The location is great if you have a car. If not, it's about a 10 minute walk off the Q from Dekalb. Overall, the neighborhood is nice and quiet, but parking is bad everywhere. Myrtle has parking only one one side of the street so that's a bit rough. Come early if you're driving. The color was a lot brassy for me at the roots and I had to ask for a root shadow to bring them down. I'm grey so pretty sure that's what it was, but don't be afraid to ask them to fix it if it isn't what you want. The ladies were LOVELY. And TBH, I have so missed an old school hair salon experience. I have a salon in DC but not for color. I can't be the only one sick of salon suites smh. There are some power issues in the area, but despite technical difficulties the ladies were attentive and friendly. Healthy hair is my jam, so I encourage anyone looking for a transformation to try them out. Loved it!!! She told me what I need to do at home to maintain what she's started in the salon. She emailed the products that she used so that I can recreate the styling process at home. I'm thankful for her time and dedication to the craft. A stylist can only give you the tools to assist you in your journey. You have to put in the effort to maintain so that you're successful at reaching your desired outcome. Initially, I had a medium size locs which she didn't like how it was parted and pull out parts to make them smaller. I had no issue because I'm thinking the smaller the parts the longer the hold with less frizz. Well, on my second week it didn't hold well since I have different textures and the product she uses to retwist is "Mygel". Let me just say most locticians gets irritated when you questioned them about products use and normally won't service you the next time because they don't like you to be knowledgable on what products they put in your hair. So, a month has past and I wanted to go to her again since I couldn't find a affordable loctician at the time and was told she only accepts appointments through her appointment online site. I never received it which I was waiting for her to email it to me. No response. So I took the initiative to find her site myself and schedule it on there which she declined. I'm thinking ok. She wants to service a gullible client who's willing to pay over $300 for sister locks that would take her a day or two instead of a meaninglessly $100 of a traditional locs that will take her less than 200 hours to complete since I have very short starter locks (4 inches to be exact). Let me just say she done me a favor by declining me because I have found a way better loctician who's willing to school me on lock care and products for locks and scalp. Don't get me wrong because she's a cool person...only when you come to her asking about sister locks. If you have traditional locs then do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Or, you can try her out on a trial and error. I learned my lesson to choose loctitians who specializes in traditional locks.

What I received was a hot mess…read more Locs were to thin, barely placed in a pattern, and the proprietor and owner had given me an early morning appointment time, but did not start on my locks until late afternoon. So I sat and wasted four hours of my day. I'd worked with the proprietor before; she installed my first and second set of locks. Each lasted beautifully for years. That is why I traveled from Vermont to NYC to work with her. Never again. I felt neglected and disrespected by her. I had an early day appointment and arrived on time. I sat waiting for hours with barely a word from her. She has lost what might have been a lifetime customer. And, in addition, she OVERCHARGED me for the hot mess she created. ($900.00) And, adding insult to injury, all of her work unraveled within 4 weeks. She gave me a call weeks later an inquired about how my locks were doing. I told her the truth flat out: that they had all unraveled. She offered no remedy and assumed that it was something that I'd done to cause the damage. Nope!
