El mejor salon Dominicana en sur Florida…read more When it comes to hair I am very particular on who I allow to touch it. I only go to Dominican salons to get my hair done but not every Dominican salon is the same. So I had to do my research. I found this place on Google and drove from Miami to North Lauderdale just to get my hair done. I was not disappointed. My hair was badly damaged from having put on faux locks but she was able to salvage a lot of my hair. Honestly it came out way better than I expected! I recommend this salon because she is professional, personable and fairly priced. I have visited other Dominican salons and I will tell you that this salon is far better than the others! You don't wait for hours just to get a wash and blow out. I wish she was closer to me but after coming to her, I do not go to any other Dominican salon in south Florida. I will continue to make that drive.

I'm genuinely disappointed writing this because I came to this salon through family referrals and…read morewas very excited -- but also very nervous -- for my first professional color appointment. This is actually the exact reason it took me so long to even decide to color my hair in the first place. I was worried about ending up with something too highlighted, too chunky, or not natural-looking. I trusted this salon because my family members go there, and because the stylist reassured me multiple times that she fully understood the soft "expensive brunette" look I was trying to achieve and could absolutely do it. I spent a long time explaining and showing inspiration photos for a very specific look: soft, blended "expensive brunette" dimension with subtle low-contrast color and soft layered shaping. The photos I showed were rich dimensional brunettes -- not chunky, stripy, or heavily highlighted. Unfortunately, the final result looked much brighter, chunkier, and less blended than what I had requested, and the haircut also did not reflect the layered V/U-shaped look I asked for. Because this was my first professional color service, I relied heavily on the stylist's guidance regarding timing and expectations. Before the service even began, I specifically expressed concern about whether there was enough time to fully achieve the look I wanted, and I even offered to come back another day entirely so the stylist would have more time to work with me and not feel rushed. I was repeatedly reassured that there was "plenty of time" and told not to worry. Since I had never had a dimensional color service before, I trusted that assessment. Unfortunately, the appointment ended up running extremely late anyway, the salon was closing by the end, and I never really had a proper opportunity to sit down and fully evaluate the final result before leaving. However, once I did get home and properly see my hair, I knew immediately that it was not what I had asked for. I actually contacted the salon shortly after the appointment because I knew almost immediately it wasn't what I wanted, but shortly afterward I experienced serious health-related circumstances and was unable to return within the normal correction timeframe. Months later, once I was finally able to address my hair again, I called hoping to work something out. What disappointed me most was how dismissive and defensive the response immediately felt. Before I could even fully explain the situation, it became clear there was no willingness to work collaboratively or even discuss possible solutions -- despite the fact that I fully acknowledged the time that had passed, explained the serious health-related circumstances that delayed my return, and specifically offered to pay again if needed. If you are specifically a brunette looking for very soft, blended, low-contrast dimensional color, I would strongly recommend making sure the stylist you book with truly specializes in that aesthetic. At the very least, I believe clients spending this amount of money should feel there is some willingness to work with them respectfully when the final result clearly does not align with the inspiration photos provided.

I've been a client of this salon for over 20 years on and off while living in NYC, and have always…read moreappreciated the quality of work. At my most recent appointment, I had a very uncomfortable experience. After being seated, I was addressed in front of others about a comment that my hair is "never right" and that my stylist may not be the right fit for me. This was not what I intended, and it felt embarrassing to have that conversation publicly while already in the chair. There have been times where I've needed minor adjustments after seeing the final color fully styled, which have always been addressed and corrected without issue. I continued to return because I was generally happy with the end result. I completely understand that concerns about adjustments may need to be discussed, and I respect that not every client/stylist relationship is the right fit. However, I would have appreciated a private conversation beforehand rather than being put in that position at the start of the appointment. The way this was handled felt unprofessional and disappointing, especially given the level of service and cost. I will not be returning as there are many other salons that can do it right the first time. Just sharing my experience for others.

I have been a loyal customer of Salon Council for several years and have always trusted them with…read moremy hair, which is why this experience was so disappointing. On Wednesday, I had my roots touched up with a single-process color. When I got home, it was obvious that the color was uneven, with one section noticeably darker than the rest. I called the salon on Thursday and explained the issue. At that time, I was told it would be corrected as a complimentary service. When I arrived Saturday, the colorist acknowledged the color difference as did both owners. The owner, Joel, told the colorist it was because she did not pull the color through my hair enough to blend it. However, then I was informed that I would have to pay $100 for a toner to fix a mistake that was not mine. I was shocked I was being asked to pay to fix a color error. I have had this happen in the past at other salons and it has always been fixed without an issue. As someone who has supported this salon for years, I expected much better customer service. Mistakes can happen, but how a business handles them is what matters. Instead of honoring what I had been told and correcting the uneven color, I was asked to pay more to fix their work. I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and undervalued as a longtime customer. Unfortunately, because the salon would not correct the issue without charging me, I now have to purchase color and fix it myself at home. I sincerely hope Salon Council reconsiders how they treat loyal customers when a service does not turn out as expected.

She put my foils on super quickly also. She walked away and didn't come back. A young girl finally came after awhile to take me to wash my hair. She did an ok job-a quick little head massage. She then took me back to the chair and started blow drying my hair--simply to get most of the dampness out. The stylist finally came over and finished the drying. I was kind of shocked that she didn't even check the cut once done. She threw a bit of some kind of oil on my hair and was done. The color was like mud. I had asked for some chunky lowlights...I ended up with pretty much an all over color. I left it looking limp and flat. The whole service was about an hour and 10 minutes. I guess she rushed it since I was there close to closing. I figured I'd restyle it at home. The next morning, it was so oily, I washed it. I couldn't do anything with it because the cut was horrible. I immediately called and left a message and emailed the salon. I got an email to come in later that day. Another guy did what he could to fix it. It still is horrible. I haven't worn it down since they messed it up. Also, the color was bad. There is a big splotch of dark brown right under the top layer. I didn't see this till I was going to pull it up I went in with a completely blank slate--my hair was pretty much all white. I left with a really bad disaster. For the $200+ dollars I was charged, I'd expect to love my hair and get much better service. This is anything but a luxury/upscale salon. I'm totally disappointed with the botched job. I HATE it. Crazy..a person's hair is a stylist's business card. I never would've let me leave like that. I won't be back.
