I made an appointment for a simple trim and was booked with Chris. No one told me he was new or…read moreasked if I was okay with that. During the cut, I had to ask if my hair was even, and he never showed me the sides or the back. He clearly didn't know what he was doing -- he couldn't even style it before I left. When I got home and saw it in the light, I was horrified. My hair was uneven, chopped up, and I even had bald spots. I went back hoping they'd fix it, and another stylist did what they could, but I walked out with basically a G.I. Jane haircut. Here's the worst part -- Chris never apologized. He was "too embarrassed" to say sorry, but apparently not embarrassed enough to give me the finger. The salon didn't offer a refund or any kind of compensation, just said they wouldn't charge me for fixing the damage their stylist caused in the first place. Hair grows back, sure -- but respect and trust don't. This whole experience was completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

I asked for a refund and they offered to have me come in and get it fixed. That seems like a really uncomfortable experience so I preferred a refund and would go elsewhere to get my hair fixed. I had 3 different email chains with various salon workers until Jean Tretheway got a hold of me. She proceeded to scream at me over the phone about how it was rude to get a refund because someone spent time on my hair already. (um...WHAT?!?) she also told me that my hair would grow back and then she screamed that I was not a good fit for the salon when I had frequented for years to have Hannah color my hair (Hannah was the best and did not do this haircut). Avoid Shear Design at all costs. A word of advise to the owner, Jean - the managing director of the salon - should probably be put through SEVERAL customer service trainings. Will be sure to spread the word.

Turn and run! I will be paying for my decision to trust Chrissy at this salon for YEARS to come. I…read morehad long silky hair that was very healthy, just yesterday. Today I have chemically burned, broken hair that is so dry that it looks and feels like HAY. If I don't immediately get to someone who knows how to treat this kind of damage, I will have NO hair within a few weeks, and I am not exaggerating in the slightest. It breaks if I touch it and there are pieces of broken hair all over my blouse as I write this, along with a lot of tears. Yesterday I went to Salon Evol and was exceptionally clear about what I was looking for. I asked if it was possible to get a body wave or perm so that I could end up with large, wide, bouncy curls, because my hair took a long time to blow out and was frizzy if I let it dry on its own. My schedule is getting busier and I needed something easier and faster. I said I hated "beach hair" and didn't want a messy look; I wanted defined, large curls and to be able to wash my hair and not style it but still have it look nice. Chrissy told me she could do that and that the only thing I might need to do is use a curling iron on some pieces around my face. Then she did the process. When she was finished, my hair resembled a messy FRENCH POODLE. It was skinny, wormy strands of incredibly messy hair and would have been a bad look even for the 80's. There were no real curls at all, just mess, and certainly nothing any person would say looked like a defined curl. I was in shock. I went home and tried to wash it out. Not possible. I ended up going back there today - because I apparently needed more proof that I couldn't trust this person. I feel like an idiot and all I can think of is "Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me." Chrissy told me that my hair would be in great condition if she reversed the process. I let her do the reverse process. And now? My hair is so brittle that just running a brush through it is impossible. The brush fills up with broken, brittle balls of hair with even the lightest stroke. I will now have to find someone who actually knows what they're doing and can treat horribly chemically damaged hair. It will be YEARS before all this damaged hair grows out. I have never been to any hairdresser worse than this woman. I will be paying for years for my mistake and for her ignorance. All she had to do was tell me that what I wanted wasn't possible and I would have thanked her and left. Instead? She decided that she'd rather take my money and ruin my hair than have an empty chair until her next scheduled appointment. I'm an international performer and this will adversely affect my career. I don't want even my husband or close friends to see me like this. My reason for going to get a process in the first place was that my hair took too long to style. NOW?? I will be spending SO MUCH MORE time doing deep conditioning treatments, going to real professionals for their treatments, changing my whole routine and regimen for months and years to come. Why do women do things like this to other women? Is it jealousy? Ignorance? Just for fun? All I can say is NEVER go to Salon Evol and I hope this woman retires or has her license taken away. See before and after photos below. I won't even post one of how it looks after reversing the tight perm she gave me.
