We really enjoy the pool and the park. NOTES from our July 4th trip: Great place to go swimming... On Friday Fourth of July..Tony, Noel and I packed a picnic lunch in the cooler and headed out for some fun..We went to Cedar of Lebanon State Park (free to enjoy) and entered to the swimming pool area. A great price of only $4 per person. $2 if you are a camper. The pool area is nice and large with plenty of room to move around and layout. There is NO concession area here but you can bring in your own cooler. Food has to be eaten in a certain area where there is picnic tables available. But you can bring in drinks (plastic bottle only) and drink by your area, some people were snacking on chips and fruit..so I guess that is okay..no one stopped them.. You can smoke but outside of the gated pool area only. You get a hand stamp to get in and out. Also you can leave and come back the same day with the hand stamp which is good..so if you want to go eat and come back to swim some more. The hours are Wednesday thru Sunday 10:30 to 7pm..Closed on Monday and Tuesday.. What I really liked about the pool area is that it is NOT that crowded. The swimming pool itself is really large and there is a diving board..I really liked this pool area. You can bring floats and water toys and bring your own lounge chairs which is really nice. Every hour they have a pool check with a 15 minute break which is good too...keeps every safe and kids under control. The staff was nice and lifeguards young but doing their jobs also a plus..I will definitely go here again.. After we left the pool area we went to the picnic area down the park road a bit and had a cook out. Where we enjoyed a nice semi shaded area and we grilled out hotdogs and hamburgers enjoying some homemade potato salad and baked beans..A great day.. A great holiday and if you are on a BUDGET like I am ALWAYS...only $12 for the fun for a family of 3...Awesome day!!!

I went ice skating for Friday night public skate at the sportsplex and the vibes were amazing!…read moreThere were so many people and the line for rental skates can get crowded so be sure to get there early. They had really cool holiday lights up and music playing in the rink which made it super fun. This is a great event to go to with friends and family!

You can sometimes walk in and grab a court ... but we've found it's much smoother to call ahead and make a reservation in advance. If you're not a member, you can reserve courts three days in advance for around $8 an hour. You pay per court, not per person, which is a great deal if you're playing 2 on 2. Everyone we've spoken to at the front desk has been friendly and helpful! The Sportsplex also offers pickleball clinics and open play opportunities. We haven't tried either of these - but they seem to be well-organized! Like some other reviewers mention, the parking can be a bit tricky if there's some sort of tournament going on. If you're worried about the facilities being busy, I recommend calling ahead to see what they have planned for the day. you'd like to play.

Went to visit this pool on a hot day with family. 2023 The pool had been closed for 2 years with…read morecovid and all. We get there and enjoying the day swimming with our kids, my husband goes to diving board and jumps off, and goes again and does a flip, and again and does a flip, and then again another flip, then a life guard tells him he can't do that. No flips aloud, he then asked the life guard if it was on the pool rule board that was posted, he said he thinks so. Weird you would think a life guard would know this. My husband walks up and looks at it and see's that it wasn't posted on there and asked about it, and the life guards (2 of them say it is a new rule) and he asked for a manager, she came out and said that she was new and that it could be a rule, weird again, my husband said that he would mention it to the city to have the rules updated. After a little more swimming we stop to eat lunch and notice that life guards and people there are looking over at us talking. My husband then starts paying attention to all the rules he had just read are being broken and life guards are doing nothing about it, and they are being distracted by people there, particularly 3 of the people. My husband then decides to call the city of Goodlettsville to find out about rules of the pool, since he didn't feel like he had violated any but there were plenty that were and getting away with them since they were all hazarded to people getting hurt. While he is waiting for someone to call him back from the city we go swimming and just brings the phone with him. While standing to side while watching our kids swim, he takes a couple pix of all the people that are violating rules and getting away with them and distracting the life guards. A life guard next to us out of the blue says are you taking pictures of them? He asked her why is it against the law and she just said maybe just let them know. So he took her picture. By now the life guards are all passing this info around and looking and telling the 3 people things as well, by this point in the day there is so much bs made up about my husband with a handful of swimmers as well as most if not all the "young" lifeguards. And I mean young, as under the age of 18, so I was told. Apparently the city was desperate to fill these lifeguard positions. While he is waiting for a phone call 2 of the 3 makes it down on the shallow end where we were splashing water in his direction and calling him a Karen. (this people were not at this end of the pool the whole time we have been here until now) He finally gets the phone call and is talking to a woman named Jennifer that is from Goodlettsville city and is over the pool, she tells my husband she is on her way and he tells her may want to get the police as well , bc they are starting trouble. ( I end up having to say to one of them, that is in front of me and pointing and saying there's the Karen that if You have something to say Say it, and he just replied I was talking to her and disappears back to the other end of the pool and doesn't come back) So Jennifer shows up along with about 6-7 of Goodlettsville's finest police officers, and my husband is talking to them, Someone else called the police so now they are there for something criminal now, and saying stuff about photo's. PLEASE IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO TAKE PHOTO's. So needless they didn't have much of a use there.. My thing is that this woman Jennifer from the city of Goodlettsville made you believe she was trust worthy. Saying she would talk to the employees that they shouldn't have attend in this manner and that if we leave they can get the other trouble makers to leave as well. She said she would text us passes to come back since we had to leave, it has been a week and we have not heard from her. My husband told her that it was best not to talk with me bc I might hurt her feelings for asking us to leave, well dam straight I would have more than that, Say you would do something and here it is a week later and no response from you. you made my little boy leave the pool, just so the police would leave is all that it went down to. I feel like these trouble makers are probably regulars there, as they continue constantly talk to the life guards and distract them. So there is definitely some seniority there. There is a little more to this story, but I have waisted enough time writing this review since they will not do anything.
