I'm sharing this because I believe customers should know what can happen behind the scenes of a business they choose to support. I was scheduled only 2-3 days a week for about 4-5 hours per shift. Much of my training consisted of tests through an app that I only had the opportunity to complete a few times. I was ultimately let go because I hadn't learned the difference between UVA and UVB rays quickly enough. I understand the importance of knowing the information required for the job, but I don't feel I was given enough opportunity to practice, review, or improve before being judged on how quickly I learned it. I was putting effort into my job, showing up for my shifts and completing the work I was asked to do, including cleaning the tanning beds and other physical duties. I was also upfront that I personally did not want to use UV tanning beds and preferred spray tanning and red-light therapy. I can't say whether that influenced my termination, but it did make me question whether I was given a fair opportunity. What bothered me most was the lack of consideration and professionalism. My father had just been diagnosed with kidney cancer, and management knew because I was crying at work after finding out and spoke with one of the managers. I still stayed and finished my shift that day. Despite knowing what I was dealing with, I never felt anyone checked in or considered whether something outside of work was affecting me. I was ultimately let go while my father was undergoing surgery to remove his cancerous kidney, and I was terminated in the front of the store in front of other employees rather than being spoken to privately. I found the way this was handled extremely embarrassing and unprofessional. I'm not reviewing this because I want my job back or disagree with businesses having standards. I'm reviewing it because how a business treats its employees matters, and customers deserve to know what is happening behind the scenes of the businesses they support. For a business that has been around for years, I expected a much higher level of professionalism, communication, training, and respect toward employees. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

However being a manicurist by trade I would have thought I would have received more of a manicure with my appointment. My nails looked great for about a week. This process is supposed to look good for at least 2. I have already had some oft he gel chip off and I didn't even do any dishes in the mean time. So that is why I gave it 3 out of 5.

Even the same employee was there. She's a sweetheart... The beds here are ok. If your a seasoned experienced tanner like me you don't look at the model or how new the beds are but I look for the quality of the bulb in the bed or stand up, and if they are new and powerful or if they are getting old and not as bright. I look at the bulb and unread how many watts it is and you can tell them how well your tan is going to be. Total tan starts at 110-120 watt. Here they start at 100w. So I'm not making the commitment to but a package. BUT I will go here when it's close because I like the hours. To each their own...

They helped me pick out the right bed, gave me instructions for how to increase or decrease my time next time I tan, told me about showering and moisturizing after. The beds are great and they even give you a towel, CANDY and googles for your tanning session. Love this place I will be back!

I was a tanorexic throughout my teens and early 20s so I have seen my fair share of tanning salons…read more I auditioned Zip Tanz on Woodward but was put off by their crappy packages (can't buy 10 or 20 sessions only month to month.Ummmm what?) as well as their bad customer service. I don't tan regularly (or really at all ) anymore and have learned to embrace the pasty. I went strictly because my boyfriend and I are going to the Bahamas in a couple weeks and I didn't want to spend any of our getaway locked inside the hotel room beet red and convinced I was dying of heat stroke. This may or may not have happened to me before. ;) My boyfriend came along with me and I convinced him to get a base tan too. He has never tanned indoors in his life and his heritage is Norwegian and Irish so he's basically so pale he glows in the dark. When we went the first time we interacted with John (the owner) who was super friendly and explained everything really well. He really encouraged us to not overdo it and explained the "science" behind tanning. My boyfriend is a physician so anytime anyone starts on bogus health claims he knows better. John had him at "melanocyte." ;) The packages are very affordable and they offer a ton of different packages based upon what you need. A good variety of beds and I am seeing results quick. My boyfriend has not burned which is saying a lot and is building a decent base color. The salon itself is nothing fancy though if you ask me it doesn't need to be. That cost is always shifted to the customer. The salon is clean, there are mirrors and candy in every room and free goggles to use. These seem like no brainers but I have been to plenty of tanning places that didn't care about the little things. Great value, great experience.

Every single one of the girls have been punctual, welcoming and incredibly polite. Even in the face of another clients verbal abuse. I believe their names were Lauren and Sam. Duplicate the standards they offer and there would always be 5 ratings across the board!!! However I have also dealt with Alexis, Shelby and Nina I believe and they have been as equally qualified and attentive and incredibly polite.! I do however wish that there was a policy in place to protect these valuable assets to this company from the verbal abuse from clients. I come from a professional/ management line of work and would NEVER subject such valuable assets to verbal abuse from anyone. Not to mention I was only one of several other clients that have experienced such a vulgar berate directed at these girls. This was the one and only thing that was unacceptable as I as well as several others had to be subjected to other clients nasty vulgar and extremely unacceptable behavior from a nother client, these girls did everything in there power to rectify the situation which clearly not enough for this nasty client . Considering hear the girls did everything conceivable to rectify and accommodate the client, she clearly wanted something for nothing!!! the money this client may have brought in failed by comparison to the EXCELLENT service these girls tried to give this woman. If I were in charge of HR, they would have been given accommodations and recognition for the way they remained composed and professional!!!!!

The staff is friendly and always helpful!! The beds are great too!! I've been tanning for 16 years and this salon definitely keeps up with the new products. One thing I absolutely love about coming here is how clean it is!! There isn't nasty stuff all over the floor, they clean the little benches and the beds are always super clean! I used to go to VIP for years, but I live right next to this location and I'm super glad that I made the switch!!
