My hair felt so healthy after my appointment and she layered and trimmed my hair to perfection. I wanted some framing of my face and she was totally receptive to my thoughts and made my hair look better than what I had hoped for. I went to work and instantly got compliments from a number of coworkers. Thank you, Hailey for taking care of me and giving me a wonderful, fresh cut! As advertised, what makes this studio unique is their hourly rate and no need to factor in gratuity. What is listed on the website in terms of rate/hour is what is due! No catches. If you haven't been to Cabinet Salon yet and you're shopping around salons- Hailey was wonderful and you can trust her to give you an excellent cut! Also, when I came in the woman working at the front desk was SO welcoming and warm. She instantly made me feel at home.

Very sorry to have to post this but clients who value their appearance should be informed…read more I have been to this salon for years and have a great colorist (Irina) and - up until last week - Sandra who was a great stylist at my previous visit. What wasn't expected was this time I'd be leaving with an Edward Scissorhands hack job. She has some skill but not consistent, apparently. I went back to get this resolved/adjusted but I strongly feel the onus was placed on me to make suggestions as to how to address the stylist's fail which resulted in a missing chunk of hair at my face and top layers 2 inches shorter than what we'd - mutually - decided on and a massive disconnect. The best practice would have been to consult the salon owners to give a second opinion when I came back, given she knew I was coming in with a problem. They do extensions at that salon and that could have been offered for what would have amounted to a small insert and not a free head of supermodel hair. Given I'm stuck with hours of additional work at my end amounting to more time out of my day and money on styling products the latter could have also been offered. My bangs were uneven and she couldn't even correct that minor imbalance without screwing up. The salon owner called to discuss which unfortunately was a complete defence of the stylist and lack of client respect. Apparently my getting a refund was supposed to be enough which hardly accommodates the months of dealing with a crappy service. Sure the salon comment will be something like "not a good fit" "miscommunication" as per my conversation with the owner or a suggestion I go elsewhere. I'm ahead of them on the last point.

Toby was helpful in terms of giving out suggestions. He started by asking questions on the kind of lifestyle I have so that he could give proper suggestions. Given my active lifestyle which requires having my hair to be tied most of the time and away from my face, he recommended me to not go with my original plan of having curtain bangs since the bangs will most definitely be in the way.

I live in NY so I have a U.S. bank and wasn't able to pay the $20 deposit because I don't have e-Transfer, but I emailed the salon and they said it was no problem and not to worry about it. I was able to use my Visa credit card (they also take Mastercard) to pay. If you do pay the deposit, $20 is deducted from your total. The hair washing station is really relaxing, with lie-flat chairs so your neck doesn't hurt and sparkling lights on the ceiling. I'm so happy with my cut ($80 CAD before tip) and I think I got a great value for the level of service. I highly recommend Sam and this salon, his technique was so meticulous and I love my cut.

Our appointment was for 11 am but at 1030, Amanda text us that Bella was stuck on a GO Bus and wouldn't be able to start until 1130. Normally that's not a big issue, but I was dealing with really tight timelines because of nap times and attention spans, so I couldn't just burn 30 more minutes than expected. I explained this to Amanda, and she said if I could get there soon, she would cut my daughter's hair. The salon opens at 11, but Amanda started with us at 1045. The level of customer service was unreal. Friendly, accommodating, apologetic and I got what I came there for - a sophisticated haircut for my daughter that wasn't just a "who cares you're a kid" cut. The salon is beautiful inside, the sparkling lights about the hair washing station was a nice touch. At the very end, Bella did show up and she seemed nice as well, but Amanda really came through for us. We will be back!!

I heard about Studio Fontana on a Facebook group. The lady quoted me a price under $130 for dye, cut and style. When I arrived at the salon they were behind schedule. The lady met me and was really friendly. She then began to do my hair. After she washed out the dye I noticed my roots were still very dark and I asked her some questions about my hair. She then revealed, she used a temporary dye on my hair (what??? Are you kidding me!!) and she is going to charge me more to re-dye my hair because she will now have to use more dye and it will come out of her pocket. Okay, so now I'm being charged for her mistake?? If she did it right the first time, I wouldn't be in this situation. No salon has ever used temporary dye on my hair. Now, instead of leaving at a normal hour, I was stuck waiting for her to finish my hair until midnight. During the 6 hours I was stuck at this salon I was famished. I wanted to eat dinner but could not because I was sitting in the salon. I also didn't want to eat dinner at midnight since it was time for me to schlep home and go to bed. Any who, my hair looked good when I left the salon but the next day something glorious happened. After I went in the shower (the stylist said this was okay) the dye ran out of my hair and I had no more dye in my hair. My hair faded in one wash! Was this really permanent dye? I really don't think so! I've dyed my hair for years and have never experienced anything like this. I would honestly NEVER return to this salon. Yes, the lady was nice but I've never had my hair fade in one day. This was a horrible experience and I had to go pay another salon to fix their mistake. Talk about a pricy haircut and dye job. Now I had to spend another $200 to redo what Salon Fontana didn't do Right the first time. I don't recommend this salon at ALL.
