Service was kind of slow and didn't really know much about the menu in terms of making recommendations. The location is fine but nothing spectacular. The interior is really nice but was fairly empty when we went. There are multiple rooms so you can kind of hide out in here but it wasn't lively (at least while we were there). The cakes we choose were actually kind of boring and nothing spectacular. I had a Dinkel-something which was also dried out. Anyway, we wouldn't come back extra for this place as we had this time...in search of good coffee. Again, the coffee is good and if you are in the area anyway, go for that. If I had one night in Sylt and no reservation at a Michelin star restaurant - this is where I would go.

The outdoor seating area is a meticulously manicured garden labyrinth, with some tables enjoying a view of the sea. The beautiful garden area isn't to be outdone by the cafe's building interior however, which was transformed into a shabby chic haven from a former war bunker. What to order? Always be careful to remember where your friends sit, because you might get lost on your way back from the cake bar or WC. The plum cake is my all-time favorite. The other cakes are delicious and the slices gigantic. A great choice of teas, even for tea experts. The view over the Wadden Sea (tideland) helps to relax. Lots of kids are running through the garden, having a great time. Just as their partens do. With a bit of luck, you will get to see one of the peacocks that strut around. It is always a big surprise for me, as this is one of the last places I'd expect a peacock to hang out.
