We headed out on Thursday morning for the 5 day drive back home to Oakland California, taking a northern route to stop by Badlands National Park and Mt Rushmore. By Saturday evening, we arrived in Cheyenne WY, where we spent the night. After looking at the weather forecast for the Sierra mountains, we decided to pick up some chains for our tires at the local Walmart in Laramie, WY, before continuing on our trip. On Sunday morning, as we got close to Laramie on I-80, the engine started sputtering, misfiring and losing power. The EPC light kept flashing and it was clear something was wrong. I was able to make it to the local Walmart parking lot, though the car stalled a few times on the way there. After I parked, I was unable to generate any power beyond idling, and the car continued to stall. I consulted yelp and google to find a local mechanic, but none of the local shops were open on Sunday. I saw a listing for Rise High Auto Repair, which described itself as a mobile mechanic company. I called the number and spoke with the proprietor, Chris on the phone. He said he could be there in 35 minutes and would diagnose the problem for $125 ($95 diagnostic fee and $35 travel fee) in the Walmart parking lot and that the $95 diagnostic fee would count against the repair cost if we opted to have him repair the car. When Chris arrived in his mobile truck, he was incredibly friendly and he got straight to work. He recommended replacing the spark plugs and wires, thinking that would address the issue. After finishing the repair and clearing the codes, he suggested I drive around in the parking lot a few times to reset the computer to see if the repair addressed the issue. However it did not. I made it about 200 feet and the initial problem persisted. He said he thought it could be an issue with the throttle, which he said he could clean, but if it needed replacement, I'd need to spend a couple of days in Laramie, because it was unlikely any of the local part shops would have the necessary part in inventory. He took apart the throttle, cleaned it out, and reset the computer. We decided to take our chances and see if we could make it to Salt Lake City and then Elko NV, which was about 625 miles away. The car ran well all the way to Elko. We got to Elko around 10:30 pm, and I noticed I had a text from Chis checking in on us to see how the trip was going. On Monday morning, we continued our trip back to Oakland and arrived safely with no further issues. Again, I had a text from Chris on Monday, to see if we made it home ok. All told we drove over 1100 miles. I can't say enough about Chris. First, he was incredibly competent. I could tell from speaking with him that he is extremely knowledgeable about automobile repairs. Watching him work, I felt like I was watching a surgeon. He made all of the repairs in the Walmart parking lot and he worked efficiently and thoroughly to ensure that he was able to repair the car. It was cold and windy on this particular Sunday and he invested over 4 hours of his time fixing our car outside. Finally, he was incredibly honest and kind. He cared enough to check in on us until we got home, something he really didn't need to do. I unequivocally recommend using Chris and his company if you find yourself in Laramie WY.

This shop paid over $600 and had it towed back to Arkansas and fixed the issue. The part was faulty. The customer service was OUTSTANDING! This shops customer service and quality of work speaks highly in they way they treat their customers and the work they do on your car. . It was scary and frustrating and dangerous. I didn't know what to do. I was able to get her to school on time, but was worried about making it back home with my son. I knew Reade's was there, so I figured at least I wouldn't have to pay a tow fee, but maybe some one can look. It was 4:30 on a Friday (they close at 5:00), I sure didn't expect much. The moment I pulled up I was asked how I was doing. The technician must have seen the panic on my face. He asked another tech to come see if they might help me at least know what's going on. They put diagnostic machine on, he crawled under my van (never even had to remove my son from the van), and found wires worn down that were shorting out as they hit a/c line on hills and bumps. He put tape over it, zip tied it, promised if that didn't fix problem to come back and he would not re-charge diagnosis. For their $50 diagnostic fee, on a Friday, I KNOW they were ready to go home. I was on my way, safe and sound and have not had a problem in the 5 days since. I was also grateful to see scripture on their card and in their office, a Bible and devotional on the desk in office...Dont get me wrong, it's not a guarantee of anyone living it...but it sure gives me an insight into their core values and what they strive for...and in this day and age, that means a lot. Plus, these folks exuded those values just in their interactions with me and each other. I have found a new, trustworthy garage!! And anyone with car issues knows that is a goldmine unto itself! I came back after hours that day to pick it up, only to find that my car wouldn't go in to any gear. I left a message on the business phone stating my concern. I left a bright neon note on my windshield with my problem. I didn't expect a call til Monday morning.(opens at 7:30) 9am rolls around on Monday 5-11 and I decide to call another shop. I met the wrecker there at 9:45a, Michael was in the shop bay, he had to have seen us. He never came out. The next shop diagnosed the problem. The Slave cylinder needed to be bled., something you have to do when disconnecting it in order to replace the clutch. Michael called me about 2.5 hours after I had my car towed that Monday wondering why I didn't come in to the shop...I had to hang up. Advice: Do your research on your vehicles and know every step it'll take to fix it., make sure it's communicated to you. I'm still miffed at how he got my car from bay to the parking Area.

I used to have a lot of faith in this shop. After this most recent visit, I feel like they are…read moretaking advantage of folks. I had quite a bit of maintenance work done on a GMC Yukon. I was charged $300 for spark plugs. When I questioned the service advisor about it, he acted as though that was reasonable. I showed him that they only cost 1/4 of that. He claimed "that's how the system does it." Regardless, how does a service advisor not know that spark plugs don't cost $40 a piece... I didn't even mention the overcharge for the wires or that I was charged for 13 quarts of oil for my oil change or any of the other questionable charges after that. I later received a phone call from a manager who wanted to "make the situation right." They credited me back the overcharge for the plugs but I could tell that the manager was unhappy that he had to do that so I didn't mention anything else. Sad to see what this place has become. I just accepted it as a loss and a lesson learned. I won't be back. It's unfortunate because this used to be a very reputable and trustworthy place. Just beware of this place. It's either they are trying to take advantage of folks, or it's incompetence at your expense. I'm not sure which is worse.

After checking all fluids I found my washer fluid was empty and my radiator reserve was over filled. I immediately sent message to Billy Kruck with no return reply and the message was opened. Asking if he had any idea what it might have been. NO REPLY. PLEASE REMEMBER I take all my cars to Kruck Automotive. ​ At this point with no reply. I would definitely not use these people. I have never had a bill with them under $2000 and I feel like they are VERY OVER RATED.
