I have an upcoming job interview and decided I wanted to update/freshen up my look beforehand. I looked around for a salon that was open and taking last minute appointments and found Ryan at Salon Zoey close by. The salon was so clean and nice. Ryan was so friendly, really listened to what I was looking for, his communication was great and i really enjoyed my time with him while he cut and styled my hair. I was so happy with the results! I feel great and my confidence has been boosted!

So far, so great. I had a Keratin treatment on Tuesday, just washed my hair today, Saturday, and I am happy. My curly, frizzy hair is tame and sleek, and it dried very easily and nicely. I blow-dried my hair after it had air-dried for a while. When I called to inquire about the Keratin, Zoey professionally answered all of my questions and delivered what she told me at my appointment. The whole process was literally smooth from start to finish. I'll see Zoey again for a haircut and blow-dry in 8 weeks. Thanks!

If you're looking for best keratin treatments in town look no further! Alma did my KCMAX treatment about a week before my vacation to Florida. She did let me know that it is not a permanent Straightening Treatment but a treatment that repairs the hair and makes it much more manageable than its natural state. The results were amazing! my hair usually gets incredibly frizzy with the slightest humidity here in Chicago but with this treatment not even the notorious Florida humidity that reached up to 95 degrees could friz my hair up significantly! I have been using the products suggested by Alma and they work and smell great too. I highly recommend this treatment and the product supplied by Salon Zoey! Very relaxing process as well. Stop by to get yours done!!

BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT by Zoey Salon- it came out perfect!

I have been seeing Alma at Zoey salon for a good 3 years now. I absolutely love her. My hair is thick and frizzy. I started doing the keratin treatment with her, and more recently, asked her about the Brazilian Blowout service, and I am so glad I did! I loved the work Alma did with my hair- it feels so soft, silky and smooth. A benefit of the Brazilian Blowout treatment is that you don't have wait the normal 3 days to wash it (like with keratin). They wash it and dry it at the salon, so you are all set before you leave! Alma is great at consulting with her clients based on their hair type. If you have questions, be sure to ask her if you should do keratin or Brazilian blowout and she will tell you what's best for you hair! Thanks for a great service always, Alma!!

3 weeks post-Brazilian blowout (tons of frizz)

Honestly, I was not going to write a review if they had remedied the situation appropriately and if they had good customer service. This was not the case. I got a Brazilian blowout and all over color 3 weeks ago. The all over color was botched (about one inch of my hair from the scalp was a different color than the rest) so I had to come back for a repeat color/gloss. That turned out fine but it was another trip that I had to make back to the salon. She remedied the situation by providing a trim of my ends, which I appreciated since it was the week of my best friends wedding and I really did not have time for extra appointments. When I got the Brazilian blowout, I asked about aftercare and if I really needed to get the shampoo and conditioner. She said it was a nice line of products but she really recommended that I get the iconic bonding spray for sure for the amino acids, so I got that. She did not explain that they only offer a guarantee if you purchase and use the shampoo and conditioner. I definitely would have purchased them if I knew that. Fast forward a couple weeks. My hair is super frizzy again. The Brazilian lasted MAYBE 2 weeks at most?? For $185.... I was in the process of moving so I wasn't able to call until week 3. I spoke with the manager who said that I can come in at 9am on Friday and they will shampoo and conditioner my hair with the recommended product and blow it out to see if the treatment was in my hair. I come back to the salon (for the 3rd time in 3 weeks) and my stylist and another stylist (maybe a manager, I'm not sure) proceed to ask me what's going on. I explain what happened and my stylist tells me that she told me about the guarantee (so basically calling me a liar). The other manager? states that it's been over 5 weeks so that it's probably all out of my hair since I didn't use the shampoo and conditioner. I explained to her that it had not been over 5 weeks and that I was never told about the guarantee. They kept going back and forth saying that I was told and that if I went swimming or in the lake that it would come out (which I told them that I did not do). It just seemed like they were reaching for any excuse they could to make it out like I was in the wrong...awful customer service. Then they tell me that the manager left and that none of them have time to do the blowout. So basically, what was the point of me coming back to the salon?! I asked them to call the manager, which the begrudgingly did. They came out after several minutes and said the manager would be here in 10 minutes. I waiting 15-20 minutes and the manager arrived. He said that he spoke to them and said that what he can offer is a partial refund. I questioned why I wasn't offered another treatment to fix the issue and he stated that because I didn't get the shampoo and conditioner, that I was not eligible for the guarantee...which I was NEVER told about. So basically I paid for half of a Brazilian blowout to last me 2 weeks. PLUS the "ionic bonding spray" that was pointless because the treatment is already out of my hair. I am not informed about a guarantee for a product that I paid for, yet I am responsible for somehow knowing that was a stipulation. If I was really trying to manipulate the situation, don't you think I would have claimed that I WAS using the shampoo and conditioner? I've worked customer service for decades and this is not how it is supposed to work.

My hair was damaged, uneven, and honestly I was scared to try again. Lira changed everything. She not only helped me achieve the blonde I originally wanted, but she did it in a way that protected my hair and brought it back to life. My color looks beautiful, natural, and exactly how I envisioned it. Even better--my hair is actually growing back and feeling healthy again. Lira is truly a master of her craft. She listens, she cares, and she knows exactly what she's doing. If you're thinking about going blonde or need someone to fix a color gone wrong, she's the one you want in your corner. Absolutely worth every visit.

First I will start with what was good…read more 1. The dye job ended up beautiful. I came in with pretty unclear instructions and reference photos and both the stylist and the owner were able to figure out what fit my needs. This seems to be a huge strength here. 2. They were able to fit me in last minute. What was bad 1. The total time listed online was 1.45 hours, the service ended up taking 2.45 hours. I have been to many salons and never had my hair take that long, especially when I was getting all over color and a blowout (no haircut). Perhaps this was due to me booking last minute. However, the website booking made it look wide open and I think it is the responsibility of the salon to accurately represent their booking capability. I would not have booked with them had I known what experience was to follow. 2. The salon overall seemed overbooked and people were bouncing around. Three different people worked on my hair. Personally, I really didn't like this set up. I like to build a relationship with my stylist and this hectic atmosphere was not synonymous with that 3. The blowout I had was so uncomfortable. The rollers were tangled up in my hair and I could feel it ripping out as the stylist took them out. I have never have a blowout be so painful. My hair had so many split ends after I looked in the mirror at home. 4. My hair fell the moment I stepped outside. Granted it was a windy day, but my hair doesn't typically fall that fast. I think this may have been due to the stylist rushing at the end. On one hand I'm glad she did because I had been sitting alone for quite some time, but on the other hand I paid for essentially nothing. My old stylist back home (moved cross country) had no problem giving me a blowout that lasted at least a few hours. Even on windy days. 5. At one point the owner took my stylist in the back and seemed to be scolding her. This is never something a new client wants to see. I immediately felt anxious that something had gone wrong with my hair color. It ended up great but tbh experience was awkward and handled strangely in my opinion. 6. Finally. The price came out to $260 for all over color and a blowout. I wouldn't mind this price if it wasn't for the lackluster experience. Hair salons are charging luxury prices without offering luxury experiences. The pricing structure is also strange. They charge $60 extra for toner but I have never had a color job that didn't need toner to look good. It feels strange to not include it all together. The toner charge was added after which was a surprise because toner has always been included in the price. To be clear, the website did ask if I wanted to add toner for $60. I thought that was for someone coming in looking just to tone and not add more color. Perhaps this was my mistake but I found the whole pricing structure strange. A few other things to note: water was offered but never given and they only accept cash/zelle/venmo tips. Overall this salon was not a fit for me. A lot of this is subjective preference but I think it's important that people understand what environment they are paying for when they sign up to spend hundreds. That being said, the color was beautiful and I am grateful for that.

I want to share my experience because I think other women should know what to expect…read more I came to the salon asking for blonde highlights, but my hair ended up looking noticeably darker than what I had asked for. What disappointed me most was not only the result, but the way my concerns were handled afterward. Instead of taking responsibility for the result and trying to understand why I was unhappy, the stylist repeatedly shifted the conversation toward blaming me. I was made to feel that the problem was somehow related to my language barrier and cultural differences in communication. At one point, the conversation even became about money and what I had paid for -- essentially, "You didn't pay for the whole highlight, right?" -- which felt completely inappropriate and shaming. I have never experienced this level of disrespect or lack of accountability in a beauty salon. I left feeling sad, embarrassed, and unwelcome, when I had simply come in expecting professional service and to be heard as a client. I want to be clear that I don't believe this experience represents the values of the entire salon or its owners. My issue is specifically with this individual stylist and the way he handled a situation when the result did not meet my expectations. I am sharing this so other women, especially those who may have a language or cultural communication difference, know to make sure their concerns are genuinely listened to and treated respectfully. A client should never be made to feel guilty or ashamed for expressing disappointment with a service.
