REVIEW BASED ON DEC 27 & 28 STAY
A small no-nonsense resort with a private (rocky) beach in the popular city of Anilao, Batangas. Tours are available to the neighboring islands for snorkeling and scuba diving: equipment and wetsuits are available for rent. Each scuba instructor is assigned to oversee a group of four divers. I would definitely recommend going to Sombrero Island, please refer to my separate review.
Their reception desk is located in their restaurant. You'll need to scan the QR code to register online; but then there's still paperwork to fill out onsite. Grab some delicious complimentary coffee while waiting for your room.
I think the best views are from the rooms on the second floor on the building to the right of the restaurant (if you're facing the beach), please see video. Be careful going up the steep staircases, especially at night when lighting is poor. Our room had a full size bed, firm mattress, soft pillows, a fuzzy warm blanket, and a strong aircon. The shower's water temperature fluctuates from warm to hot. There are Watsons brand body and hair care products available. No TV, no micro or ref, no closet, and no landline phone; but they do have free WiFi. The walls are thin so you can hear people talking outside your door. There was a plastic table and chairs right outside our room: a great place to enjoy the view from the balcony.
If you need toiletries, snacks and drinks, don't buy them at the resort; instead, walk out the front gate and turn left, there is a small sari-sari store on the left with a sweet owner.
As far as the food, I liked the mango shake, pork bbq, pork liempo and chop suey.
We enjoyed our little vacay at this simple, laid back resort. If you're not looking for a lot of bells and whistles, this might be the resort for you. read more
