Date of visit: 05/03/25 First of all, I have been driving by this place on Saturday mornings on my way to my car therapy group on 4th Street, Cars of Course...it was during one of these sessions I over heard someone talking about this place, doing happy hour and had a good burger. I took note of it and that same day I would visit. The wife was having dinner that evening in Dunedin with her girls so it was a good time to visit. Like to pre-visit places before taking her if I can. It was around six when I arrived, not too busy for derby day either, found a parking spot in front. Located a seat at the bar and was quickly waited on. I asked if they had Miller High Life and the answer was yes...one more place that carry them. After hearing about the burgers earlier I had to try one. I wasn't too hungry so I opted for the (2) slider offering with cheese. And it was laid out in such a way inside that you could chill. That's important. I could how this place is the locale hang out. Good food, people and clean. The burgers came out I no time and I must say, I am a smashburger guy but these slides were awesome. And two were just enough, almost had the fries too but glad I didn't. For being sliders they were still juicy and plenty of cheese. Overall, I will be back for the sliders for sure if not just for the MHL. Peace. read more

I ordered for pick up and received great customer service over the phone. They told me it would be about 30 min for my food to be ready. My boyfriend and I arrived at 30 min on the dot and our food was ready to go! It's a typical looking Florida bar. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Kind of a dive bar feel and I think they have touch tunes which is a plus. When we got home ( about a 10 min drive) our food was still pipping hot. The wings we ordered were a good size for the price, very juicy and flavorful. I would definitely order from them again just for the wings. read more

Really fun local dive bar. Food was pretty good, they've got a decent menu and drink options. Service has been a bit hit or miss since we aren't regulars. I wouldn't recommend the nachos. My last little issue is it gets HOT in the building. I don't like to sweat when eating. read more

Great service, cool atmosphere. Pretty hot inside the restaurant; thermostat on wall behind our table said 85. Didn't feel like air was on or working. Portions are large and well priced. This is a place where locals go so it was nice to be here when we were visiting the area. I ordered two appetizers - mini cheeseburgers and southwest egg rolls. Both awesome. We also ordered the Big Tex burger and another burger. They were all good, including the french fries. My Coke was a little syrupy but I can't complain because everything else, including the service, was so good. Glad I found this pub on Yelp. read more

How come you don't have a GD working phone number for your customers to call and notify you that the food order I just placed is ucked up, and wrong. And apparently If you order food from the ordering option online under their Google site, you won't in fact be ordering any food. They use a company called Chow now that will take your personal information and credit card information and charge you, but won't send the order to the restaurant. Apparently the owner is a loser and won't take time out of his busy day to fix this problem even though it's happened to numerous customers. Imagine ordering food and then getting there just to have them tell you that the order didn't go through, having to wait for them to make another order, bring it all the way home just to find out that they fucked up the order anyways. What the fuck. I swear these bar owners are dumb fn drunks that should never own businesses. Money really can buy you anything... All it was was nachos with chicken and they didn't even put the chicken on it. In the nachos were cold and basic AF. How do you f that up. The douchebag that overlooked the main ingredient in the kitchen. That's how. Here's your review. I'll post it on the rest of the review sites as well until you get this shit fixed. I apologize for the horrible pictures. Not sure what happened with that on this night, but I do know what happened IRL (In Real Life). I bagged a tourney at Derby Lane and needed some food. I don't eat much on poker trips. I searched for a burger place and found Salty J's. It's in the middle of a small strip mall and I wasn't expecting much, but it was the joint. The Joint = a place with good food that you find cool and where you also feel relaxed. I took a seat at the bar to order some food and a Red Bull, ended up in a poker conversation, and then ate a kick-ass burger and fries. Well ... I ate the burger during the poker conversation, but I chewed with my mouth closed (99% sure). Either way, I don't refer to many burgers as kick-ass. Same goes for the fries. Excellent food. In addition to the food, it's a spotless open-air bar with great music, friendly service, and regulars that will make you feel at home. And it's not all regulars. Put simply, everyone here seems happy. That alone makes it a quality destination. Highly recommended in all aspects. read more

Salty J's is my favorite local spot to head after work! The atmosphere is always so much fun and the food is amazing! Hands down my favorite thing to get here is the nachos. They are HUGE and delicious and I get at least 2 meals out of it. Another favorite is their wings. The bartenders are always amazing and we love sitting at the outside bar. Parking is very spare and this place gets packed on weekends so keep that in mind. We love coming to this little "hole in the wall neighborhood bar"! Stopped by for dinner and to catch a playoff game. Interesting to see this type of bar located in a strip plaza on 4th street. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. We sat at the bar and each ordered a blood orange margarita. The drink was way too sour for us so we hoped that the food would be better but we're kind of disappointed. I got the mango habanero wings and my fiancé got the buffalo shrimp. We shared a large fries. We also got the fried pickles as well. It was very underwhelming. We would probably not go back for the food or drinks, but would maybe come back to catch a game with a beer. read more

Awesome dive on 4th Street. Such a kind waitstaff who pour fantastic drinks, good food and amazing prices. Plenty of TVs if you want to watch sports and their WiFi works great. I stopped by on trivia night recently which was a ton of fun. I can't wait to go back here soon and meet some fantastic new friends! Weezy was so friendly and amazing the whole time! Food was delicious! We got cheeseburger sliders and Bavarian pretzels! So much yum! My Long Island was a little strong, which isn't a bad thing! I will not give anyone less than 5 stars during this pandemic because I commend all those trying to stay open and offer carry out. I was bummed to find out that the whole menu is available because online it was a very abbreviated carry out menu. But that's ok, can always order from here again. I split the Mac n cheese melt with a friend and had the buffalo wings. The Mac n cheese melt comes with pulled pork but I got it without. It was sooo good and creamy. My fav out of everything ordered. My friend had it as it came with the pulled pork. The wings were cooked well and juicy. Another friend had the pulled pork sandwich which comes with onion rings on it and another friend had the burger. The sweet potato fries are better than the regular fries. But our fries were undercooked. Prices are good. I would eat here again and try other things now that I know the full menu is available. read more

I had the BBBLT and it said plenty of bacon, well it wasn't more like four to five strip and it wasn't freshly cooked but what can you for under $8 sandwich? It was still good enough. The 1/2 lbs peel shrimp appetizer was excellent, the cocktail tasted fresh made and well mixed, hooray here! The blue cheese salad was huge bowl! Fit for a King or a queen! Went back to Salty J's on Sunday (after church). Had the Buffalo Shrimp. They were delicious, with a just right amount of that just-right hot-but-not-too-hot buffalo sauce. Service was a little slow, but friendly. Only complaint is that I wish there had been some kind of small side dish. I will be back to try more menu items. read more

She barely let me get a word in. The food was trash anyway. Very attentive service despite the place being filled up, the two bartenders, i didn't get their names, girl with short blond hair with a smile and fun mustache man, killed it. We went for dinner, but this is really more of a bar atmosphere. That said, the food was really good. The only problem is the cigarette smoke coming into the enclosed bar from the open bar window. We had an okay meal but don't plan on returning. The Thai Chili Wings had great flavor, but seems undercooked and fatty. We tried the corndog nuggets. The hotdog inside was gross. Sauces were pretty good though. The salad we had was large and pretty good. I did like the buttermilk chicken tenders on top.
