Planet Dive was recommended by one of her friends and since it wasn't too far from Manila (about a 3 hour drive) we thought this would be perfect . . . and perfect it was. The resort was beautiful, the staff very friendly and helpful and there's almost a family feel. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it reminded me more of family gatherings rather than a restaurant feel. In the short time we were there, we enjoyed snorkeling and seeing all kinds of aquatic life from colorful fish, slugs and eels; followed by basking in the sun. The sunset was beautiful, the whole experience was tranquil . . . if your looking for a calm weekend get-a-way, consider Planet Dive. Note: If you're one who NEEDS to be connected electronically, this probably wouldn't be the ideal spot. They do provide wifi, but the signal is weak and limited to the lobby area; also I was unable to do any kind of video streaming whether it was posting video clips from snorkeling or trying to view videos. Also, there are no tv's. If you're bringing kids be prepared for this. Also, when snorkeling, ask for a wet suit. There are jellyfish and I was stung a few times before asking for a wetsuit myself. However, all things considered, given the minor short comings, the weekend was perfect and I look forward to being able to visit again sometime in the future, and next time, perhaps I'll do the dive in addition to the snorkeling.

It's all about the diving. The resort lives up to its name. The dive masters were fantastic! They…read moregave very good dive briefings, made us feel safe, pointed out the interesting marine life and to top it all they were very well knowledgeable about other topics other than diving. Educated and articulate, they were able to regale us with stories of the Philippines. I suspect that the dive masters had professional lives outside diving and were doing the work because they simply are passionate about diving. There is a marine sanctuary right in front of the resort called Twin Rocks. You walk off the beach and it is right there. The sanctuary is teeming with marine life. I saw turtles, surgeon fishes, nudi branch, mantis shrimps, day octopus, frog fish, rare blue ringed octopus. Food was tasty and delicious. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Bathrooms had male urinals which was a treat. What made the resort different was the friendly atmosphere it fostered. The Divemasters made it a point to introduce guests to each other.

Our dive vacation to **Atlantis Puerto Galera**, located in the heart of the **Coral Triangle**, was unforgettable from start to finish. Our trip was delayed due to **Typhoon Fung Wong (Uwan)**, but the moment we arrived, the warmth of the staff and the beauty of the resort washed away every ounce of stress. The level of care, attention to detail, and aloha spirit extended to us was something rare and special. **The Staff & Hospitality** The team at Atlantis deserves its own award -- something like **"The Island Heart Hospitality Award"** or **"The Aloha of the Philippines Excellence Award."** They were that extraordinary. Every interaction felt genuine. They learned our names, checked in on us constantly, and made us feel like part of their ohana. **The Diving** Puerto Galera is part of UNESCO's **"Most Beautiful Bays in the World"**, and diving here proved exactly why. The reefs were vibrant, healthy, and full of marine life. Our dive guides were incredibly knowledgeable, safety-focused, and passionate about the ocean. **The Resort** Immaculately clean rooms, great food, hot showers, peaceful grounds, and a dive operation that runs like absolute clockwork. After long days underwater, every detail was taken care of -- from help with gear to warm drinks and smiling faces. **Bottom Line** If you're looking for world-class diving paired with genuine Filipino hospitality, Atlantis Puerto Galera is the place. We arrived as guests... and absolutely left as friends.

There are not many rooms in the whole resort so you can expect to be helped fast. They accept cash and major credit cards. A HUGE plus is that I checked in at 9am - waaay earlier than regular check in hours obviously and later than the regular checkout time by half an hour or so but since the resort was relatively empty when I stayed, they had no problem with it and did not charge me anything extra. I had also booked it for a day earlier than I meant to, and it was difficult trying to get in contact with them, but I emailed them and they changed it with no hassle as well! There is a decently large staff working the resort and many of them speak conversational english. The dining building has filtered water, tea, and coffee available at all times. They will also serve buffet style lunch or dinner (500-600 pesos) and a la carte smoothies and food as well, and the buffets were hit or miss for me but the a la cartes were great! There are a lot of flies out there so the flies sort of eat the food with you.. you are free to take the food inside to your room though! The staff is also constantly asking to make sure you are enjoying your stay and sort of hovers to check that you dont need anything else. By the water they have a dive shop where they rent out gear and provide boat service. (also great photo op location for the sunset). A downside was that when we I was getting tanks from them, they used tanks labeled NITROX but had regular air. Some of the tanks were not super recently inspected either. No bueno. But we tested it before using it to confirm that it was okay,, but I guess things are pretty lax in the philippines. Overall a great stay!
