I went there 5/30 7pm. asked to fill the tank, had cash. Total $65, gave him $80 and he walked away. Had to call him back to the car. He tried to say I gave him $65. I had just left the bank and called him out on trying to rip me off $15. He gave me the money. I don't understand why this place is so great for a penny saved when they try to steal from their customers. As a new Holbrook resident I am disappointed. read more

Great quality piece of wood he has had it in the 2000's numerous times I guzzled it down

I needed some air in one of my tire. I knew I had a slow leak because of a nail that was embedded in it. The tire was in Pretty good shape. I literally drove on the tire for about 10 months, every 2 to 3 months I would need to put some air in it. I went to Sal's to put some air in the tire. he said he could just plug the tire. I paid him $20. I drove about a mile and the tire air had dropped to 25psi and kept dropping until it was totally flat. I had to call AAA to help me put on my spear. I went back to Sal's to get my money back, he kept lying saying I would have to speak to the owner and told me to come back the next. That went on for a week and he never gave me my $20 back. He makes his gas price 1 cent cheaper than the gas station across from his. don't fall for the trick. His gas is low quality because he's probably putting additives in it. He gets under a 4 star for good reason. read more

Just got there to get gas Sat there for 5 minutes. No one came out to say anything. I honked the horn as now 3-4 cars are waiting for service. A guy comes out and asked if I beeped and I said yes. He goes ahead and tells me do not ever beep at him. Then he is aggravated with trying to open my gas tank. So I left the gas station and he saId good. I said f you n kept it moving. It's snowing, it's dark and I saw only only one person come out no acknowledgement then go back inside. How the f&@$ ami I suppose to know who is pumping gas. Pay attention or if your busy send someone one out or come out and say something. Some folks are just not too smart unfortunately. read more

For the gas part of Sal's, they are great, cheapest gas in the area always. Really I rarely get gas elsewhere. I did have problems with the repair part of the biz though. I talked to Sal and he did make it right. The repair costs are reasonable, the problem I had was that I was looking more for high quality work, but they do low cost work. I explained and he got it. If you like getting ripped off then you will absolutely love Sal's . They install used parts and charge for new ones. If you get an oil change they do not change the filter. If you get gas here they always charge the credit price even when you are paying cash. When I want to throw my money away I always come to Sal's. read more

I have been going to Sal's for at least 10 years. I read some of the negative reviews, and I know at one point he had someone working for him who is no longer there and I think this guy was a problem. This guy told my husband he needed something too, and we questioned it and ended up not getting it done and it was never an issue. This guy also put a rear view mirror in my car, and it was given back to me with a large drip of glue on my windshield. The mirror ended up coming off, which I is probably my cars fault as my car has spit off four rear view mirrors prior to this attempt, and I just gave up having one. However, the glue drip on my windshield was unnecessary and I didnt like that. Its hard when your help is not on the same page as you. Other than the mirror and this one mechanic, I have honestly not had one bad experience with going there. Sal has always treated me and cars great and I hate to trust anyone anymore, but I have to say I will put my trust in Sal. read more

My son bought a car down the road from Sals. We had the initial once over done there (we live in Stoughton so it was too far to bring the car to our own mechanic). There was a transmission hose leak.We bought the car and Sal fixed the problem and gave the car a sticker. The next day the transmission fluid was all over the driveway. The car was towed back. I started to panic and read Sal's reviews..then I was really panicked! However, the car was fixed the next morning..something had broken during the initial repair(the cars 13yrs old..worn parts). Sal stood behind the earlier repair and there was no charge for the worn piece that broke. If we closer..he'd have our business always. There are poor reviews on this site but our experience was great! Good mechanics and good and honest service. What more can you ask for ? read more

This places is good for gas. One of the cheapest places in the area.One time I did bring my car to Sal's for inspection. They tried to rip me off. They told me 3 things in my car had to be repaired. I brought to another place for a second opinion. That place told me only one of those things needed to be repaired and it was relatively minor. I no longer bring my car to Sal's for an inspection or any repair work. read more

Cheap gas , cheaper if it's cash! They do repairs and inspections too all for a reasonable price
