However, it's always scary to try to find another stylist you like that will listen and do well. Things happen for a reason, so when my usual stylist cancelled on me at the last minute, I had to scramble to find a new salon. After looking through reviews (and calling places to see if they could get me in last minute), I booked an appointment with Grove Salon. Their communications with me were friendly, personable, and professional. I arrived at my appointment time and was greeted brightly by the receptionist and felt welcomed immediately. The salon was bright and inviting. I was paired with Gina - a friendly, cheery person that was ready to listen to my hair requests and motor-mouth abilities. (I love chatting with my stylist, and anyone else within talking distance. :o) ) I got a single color, wash, and Botanical treatment. (NEVER leave without getting this - it costs about $25 more, but WELL worth the money since it repairs your hair strands and leaves your hair feeling and looking like flowing silk.) The sinks had recliners that you relax in and blocks to cradle your head; with soothing music and shimmers of flowing water in the dimmed lighting. Gina made sure that my roots took all the dye and made sure of the quality of my color (the head massage during the conditioning stage was my favorite part!) Then onto the cut - Gina listened at every step, gave suggestions, and made my hair look amazing. I walked out with my hair shiny and bouncing... And all for HALF the price of my old stylist! Yes, a good haircut is suppose to be a bit of money - this isn't a Fantastic Sams or a Hair Cuttery. (Those are great for a quick cut on a budget, but you get what you pay for!) This is a SALON - It is meant for you to pamper yourself and us women deserve to be pampered - even if we have to pay for it ourselves! if you are willing to get a great cut, a great experience, and have the extra money (between $150 & $200 - DON'T FORGET YOUR TIP), then this is the place for you to be your gorgeous self! My hairstylist (Gina) and the receptionist (Shannon) both deserve 20 stars! The salon and the rest of the salon deserves 10 stars on a 5 star platform! He went above and beyond to make my experience memorable, from the aromatherapy, to the hand massage, to putting in extra TLC (all the little things add up). He gave me facts about the Aveda products (which is also why I wanted to come here), was honest about what style would fit my face and was open to what I wanted to do, and treated my hair amazingly!!! After hurdle of explaining what and how I want it due to language barrier, the owner's assistant began coloring my hair. I was not happy with the results as the top did look like I got a hair color but bottom looked like black so my original hair color and overall nothing like the picture I had shown. After going back and forth explaining what I wanted, her assistant started reworking on my hair. I did not know what she was doing but I figured she started on doing balayage. I was extremely happy with the results even though it was not like the pic I showed, then she did my haircut and blow dry. Everything was good till it came to paying. We had decided on $80 but then she wanted $105. That might be reasonable, however, that's not what I had initially decided on. She agreed on $80 and I did give her a good tip but I guess the owner was not happy. Do give this place a try but make sure u communicate everything well!

I saw a negative review and from the description I am not sure she was even getting an in salon service at the Art of Hair. The staff here are professionals who listen carefully to your requests. They ask questions for understanding and proceed accordingly. My stylist had years of hair cutting experience and it showed. I was greeted by the owner at the front and even though it was later in the afternoon I was able to get my service immediately. I was shocked by my price in the best way possible and left a healthy tip to recognize that I was pleased with my experience.

I held off on getting what I usually get because of so much hair loss. Jeanette trimmed my hair today and she was so gentle and very easy to talk to about all my concerns going on with my hair. I also purchased Olaplex 4 and 5 today with the help from the owner who actually went and got it for me, I think I waited maybe 5-10 minutes while he went to go get it. I definitely recommend coming here, I've never had a bad experience with anyone and everyone is so nice and very knowledgeable about hair!

She really takes the time to listen to what I want with my hair. She always checks up on me when I'm waiting for my color treatment to be done, whether the water temperature is comfortable for me or if she's with another customer. I have a lot of hair which takes longer to cut, style, blow dry, etc but my last two haircuts were the best I've had in my life and so many people have complimented me on how great I look. Needless to say I will be returning to Hair Masters and make sure that Marissa is my stylist.
