This was the best place yet. The owners are Dallas,Texas transplants, and I still cannot imagine how they successfully acclimated themselves to a place like Wheeling. But they did so perfectly. Edna's manages to be quaint and friendly, like the best of small-town parlors, but as heady, progressive and trendy as the best NYC Salons (where one can never get an appointment). Unexpectedly, there was no "Edna," but the Place was beautiful. Relaxing. And the conversation was brisk. These guys would be raking in big bucks in a larger city, but they obviously love their adopted hometown. And I Love Edna's.

I showed a picture of how my hair was layered before and it was very clear. I was very disappointed because what I wanted was completely dismissed. My hair is 2 inches shorter on the left side than on the right. It's completely uneven and thinned out at random. When it came to styling, my stylist said that my hair just "wasn't working" and sighed, saying maybe a straightener would work and asked how to style it. Eventually she just said it wasn't working and I was on my way. I'm really disappointed, maybe I should have been more clear. I'm not sure, but I would not have let someone leave a salon looking like that.

And that is what she did and proved everyone to be true. Second, as an adult woman, I should be able to express my feeling about the service I just received. I didn't say I wasn't paying, I tipped appropriately and was scheduling to go back for another service. So for her to "dismiss" a paying customer and local. Third, FYI ... if someone goes to college and you hire them and then make them sign that bogus contract that tells them they can't work in that field for a year, nope, NO judge is going to hold them to that. That's their livelihood and why as a business owner and woman ever want to hold another woman back? If it doesn't work out with you, let them go. Your ego is going to cause karma to come back hard. Birdie flying around town about you hurting the woman power by trying to control. Let them grow and stop holding them back. I hope they challenge you in court over that and you will see. They may not be able to work in same county but you and your contract won't stop them. So review is all because an owner couldn't have said, I am sorry. Period.
