It was cool to discover a live theater experience near my house. I, for the most part, enjoyed the…read moreshow. I went to see Flanagan's Wake with a friend. We did GA, and I got the senior discount, so that was cool. There's a bar that you can order beverages. I saw some people with charcuterie boards. I ended up with a rosé. I won't do that next time. There was a 15 minute intermission, but the line for the bathroom was so long. I ended up going back to my seat. So I ended up getting a little uncomfortable the last half of the show. I did like the interaction with the audience.. though I'm glad they never picked on me!

They now have a permanent spot behind Aloha Feed. Parking can be slightly awkward but there is a…read morelot of it. The recent show I attended had great snacks and drinks - one couple even seemed to have a charcutier and bottle of wine though most of the seating does not have a lot of options to set things down. The crowds are always diverse. I was a bit shocked when an actor tapped someone sitting to move for them and the guy blatantly just ignored her.... just wow. This location just has one bathroom which is on a timer. I had an awkward lights out situation while in there. I seriously just sat and lights out... I use a cane and am already awkward enough without being in a strange space needing to find the roll of tp in pitch black and also get up and find the light switch. Someone was behind me so I warned them just in case...a person who worked there barked loudly at me that 'IT'S ON A FIFTEEN MINUTE TIMER' and I am uncertain if that was chastising me saying I was in there longer than the maybe five minutes I was - even with me stumbling around in the dark. It was just rather odd. Also, it seems a staple for places to have ushers who are generally clueless that they work there and there is a whole audience there to see a show. I was right by the door and a romantically involved couple who were both ushers sat also right by the door the whole show. I am not sure which was more annoying - him texting through the whole show {while rustling a program to try to hide his phone which was actually more distracting} or her constantly petting him and whispering back and forth with him through the entire show. I get that they have probably seen the play fifty times now and are bored but there was a teen who, legit was wearing flannel PJ bottoms and was pretty young who stayed engaged, not even fidgeting the whole time. So, maybe have the ushers by the exit who can pretend we the audience are new here and want to watch the play. There were a few audience members who would stand up to see things or had crazy weird laughs and that actually makes it more amusing. I was seated between two entrance and exits but honestly the actors move throughout and I feel like there really are not bad seats so pick out the type of chair you feel good sitting in since it is all unique pieces of furniture.

Gratefully that is not the case here and I was able to get in and out with no issues. I will say that they're ADA seating is a bit of a distance because the seating is sloped and ADA it's down front so you do need to go a bit steeply to downhill. The person I was supposed to go with was unable to attend so the lack of a seat was not an issue. But I was seats A5 and A6 and seat A5 was an open space so I'm assuming they have chairs they can bring out. I did not grab concessions but they actually looked to have a pretty ample selection. It's really good to know though for the future. The stage is quite large and I was delighted to see a really wonderfully done production of Arsenic and Old Lace. They seem to have a parking lot in the rear. Luckily I was able to grab something among the street quickly with only a small walk.

The stained glass windows and gothic style wood ceiling added beautiful decor for the wedding photos. Located in downtown Hillsboro. They have a private parking lot and street parking available. Kitchen was on the main level, which made the food and beverage setup and service convenient. The wedding was catered and everything was wonderful. They also usually offer a treat like cookies during the concert too. The kids get to dance in the front and interact with the singers - we saw Ants Ants Ants and Red Yarn. There is no pressure to stay in your seat for those who are wiggly or for baby wearing parents to walk around. Other concerts and events here are super affordable and amazing for the community. We have also taken music classes here in the upstairs art gallery space and I know they have a cool pottery studio in the basement as well. Support the arts!

The auditorium had nice acoustics and sight lines, and I don't think there was a bad seat in the house. We actually sat next to Patricia and her husband, who happened to be one of David's old High School Teachers. Outside the Auditorium is a pretty multi-level lobby space, teaching rooms, an interesting art gallery, and great light. There's also a spacious outside plaza and an inviting entrance. Reser staff were all very professional hand helpful. The Reser was also an easy walk from my Hotel and the Max Light Rail, for those not driving. As a woman of Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) and Greek parents, I was truly excited to see this production. It was well publicized on social media, so I shared out and encouraged friends to join me. It's opening weekend, and I attended the Sunday matinee to attend the opening speech given by Nimiipuu artist, Kellen Trenel, responsible for costumes and set design. His talents stem from generations of traditional beadwork, weaving, and design. The collage of personal, familial, and upcycled modern pieces were evident and truly added a special touch. The setting is small and intimate, but if I'd offer any suggestions, it would be to provide a mic for any Q&A. The story was comedic at times, and made you pause to really absorb the message. The ending packed a punch and brought tears to my eyes! Hats off to all who were involved in bringing this moving play to the area. My office is in Hillsboro and I live in Beaverton so this is truly a perfect location for me to see a show. The location is also grand when you consider how many great spots are available for getting food before the show or late night places for after the show. The parking is not ideal, especially if you have mobility issues. The parking is also not horrible - you will likely be a few blocks away so you are going to want to plan accordingly. Downtown Hillsboro does become a ghost town after 7pm so you can leisurely walk back to your car after the show. When you walk into the space it seems fairly small based on the lobby. This is just where you check in and grab some wine. The theater itself is a nice layout although you will want to be mindful to go to your right and sit far right if you are in need of a restroom a lot or else you may get stuck. There is not a bad seat in the house from what I could see. The stage and audience seating proximity is pretty perfect and the theater has a very open feel to it so I never felt cramped or like the air was stagnant etc. This is just a great place to see something unique. If A Clockwork Orange is any indication of the quality of shows put on at the Vault - I can't wait to see another show here.
