So I absolutely love Salon Dacota. I have been going there for quite a long time. Love the people…read morethat work there. Great atmosphere. Great products for hair. If you are just going to get your hair cut, they will do an excellent job. My sister also gets her hair dyed here all the time and leaves perfectly satisfied. Unfortunately, what I would NOT recommend is coming to get a balayage treatment done. I have never dyed my hair in the past and decided to do something different for a change. Having coming from Manhattan, I was intent on trying something different for $200 as opposed to $500. I figured with balayag being a very trendy style right now, the stylist had to have a ton of practice. After all, It is pretty hard to mess up -- especially when I show you a picture before hand. When I came in, I was completely brunette. And when I left I did not have a balayage (where my brown hair would gradually turn into blonde) but on the contrary, I was completely blonde with dark roots. Really not at all like a balayage. In fairness, my hair is extremely long. And thick. The appointment itself took 3 hours. I feel that the error came from both lack of experience and also management of time. We ran 30 minutes over into the next client's appointment (poor thing) and I felt like it was a rushed job. She didn't end up actually styling my hair because she ran out of time. I suppose a little of this is on me because I should have ensured she REALLY LOOKED at the picture. I was like here's the picture. She very quickly relied "oh I totally got it! I can do that" This was several months back and the reason I write about it now is because I now am having to pay almost $500 for a color correcting and CORRECT balayage. Moral of the Story: salon dacota is great. Just not for balayage. If you are wanting to do that, splurge and go somewhere that specializes otherwise you may end up paying more. Hope this is helpful!

I forgot to check in to this establishment but that is ok…read more This Salon is in a quiet little business park and very cute. The place is clean and we were greeted right away. I scheduled myself, daughter and daughter in law for a Head Spa Treatment for their birthdays (I had a gift card). The girls went into the Spa area and I received a private room!!! And we were all able to get them at the same time. If you have never received a Head Spa Treatment.... Please go. It is amazing how much tension we hold in our scalp and neck!!!! The massage was wonderful. The products that they use smell so good and make your hair feel so soft and the facial mask had my skin feeling so smooth!!!! The staff did an amazing job!!! I had to grab some wonderful products to take home!!! No pics as I was trying to be in the moment.

I came in because I had a gift card for the headspa and needed a haircut. I booked two weeks in…read moreadvance and was super excited about stl having a headspa as I have been to several and it's been my favorite experience ever. This is not at all like a traditional Asian Headspa. It's what should be a $25 add on for a service. It's not private or quiet/dark enough and you go in fully clothed so you will likely get your top wet. You lay in these massage chairs that are flat with giant legs bend when you get in and arms inside like you're in a massage chair. I'm 5'6" and these were made for 7' people. It was awkward and not comfortable. I'm used to a facial, not a cheapo sheet mask and not very good scrub, and my hair was washed and conditioned. My stylist did use the crown rinse for the final, but all other water was the loud/harsh/abrasive normal head sprayer from the sink. My Stylist Kayla was really nice, she seemed straight out of school and was telling me about her travel plans so it was nice to hear about her life and learn about her. My haircut was decent and I liked the product she used to blow dry my hair. No styling was done (like curling or straightening). I also had my eyebrows waxed (they took me back.into the Headspa room to do it, which was weird). I had to wait several minutes to check out as the owner was on the phone and using the pos terminal. That was honestly the most awkward time for both me and Kayla. The owner wasn't kind, and seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but in her salon. I bought one of the two products used on my hair post haircut and left. Read the yelp and Google reviews before you go, I wish my mom had before she got me the gift card. I will not return, and hope Kayla finds a salon that will treat her well, she was genuinely a sweet soul.
