Jake is great at working with the texture and adding layers and thinning it out so that it looks like more hair than before he started, but it doesn't go flat and limp or take a week to air-dry. I am pretty sure he is actually a wizard. This is the one place where I get compliments every time I leave with a new cut or color. It's also one salon where I feel totally comfortable that the staff cares about what I want and what is best for me. They never try to pressure me to buy expensive products, but they are great at recommending what will work best if I ask. My color is always spot-on, too. It looks so natural that no one would guess I color it. If you are interested in non-natural colors like blue or pink, they do a great job with that, too!

Tina was great! I got the best haircut I've gotten in a long time. Tina (the owner/stylist) really listens to what you want. I have had short blonde hair for many years and have gone to many salons in the tri-state area from Lancaster, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York. Alana at Viva La Vida does the best color of them all. To top that off her cuts are great as well. She is so customer oriented- she really listens to what you want and asks all the right questions. I was so upset and embarrassed so went to Jennifer for a haircut first- while there we discussed how she would fix my hair! Just brought my child to salon Avanti for a trim. The whole process took less than 10 minutes. The…read morestylist, Krista, was very nice to my son. The problem arose when we went to checkout. The receptionist said the charge was $20. Their website claims that children ages 0-5 are age x $2 so I was expecting to pay less than half of the price charged, which we've done before (see attached photo of pricing from their website). I understand that some stylists may charge more, but I should have been told that information when the appointment was scheduled, so that I could have made a more informed decision. I feel like that is a shady way of doing business. I think the best decision at this point would be to never refer or return to salon Avanti.
