One of the worst hotels iv ever stayed in !! your better off sleeping in your car…read more bed is the worst bed .. no food in restaurant after 8:30, hotel gives the shinning vibes .. truly crap

First, a point about the location. It is at the end of a long peninsula and not close to anything…read morebut beach. That in itself is not bad except when the weather is bad and you are hotel bound, with out a car. This limited our sight seeing in Poole. So caution when selecting this as a Poole destination. We did have some service issues that detracted from our stay especially with front desk staff. Checking in (5pm), we were told the dining room needed reservations - first available 9pm. The toilet in our room did not work (5pm). So we went to the bar and had pretty good meals while the loo was being fixed. The aforementioned dining room was partially full when I looked at 7 and 8 pm. A bell boy (not maintenance) was summoned to fix the toilet. He said he did. He did not. They said the hotel was full up and offered to move us to the one "comparable" room left. They did. It was not. The room was about 25% the size of where we started, peeling wood fur nature, dirty carpet and over looking the kitchen alley and garbage bins . After a bit of a hissy fit, we went back to our first room and only then did a proper maintenance guy came to fix the toilet. He did. 10PM. Never a sorry for your inconvenience or to comp us for a meal etc. WiFi was super slow here. I got the feeling had they seen my balance sheet, they would have treated us better. A bit full of themselves. Small time service from the admin.staff in what is supposed to be a "posh" hotel. As a former 2 million mile business traveler, I've stayed in global posh hotels. This was not. Perhaps 3 stars on a 5 star scale. The food service people were much, much better. Loved the morning crew! All in all, disappointing.

Afternoon tea at Sandbanks? Hmmm I think, 'no thanks.' Probably not again, anyway…read more I visited the hotel for Afternoon Tea with my sisters to celebrate a birthday. We'd planned on sitting on the terrace overlooking the beautiful coastline, but the rainy weather got the better of us, so we opted for the interior lounge. It was clean and pleasant and cosy, but really no more exciting than your standard hotel communal space. Afternoon Tea is served between 3-6pm. I went up to the bar at 2:45pm to get the attention of the 5 members of staff milling about each other until one came over. I asked it I could place the order now and have it served at 3pm, but I was told I had to wait. Fair enough. I returned again at 3pm where the waitress checked her watch to see I wasn't cheating. In a country where the quintessential tea and cake experience is widely popular - especially in tourist traps - this was an average offering. The metal pots and canteen crockery were average. The scones, cake and sandwich slices were average. There wasn't enough cream and jam to go round. It was all quite heavy with no light accents in the offering of little fruits or macaroons to break up the stodginess that you see in other establishments (apart from a cute little meringue). And it's just shy of £15 for the privilege. The real selling point is the location and this place might have punched a little higher had the weather been better and the service a little less dismissive. We went for a taste of the high life and just got caught somewhere in the middle.

It's located in one of the best spot of the area but the premises and the facilities are outdated…read more(let's you travel back to the 80s) Unless you can get a promo fare daily rates are pricey... but breakfast (&wifi) is included! At least that!!! ;)
