Today I went in for a full set builder gel and it was the absolute worst technique I could imagine, she applied giant globs of gel at the base spilling all over the edges my nails were fat and lumpy and uneven and then barely any at the tips and I kept telling her this is not proper technique she should be applying an even layer all the way down and she said she would file it later. I kept insisting she stop doing that but she didn't listen. She CURED THEM with giant globs then filed them and I was like you don't see the globs? There not even! They're lumpy. This is the epitome of what every video online wil l tell you NOT to do! I had to teach her proper technique that she should be applying an even layer. My nails looked horribly and she basically had to file off ALL of the builder gel and then go over it with regular gel. To finally make them look normal. The sides are still fat and lumpy. I had to file them myself when I left. I was planning on coming here to get my nails done for my wedding in a few weeks but unfortunately the skill level at this salon with builder gel is very alarming. I wanted to stop her but the gel was on at that point. I'm flying to LA tomorrow and will have them fix it. I'm not trying to be mean but the management needs to teach proper technique. It was low effort and they should take better care of having higher quality skill. Please watch a video online or tik tok of how to apply builder gel if you go here and then compare the technique they are using you will see it is not industry standard. Given the past reviews, I requested a female therapist and my partner had a male therapist. The massages were very firm and strong. They work hard here and got a good amount of knots out. I would describe the massage as a lot of pressure with a Swedish and acupressure style with some Thai massage-like stretches. I think there were instances of the deep tissue massage on my shoulders, but there could have been more deep tissue at other aspects of the massage, though don't be afraid to ask them to focus on certain spots. The place was cold with AC on, but the hot stones they put on your foot, back and neck throughout were warming. The place was separated into various rooms with curtains. To respond to other comments about tipping -- Because massage places like these are deeply discounted costing $40-70 instead of $80-110, I don't understand the issue with tipping $20 for a strong massage. It is still deeply discounted, so keep that in mind when frequenting these "cheaper" massage places - people still deserve a living wage. Would definitely recommend this no-frills place.

All and all I was satisfied with my treatment for a very affordable price of $90 total for 90 minutes whole body massage; you can't ask for anything less than that. If you have sensitive skin, perhaps skip the facial massage part since l'm almost certain they use the same lotion for the whole body as well though I didn't ask them to confirm it. Since I live near by so I went straight home to take a shower afterwards. It's best you wear short or shrort and tank top for full body massage. You always have the option to undress to your comfort level or fully clothed.

She responded very quickly to my message quickly when I expressed dissatisfaction with my hair afterward, and offered to redo the color but I'd rather wait for my hair to grow out as it's several inches too short and already has layers of color in it. I arrived at 11am for an appointment that my confirmation said would last until 1:30pm and we didn't finish until 4pm. She did my cut first and then did the baby lights- they added nice color and dimension to the hair as desired. But she then did my roots and combed the color through. While my color was processing, someone arrived for a haircut and had their haircut done while my color sat. Around 45 minutes later, my color was washed out and was darker than I expected- most of the baby lights were no longer visible. She mentioned the color will fade to be lighter as expected, but the result was surprising. I also asked for 2 inches or so to be cut, and mentioned I wanted to be able to put my hair in a ponytail still. When facing the mirror, the length was going great and she showed me it could still go in a ponytail. When turned around, I lost several inches for some reason and there was no going back. She took off even more in the back, and I left unable to put my hair in a ponytail. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication and she thought I wanted the grow out to be able to be in a ponytail, but I don't think so since she initially showed me she could put it in a ponytail. By 4pm I was tired and hungry and ready to get home- she asked if I wanted to see the hair blown out and styled which I did but just wasn't up for given the 5 hours I'd been there so I said no. There was also another person waiting for their 4pm appointment to start. When I did straighten it at home, I was surprised by my hair. I've gotten cuts that suit curly hair on many occasions and have always been able to wear the cuts straight too. This cut when straight appears uneven and choppy. The transition to the short back is awkward. She'd mentioned that at the end she'd go through and do any evening, cutting of long pieces etc needed but by then, as I'd mentioned, someone had shown up for another appointment at 4 and no additional cutting was done. I'm not sure if it was an off day, if my hair just took a few hours longer than expected or if she typically stacks appointments but things seemed rushed between the clients. I've never had someone try to do a whole haircut while dye sits on and I felt like my dye was likely left on too long due to it which resulted in the darker hair and missing baby lights. I've included pictures of my hair before the appointment length wise, what I asked for, and what I got. Given the many positive reviews, I'd say this could be chalked up to an off experience but given the starkly different results I thought it was worth sharing.

I seem to ask for one thing and always get another. I hate striped highlights and yet that seems to be what I end up with because people have foiled my hair. The other problem is that it will look one way framing my face but different in the back. Then finally my hair has been over processed and compromised. Too many highlights have pulled the curls right out of my hair and I need someone who can help reduce that damage. So these were some of my gripes. Then I found Denise who is an expert. No....I mean really. She teaches others how to hand paint "Balayage" hair. She also uses products like Olaplex and K18 to help preserve and condition the hair. Denise listened to me and had me come in to consult about my hair. I knew she wouldn't be cheap and I knew that she was booked solid but I am so happy to say I was able to get an appt. I also don't need to come in every 8 weeks. These highlights grow naturally and will only need to be redone every 6 months with just some toner to refresh it. (Hey I'm starting to speak hair because she explained things to me!!) I'm so happy but look at the photos for yourself. They speak louder than my review.

The first time they FUCKED up my eyebrows was 2020 right before the covid lockdown. and ever since then till I stopped going (Augest 2023) they were fucking up my eyebrows or almost letting me walk out with mismatched eyebrows unless I said something even if it was pretty obvious (I know eyebrows aren't going to be twin sisters but they were barley distance cousins) Why did I keep going? 5 years of them doing a great job and knowing other places close by didn't do a good job. They would also do a good job every once in a while so I would HOLD onto that hope but the last time I went they FUCKED up by eyebrow SOOO BAD I had to sit in the car until I stopped crying so I could drive home where I then cried the rest of the day. Even if I would make an appointment they would wait till I was there to heat up the wax so I would have to wait either way. They tried cancelling my appointment 4 minutes after the start time when I walked in at the 5 minute mark (only once did I not show up to an appoinment b/c I though I booked it for a Friday when I actually booked it on a Thursday and I called them to apologize, so it wasn't because I would not show up to appointments)
