That day, I called Salon Le Fini, and spoke with the front desk manager who told me that Victoria would be seeing me on Saturday Sept 1st at 10 am. I confirmed the date, location, time, etc and put the information in my phone. This past Saturday, I arrived at the salon, and was greeted warmly by the front desk manager - however, found it QUITE odd that the salon was open by no stylists were there yet (with multiple people already waiting). After 10:15ish, the front desk manager, sat down next to me and apologized. Stating that Victoria was on her way, that I would be seen as soon as she arrived, and that "it was her mistake as she only wrote down my appointment, but forget to put it in the actual calendar." Feeling a little dismayed, but knowing that we are all human and mistakes happen, I stated I understood and continued waiting. 10:30 rolled around, and I got another apology. 10:45, and yet another apology. 11 am rolled around, and i was feeling my patience wear thin. About 11:15, I had a stylist named Victoria come up to me and introduce herself. (She had already arrived and started on TWO other people, even though I was assured I would be seen first!!!!) Victoria's behavior was so rude and abrasive it is almost appalling. Victoria approached me, *told* me my appointment wasn't until 2 pm, that I was inconviencing her by arriving so early. (Mind you at this point I had already waited almost an hour and a half!) I politely stated, excuse me but my appointment was for 10 am. Victoria then brought me up to the computer system and processed to confirm my contact information - i verified that all of that contact information was correct. To which she stated, I should have received confirmation texts and emails. Note: Those were NEVER received (even in junk inboxes). I informed Victoria of that and she said that isn't her fault and I should know my appointment time. Trying to stay polite, I said, "ma'am, I do know my appointment time, I made it for 10 am, then wrote it down, and put it in my calendar on my phone; I wouldn't have made an appointment for 2 pm because I am NOT free at that time." Victoria proceeded to argue with me and tell me that it is not her fault if I got the time wrong or didn't get the reminders. I informed her that not receiving the reminders is not my fault either, and means they should probably verify their system is working, that i have now been told multiple stories by multiple people, so it appears they are LYING to cover their behinds about forgetting to put me into the system, and that it has now been almost two hours of my time completely wasted. I would NEVER recommend anyone to book services through this salon - unless you want to waste multiple hours of your day and not receive anything but lies, argument, rude/abrasive customer service, and no services.

I generally wear weaves, but wanted to switch to a more protective style. Since my stylist, doesn't do braids I looked up a few styles and decided that I wanted someone to give me Marley twists. On a relatively late, Thursday night I found myself outside of Crown Royal Hair Salon. I had already been disappointed once, because after booking an appointment elsewhere I was canceled on very unprofessionally. I walked in to Crown Royal, and was greeted warmly by a stylist working out of a private room. She informed me that they had a braider on site, but she was unable to do the style I wanted. However, she gave me the card of a woman that was able to do Marley twists. I was deflated, because I figured since the stylist was off, she wouldn't want to come into the salon to take a walk-in client...but I was wrong! I called the number I was given, and was consoled by a very sweet woman named, Awa - who agreed to come to the salon to do my hair. I was surprised, given how late it was but glad I would be getting my hair done after all! The salon has a great set up, I appreciated the fact that every stylist has a private suite with a television, sink and styling station. It made the experience very special for me. I got to get my hair done, and watch my favorite television show too! Awa is amazing, I have relaxed hair and was concerned the style I wanted wouldn't support the weight of the braiding hair but she did a wonderful job. Very neat, quick work, she's also very meticulous about detail (she trimmed all the small hairs off of all of my braids!) and doesn't cut corners. I'm not sure if it is a salon wide deal, but I was offered $20 off for my first service as a new client with Awa. Definitely a great perk if you ask me. There's a barber shop next door, so you and your boo can get your hair done at the same time. There is also a beauty supply a few steps away, so if you need to run and buy something for your hair appointment you're well within reach. Hungry? Chick Fil-A is right across the street! LOL! So this past saturday I went in looking to get a quick weave, I've never got it before. However, I've seen it on others and it looks nice. So when I walked in I looked for someone since it was my first time there, and the lady in the first booth as soon as you walk in asked could she help me, so I replied yes, I was looking to get a quick weave and she said she could do it and it would be "100" dollars. I said okay fine and I was ready to get started. As I sat in her chair and she was going through my natural hair she said, "you have a lot of hair and your hair is long." well my hair isn't that long to me it touches my collarbone or a bit shorter. Anyways, so she said that and I said well would it be a problem? she replied no. Mind you I know many girls with longer hair who get a quick weave. So I got my hair washed and she took my leave out and put gel and some sort of lotion I believe and got under the dryer, oh my hair wasn't put in a ponytail or anything the hair in the back was tucked under like a one braid type of thing. Anyway, I get in the dryer gt back out she puts a hardener on it then after that she glued the tracks. End result my hair Looked Great! from the front because my leave out always blends well with any hair. So fast forward to the next day, a track came out at the bottom so as i felt my hair, I noticed that my hair was out, like basically a fro, with nothing securing it. I was like wtf but I was like hey maybe i can fix it. But when I get to work I asked my co-worker hey can you take a pic of my hair, some reason it feels weird and I cant see. THe face she made was like a shocker she was like Kris, what in the hell? and it wasn't until I looked at the pic I was so embarrassed. So i quickly text the stylist " Sharon" and told her what happen, she said I can fix it.. but at this point I felt so stupid and embarrassed because this shouldn't happen only after two days. I told her I do not feel comfortable with her doing my hair again due to this experience, and I don't trust her. So she was saying things like I'm being dramatic but how am I being dramatic when I just got my hair done and it looks terrible, I didn't even go on my outing with friends. So anyways she finally says I will refund your money no problem. I went to a professional stylist and she was so upset she said "Oh hell no get your money back." she also said I got played because the lady didn't even put a cap on my head, and if she knew my hair was thick and long it was supposed to be cornrowed down. I asked three other girls that do hair, and they were shocked as well to know I didn't have a cap nor was my hair in ponytail or secured. so basically I got played!!1 So after work I call her to meet up, and she then tells me I'm only refunding you 80.00 dollars, mind you I paid her 100 dollars plus a 20 dollar tip! yeah a tip. So i said well can I atleast get 100 back i did tip you, she said its for the shampoo cost, but um isn't that protocol, but I said okay so the tip should cover that, but she said no "like she said she will pay me 80.00. and that i said i liked my hair when I left, ofcourse I did it looked good from the outside. when I met her she had the money in her hand, I said okay do you wanna see my hair, I turned around and showed her and she said "okay nonchalantly" I thought she would say I'm so sorry this happened, this isn't my best work or something but she didn't care. not only did I lose 40 dollars but I also lost money for the hair I purchased so total I lost on 90.00 additional dollars. To conclude, this post is not to bash the salon itself, but the professionalism of the stylist, I felt advantage was taken because I am naive and too nice, so its my fault, but you don't do people like that. I attempt to give fair and balanced reviews so I will present both sides of my experience…read more The good: - The appointment started on time and was efficient - The hair came out fine The bad: Just about everything else - When I got to the appointment I explained to the stylist Bre that I have scalp issues and a medicated shampoo that my dermatologist prescribed to be applied to my scalp but not drawn through the hair because it is very drying. She seemed agreeable but then proceeded to put the shampoo all over my hair stating that she's seen the shampoo before and "that's the procedure for all my other clients". What is done for other clients in this regard is irrelevant. My doctor gave instruction and if the stylist did not want to do that, she should have been up front. Mind you, she never looked closely at my scalp but refused to follow the directions of someone who had. - At the end of the appointment, she attempted to raise the price stating that what was on the website "is the base price". My hair is about 6-7 inches long and did not require extensive detangling. The website says NOTHING of a base price with possible increases. - The absolute worst part of this appointment was how much the poor communication skills carried through from beginning to end. So at the end, I get told that ONLY CASHAPP or CASH is accepted. This is NOT on the website (which states credit cards are accepted). This was NOT mentioned when I texted with Bre prior to the appointment. This is NOT mentioned on the front door of the salon (which has credit card decals on it). I offered to pay by Venmo, Paypal or Zelle as I do not have Cashapp and was not going to download it for this purpose. I would have happily paid cash if I was told about this beforehand. She said she would accept a check so I went home to get the check. Upon my return, she tells me that she really wanted cash because she did not know when she would go to the bank. At this point I was completely irritated and done. I told her I was absolutely not going to an ATM in the dark nor paying ATM fees due to this business's poor communication skills. The claim was that they stopped taking credit cards and have not updated the website "because of the pandemic". IT's **2023**. The pandemic started in **2020**. To say that's the reason for the lack of update is absolutely ridiculous.
