I am 17 years old and Jenny gave me a microneedling session when I was supposed to have a teen facial. How was I supposed to know at my age I am not supposed to get a microneedling?! During the session it felt like I was getting a tattoo on my face it hurt so bad. My face felt like I had a major sunburn for 2 days after and the redness did not go down for 3 days. My mom and I called and asked for another facial that I was supposed to get, a refund or a free facial was not given after this mistake. I went here the other day because there was a Groupon for a $49 cut and color. Score! My husband also had his hair cut while we were there. I really loved the ladies there. They were very sweet and real, not uppity or snooty. I hate snooty hair places. I usually hate hair places in general because of the people there. But this place was nice. My husband's cut was a little pricey ($25) but it turned out really nice. It kept him out of a hat for a while, which made me happy. I'd like to go back for a brow wax and a touch up for my hair. My hair, by the way, turned out awesome. I went totally different, added bangs, long layers, and went drastically darker. She did a really great job. read more

This is an update to my original review. The owner of the salon, Julie, whom I didn't know was the owner when she did my hair, is now stalking and harassing me. She is leaving derogatory comments on all my yelp reviews and outright lying. I never asked for a refund nor did I get a refund from Zola Salon when she damaged my hair. For me to even leave such a review takes a lot because I'm such a sweet person and usually so understanding. One would think after sharing a thoughtful conversation about shared political beliefs and things like that with the person providing you your first ever facial the first time around, that you would just click and this esthetician would at the very least remember you for the next visit. Not only did Jenny seem to not remember me, but she also acted like one is just a number to do work on and that's it "next". My boyfriend bought me a Groupon that included 5 microdermabrasion services as a birthday gift to me, at this salon; and since I'd never gotten one, I was super excited to try it. My first visit was scheduled for the second to last week of July. It went great, however after I had told her I was there for my microdermabrasion she didn't perform it -- she did what she called an "initial" facial (whatever that meant). But Jenny was so nice and we bonded over similar topics so I thought okay, it's fine. Let's roll with it. My second appointment which would technically be my first actual microdermabrasion was scheduled a month out from then, for today, August 28th. I work full time and go to school full time; as genuinely as I can be, I could not remember the actual time as I was leaving work early for this appointment. I received a "reminder" two days before and then a reminder the day of but the day of was without the actual time on it. So I just assumed it was at 1:30pm (I later today realized I confused the time with my gyno appointment next week--sorry y'all for being human and an exhausted human being while at it). Anyway I made it at 1:30pm on the dot thinking my appt time was then. She acts giddy and tells me "you're early" I was like well...I'm on time I think but okay haha. Then she asks me something about my eyebrows or eyes or whatever, and that's when I realized she was confusing me with another client. She did too. I honestly could not understand her very well since with the wearing of masks and what not it's just hard to make out what anyone says without being able to read their dang lips anymore. But I understood she told me she had someone else booked for 1:30pm and that I could come back after 2pm; I was so nice I kind of was like whatever sure okay so I waited outside in my car and as I was waiting I started to think hmmm lemme double check my appt, so I went into one of my four email accounts and found an email from a while back indicating the appointment was in fact at 1pm. I apologized to her and texted her the screenshot of it saying I got confused , am all over the place, etc. Mind you--she ALSO confused my time and she didn't even remember when my scheduled appointment time was either so it was both of our faults, but she made it seem like I was being irresponsible. (Already so rude) She left me on read. I go back to the salon around 2pm and Julie (very sweet btw) was asking me what was going on and I told her everything I mention above and so she goes to check her schedule and says that she's still in with the other client since the other client was scheduled for 2pm. So I go "HUH" in my head again... I ask her if Jenny was actually available and free at 1:30pm and she tells me that yes, she was available from 1-2pm. So.......a facial takes about 30 mins to do and she could have taken me in right at 1:30pm but her excuse is that she needs apparently 30 more minutes to sanitize and prep the place for the next client (?????). So I'm here , left work early to do this, waited a whole month out, and she doesn't even bother to find a spot for me or offer to rebook me for sometime soon--nothing. She responds to my text hours later, like a couple minutes ago from this review, saying "sorry I'm committed today". Like how rude. I've read other reviews on here that say apparently she's done this with other people who have purchased Groupons where apparently she just half asses the service for them. I'm very disappointed. Julie was trying to be helpful and I appreciate that from her. But Jenny -- shocked and disappointed, to say the least. Looking to see if I can get my Groupon refunded back to my boyfriend since this was all a waste of time. read more

Found this salon through Groupon when looking for a decent place to get a blowout - tired of the Primp and Blow chain shops, the style never lasts and the prices keep going up. I came here because I bought a discount card, and I'm glad I did. The first service I used was getting my hair cut, and I was booked with Julie, who happened to be the owner. She is from NY, so we had a lot in common; however, the cut held up awesome. She takes her time to get what you want, and so it looks good. Julie is now the only person I use. I also have gotten a brow wax, pedi and mani. I loved the wax, the pedi and mani was ok, I prefer my regular place, but again, she took her time and did a good job. Worst. Experience. EVER. I was able to book a last minute appointment for color and highlights. When I arrived, I was surprised (not a bad one) to notice a smaller, more "cozy" salon. The receptionist, although very new and sweet, didn't know much about anything. When my stylist, Gina (claims 25 years experience), walked out...I became nervous. No smock, hair product all over her clothing. She sat me down and took her 10 minutes before finally getting me a smock. There was a lot of awkward silence and at one point they propped open the front door and the wind blew so hard I had hair, of the person getting a cut to the left of me, all in my face! After an hour, Gina finished my highlights and stuck me under the dryer for an additional 30 minutes (too long to have bleach in your hair). After the highlights, she agreed I needed a lighter color to tone down the highlights and brighten my natural color. When it came time to rinse my hair, she had me bent back, head in the sink, for 15 minutes...washing and rewashing my hair. I became concerned and when I asked if everything was ok, she assured me it was and that she wanted to do an extra conditioning treatment because my hair seemed to be really dry (I wonder why). She sat me down to style and by then it was 6pm (my appointment started at 3pm) She threw some product in my hair and flipped it around carelessly as she held a very hot blow-dryer a little too close to my scalp. I became a little uneasy and asked that she stop. As soon as I started to stand up, is when Gina finally decided it was a good idea to inform me she had turned my hair BLUE!!!! (Which I'm guessing is why she washed it so many times) I was absolutely appalled that not only had she failed to tell me she turned my hair blue when she first saw it, she waited until I was ready to leave before offering to fix it. I have a very professional job and cannot be seen at work with blue hair! As much as I would have liked to stay and get my hair fixed, it was already 30 minutes after they close, my hair was fried and had been through torture, and to be honest I didn't trust her to touch my hair again! This review is for Jenny, the esthetician. We bought Groupons and my daughter and I had our facials yesterday. Jenny is very sweet, but I am sorry to say, it was one of the worst facials we've ever had. Her extractions are excruciating. I've had hundreds of facials over the years, and not one has come close to this kind of pain. I had to ask her to stop, and I've never had to do that before. She has no clue how to extract, and the proof is in the outcome, because both my daughter and I have scars all over our faces today. This is a sign of incompetency and inexperience. Extractions should not leave marks. I just pray they do not scar us permanently. As for the Groupon, it really was not a deal at all, because she doesn't do her regular facial if you bought a Groupon. She cuts the time down and doesn't include any of the massaging, etc. Groupons are supposed to be to get a regular service at a discounted price, not to get a discounted service at at discounted price, then it's really no discount at all.
