My husband and I have been taking private dance lessons with Ricky for over a year and the lessons are the highlight of our week! Salsa Central feels like family! Neither of us had previous dance experience and we were looking for a new hobby we could do together. It's been fantastic! We have a lesson with Ricky once a week and it's one of the things we look most forward to. Ricky is incredibly patient and encouraging. He understands that dancing salsa is a skill that we're looking to seriously build, but that we also have day jobs and are not trying to become professionals either. Ricky is an extremely motivational and patient teacher. He really excels at tailoring a program to his students' needs. It's been a great combination of doing something that is technically difficult while remaining fun. Two years ago I visited this place thanks to groupon, and I then paid for the 10 classes membership back then. Today I went back. Ricky knows exactly what he is doing. He pays attention to everyone and their moves and gives you advise based on what needs to improve, whether it is positioning or style. I love the convenience of doing Bachata and then Salsa, two classes on the same trip. Be aware that you need to make sure you plan to arrive at least 15 mins prior the class to look for parking and also to have time to get to the second floor of the building. I loved that he strategically split the class by beginners and intermediate, which made me feel extremely comfortable considering it was my first Salsa class. My fiancé has been wanting to do salsa lessons ever since he moved to Miami 2 years ago. After reading around and doing some online searching, we found Ricky at Salsa Central. The reviews were 100% correct. He is an amazing instructor and really tailors the sessions to our comfort level. I took private salsa and bachata lessons (4 hours each) from Ricky while I was on vacation in Miami. I was an intermediate dancer but wanted to progress beyond where I had been stuck for a while. I had SUCH a blast and certainly feel confident to get groovy with other Salsa souls. Ricky is very intuitive. He connected with me, providing a lot of patience and making my mistakes fun and quick to progress - we covered A LOT. I would highly recommend taking advantage of his 5 lesson plan package (I acquired private lessons - soooo worth it!). He was super thorough each day. I never danced in my life so I was very stressed but he makes everything easy and confortable. I recently moved to South Beach, and I decided that it was finally time to check off an item that had been languishing on my bucket list for way too long: learning salsa /bachata. I figured, when in Rome..... I found Ricky's studio online and really enjoyed it : he is always professional and you can see that he puts his heart and soul into it. I happen to like his style: personable, very respectful, but beware, his enthusiasm is guaranteed to rub off on you!! .The classes are fun, and you can definitely cover a lot of ground within a short amount of time, if you so choose. Within a few weeks I was already feeling confident enough to go to evening dancing events and have lots of fun with it.
