Last year the barber that had been cutting my boyfriend's hair for 18 years, retired. So, he referred him to someone in his shop. When he went for his next haircut he came home with a cut he could have gotten at a military base. It was a DISASTER! Brian has curls that most would die for, and they cut them all off So, the next time he was ready to get his haircut he came to Sherry. She cut his hair PERFECT! It wasn't too long, it wasn't too short, it was literally PERFECT! Brian never lets anyone trim his beard because they always screw it up, but I convinced him to let her try. PERFECT! My boyfriend lives in Phoenix, so the next time he needed a haircut he went to someone his friend uses. Again, he came home looking like a DISASTER! I didn't want to tell him it looked like someone had used a bowl as their guide to cut his hair. Needless to say, from now on he will be traveling 3 1/2 hours to get his hair done by Sherry. No explanation , no thanks, nothing about price, no goodbye. I think she is/was the owner. She just yelled to the other stylist about how they'd split my tip when she got back. I should have asked price but had no idea the cost could really possibly be that high. I did mention to the 2nd stylist that this look was not the coloring I was looking for at all. She really didn't have any suggestions and probably didn't want to get in trouble. I believe I kindly texted Sherry, the Owner, emailed her and called her several times. All of which she never responded to. I was overly polite. I do not recommend supporting this business, she doesn't deserve it. And definitely don't go to Sherry/Stylist/Owner for color or anything else. She did a terrible job, never apologized, never offered a refund or re-coloring. Was just generally dismissive to me. Go to Kristy at JCPenney salon at the mall in PD. Fabulous color and cut for amazing prices. I can't tell you anything about the other stylists but they all seemed happy & positive and supportive of one another. I've seen good reviews for many of them, but I really love Kristy. I have…read morehad a lot of frustration w/ other stylist when I specifically asked for a "layered" cut b/c my hair is very fine and has little natural volume. The stylist would act as if they knew what I wanted and it would always be the same UNlayered bob! Daniel listened carefully to what I wanted and with his Sasoon training knew exactly what to do! It is the best cut I've had in this area. The only problem is I have NEVER paid $100 for a hair cut before! And frankly, that is way over my monthly budget, so I will have to consider carefully whether I can afford this service next time. However that does not effect my UNreserved PRAISE for Daniel's skill and results as a hair stylist!

I've lost count of how long I've been coming to her to color & cut my hair but it's been at least 6+ years. I also happily drive three hours to see her, that should say all it needs to say right there. Stephanie is the owner of the salon and she works magic on my hair. I've always been known to be very picky with my hair which is why I struggled to find the right artist for some time. Once I found Stephanie through my mom it's been smooth sailing since. She listens to your needs and respects the way you want your hair done. I'm grateful to her because my hair is so healthy after coming to see her all these years. I continue to get so many compliments on the color she helped pick for me and she only cuts the dead ends that need sprucing, so my hair has maintained it's length. The prices at Salon Montana are extremely reasonable for the quality of service you get. Also I don't know how she does it but my color actually stays! I'll come back 90 days after and we notice how good the majority of my color has lasted. At other salons I felt like the colors quickly faded but not here. The shop itself is very welcoming and cozy. Always clean and the location in downtown La Quinta is perfect as you can run next door to grab a quick coffee or snack before/after your service. Stephanie really tailors her services to everyone. Men and women's hair. I'm in my 30's and she's my stylist for life (or for however long she will put up with me lol). Also to note my moms in her 60's and also comes to her regularly. Her hair has never looked better and is so healthy now. It just shows if your reading this, whoever you are, it's likely that Stephanie will get it just right for you and she definitely deserves your business. I have followed Felipe from another establishment here in the desert. To be quite honest... I'd follow him wherever he was doing hair... in his garage, park, or Walmart parking lot.... Because he's the best. I have dark brown... waist length hair with gray roots... so my color, cut, and style take up a lot of product, time, muscle, and technique. Felipe does an amazing job and always exceeds my expectations of my visit. When I leave the salon my hair is gorgeous. Felipe also has an amazing knowledge of hair products... it's really quite impressive how he knows exactly what one's hair is lacking to elevate its texture or appearance... he knows his stuff. I love the salon. It's on El Paseo nestled in the exclusive El Paseo Village. Parking was easy and there are wonderful places to shop and dine before or after my appointment. Large amounts of my hair are now falling out, the color is uneven and discolored, and the overall condition of my hair has been completely compromised. To make matters worse, I was charged full price ($800) despite the extensive damage. I now have to spend additional time and money trying to repair what was done.
