I have been getting my hair extension done by Jesika for the last 3 years and I can honestly say she is the best ever. I have been so pleased every time I go to get them done. Not only does She makes me look beautiful, she has also helped me build my confidence back up. She is caring and compassionate about her work as well her professionalism and expertise. She always knows what is best for my hair as I have very thin hair. I love my extensions as it gives me the fullness I long for as well as it looking so natural. I definitely recommend Jesika and her team if you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable on hair extensions and any other hair services you may be looking for. This has now become my favorite Salon. I have always been very particular about my hair. I have tried various other salons from the cheap to the very expensive and seem to have always been disappointed when I left because my hair had not turned out as planned. BUT not here.... It always turns out better than I thought it would. Staff is always nice, helpful and actually listens to what YOU want. Even though the décor feels bright, clean and inviting and is set in current fashion. It reminds me of the old school salon because you can always have some great conversations here. I love to be greeted by happy smiling faces and welcoming feel. read more

It was my first time getting my hair dyed-ever! I chose Salon Taboo and immediately felt so welcomed there. Jesicka did my hair exactly how I wanted it and was so personable and fun to talk to! I always get the best service when I come into Salon Taboo. I am always greeted as soon as I get into the door and I'm very welcomed. I have never had a bad experience when I have been in the salon. Salon taboo is an all over amazing experience. Full disclosure I came here for the first time as a friend of mine got a job here, and after my first appointment I can see why. The staff here are not only competent and skilled, but artists. There are many places that you could go with skilled and well trained stylists, however here you will find stylists with an eye for trend, but also an eye for you. They are creative and stylish, but know who you are and what works for you. Not concerned with portfolios or product placement, they just want to make you feel good about how you look, and they succeed. Furthermore it's FUN!! Open to creative ideas, and always friendly this salon is a unique find in our area. I would recommend this place to anyone who asked, and to a few who haven't;) Talent is a special thing and at salon taboo they have that and more! read more

History

Established in 2012.

Salon Taboo started as a dream I had when I started beauty school at 15. I grew up in the salon world and I wanted to open a business that combined the warm, welcoming feeling of a small town beauty shop with the skill and expertise of a high end salon. Salon Taboo is centrally located between Murrysville and Greensburg on Route 22. Salon Taboo is an environmentally friendly salon and none of the products we use are tested on animals. Salon Taboo is also very involved in the community through charity events, donations and school sponsorships. Feel free to come in, meet us and take a look around. Our refreshment bar is always stocked with the best coffees and teas so come in and enjoy a cup, even if you are not receiving a service. We would love to get to know you soon!

Meet the Business Owner: Jesika L.

I have been a licensed stylist since 2004. I grew up in the beauty industry and have been in love with it since I was a young child. I started beauty school at the age of 15 and obtained my license a few weeks before I graduated high school. I have always known that I would own a hair salon so I set up m career to prepare me for the job of being a business owner. I worked at several different types of salons and pursued management training and positions at all my jobs. I also attended beauty school for my teacher's license. I believe that clients come to a salon not only for the service they receive but also the experience they have while they are there. They have an ATM machine at the back of the room, so luckily, I didn't have to go out to one then come back. But it charges $2.50. But now I know. And if you've read my review, you know, too. We will definitely go back here. Oh, I forgot to add that they ask for your birthday. While I was sitting & waiting for the kiddo to get done, someone came in and signed in. Best experience and service I've ever had. I have never had a 'regular' stylist before. I just walked in to a discount hair place when I needed a trim and took who they gave me.
