be surprised if a food truck is there, how convenient!

While I have visited on multiple occasions and always look forward to being served by Cooper, who is a fantastic, friendly, and professional worker...what happened during my last visit ensures I will never be back. While sitting at a nearly full bar, I witnessed a female staff member completely ambush and verbally attack Cooper. She was standing at the register on one end of the bar, and Cooper was clear at the other end by the coffee machine. Instead of walking over to speak to him like an adult, she literally screamed across the entire length of the room. The other patrons and I were in complete awe of the disrespect; she deliberately chose to make a massive, public scene for everyone to hear. The entire tantrum was over a parking space. She refused to clock out until Cooper moved his car out of an unofficial Buffalo Bills fans only spot, which is just the owner's preferred space, not an actual designated zone. Despite being publicly yelled at, Cooper handled it with total class. He stayed completely calm and professional, stepping away from customers to move his vehicle to a standard spot just to keep the peace. To make matters worse, she then paraded back inside and loudly demanded that he move his car again into a handicap space because he has handicap tags. Since when does a placard legally obligate someone to park in a specific spot, and since when is it an employee's job to loudly police that in front of a crowd??? Cooper is an excellent bartender who navigated a completely unhinged situation with grace. Management is clearly non-existent if they let staff create this kind of hostile environment in front of a full house. It was embarrassing, highly unprofessional, and completely ruined the atmosphere. Cooper deserves to work somewhere better, and I won't be spending my money here again.

We've lived in the area for about 6 years. Eat out fairly often. This restaurant by far has been…read morethe most consistent in the quality of the food, which is the best of all the restaurants in the topsail area. It is not fine dining and has the sports bar vibe. It is a relatively small place and I recommend going on non peak hours in season. If you are into oysters, they have a great selection of both local and regional on the half shell. If you prefer cooked, chargrilled or steamed is a good choice. While the menu has a great selection of seafood, the chalkboard specials features extremely fresh local catches which change daily. While there are several restaurants in and around the topsail area this is the only one where I have never been disappointed. If you go at peak hours during the vacation season expect to wait but it is worth it. You can't miss with any of the steamed shellfish offerings and if you prefer fried there batter is light and not overpowering. As a sports bar, they have a large selection of tap and bottled beers and a good mixology of liquor options which is only outdone in my opinion by Rick's in Sneads Ferry

I could've asked the price upfront (and usually do) but what the heck... we're on vacation. The server suggested we get a "double" and share it. OK. Sounds good. It came out quick. There was a TON of food for two of us. Shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn. It didn't have a lot of seasoning also on it, but - no problem - there was a rack with every hot sauce you'd ever need, plus salt, pepper and old bay. We both ate our fill and even left a few potatoes. The bill comes and it's less than $40. It might be the cheapest great meal I've had in a long time. Or maybe it's the "greatest cheap meal" I've had in a long time... I don't know. Bar ambiance, but pleasant enough for families. Mostly high tables. It all seemed very nice.
